UPDATE: Several screenshots of the Princess in a shimmering pink Elie Saab gown (with thanks to Molly Elizabeth) with delicate detail and her large pink UFO earrings.
Hello, dear readers! The Prince and Princess of Wales arrived in Jordan yesterday for the royal wedding of Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and Rajwa Al-Saif. It's going to be an utterly sparkling day with a host of royals from all over the world gathered. The wedding itself is due to begin at 4 pm and tonight there will be a sparkling banquet (tiara-filled). It's the first major overseas royal wedding or event the new Prince and Princess of Wales have attended.
Below, the couple arriving at their hotel, with thanks to Middleton Maven.
Upon arrival, the Princess appeared to be wearing the amethyst/navy Alexander McQueen suit she sported in Boston in December.
I'm embedding a livestream supplied by the Jordanian government (with thanks to Gert's Royals) which should have very solid live coverage of the wedding.
In the meantime, what are your tiara predictions for Kate? :)
Ooohhhh I would love to see Kate wear her wedding tiara!! It’s delicate & understated, yet also perfect throwback homage to the day she (like Rajwa) transitioned from commoner to royal.
ReplyDeleteI think she will wear the Lover's Knot Tiara. I would really love to see her wear the Girl's of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara.
ReplyDeleteThe Girls…tiara is my absolute favorite tiara in the royal collection!
DeleteThe Girl's of Great Britain and Ireland is my favorite as well. :-)
DeleteLove the dress she is wearing, Ellie Saab, but I haven’t seen her earrings up close yet. I would love her to wear a tiara she hasn’t worn yet—is there a Princess of Wales Tiara? Not Diana’s specifically but one that was a Wales….
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress! It was my opinion that they should attend this wedding and am beyond thrilled that they are!! What an exciting day!
ReplyDeleteThe dress is absolutely divine. The details, her hair... Catherine is 100% looking head to toe the Princess and future Queen that she is.
ReplyDeleteLoved what she wore!! William looked dapper as always! Beautiful couple, also the bridge and groom 😉💗
ReplyDeleteOh! Isn’t Princess Kate beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely photos! ❤️❤️❤️
Utterly beautiful! Rajwa is my new favorite. Classic and breeding. There was so much friendship and warm feelings when the two couples met!
ReplyDeleteOh how lovely Kate looks! I absolutely love those Kiki morganite earrings she wore at Pipppa's wedding and hope we get more close up pictures of her wearing them today.

ReplyDeleteFirstly, thanks for the lovely coverage as always. Your blog is by far the very best in reporting on the Princess of Wales. I would love to see a fashion wrap up of the royal attendees and other guests etc., if you have time and I know what you do takes lots of it for such thorough coverage. It's especially nice to see such light, happy news to counterbalance all that is usually difficult in the world.
ReplyDeleteThis was a nice surprise. I didn't know they were going. The Princess looks beautiful. Stunning dress and perfect choice for the occasion. Tiaras later, something to look forward to. I would like to see her wearing anything we haven't seen before. Or girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, second choice would be the lotus flower. S.🙂.
ReplyDeleteIt´s wonderful to see the Waleses in Jordan. I hoped they would attend the
ReplyDeletewedding despite the half term holidays in Lambrook.
As far as tiaras it would be nice to see the new one. And Catherine as the
Princess of Wales should have more tiaras for her disposal. I think the
Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara or the Queen Alexandra’s
Kokoshnik tiara would be perfect.
Iva
I doubt we’ll see the PoW wearing The Girls. Perhaps Queen Catherine will?
DeleteWell, I've seen some Elie Saab evening dresses and wedding gowns that I've loved (see, for example, the wedding dress of Stéphanie, the Hereditary Grand Duchess of Luxembourg), but this is not one of them. I think there's a little too much going on, between the leg o' mutton sleeves with their ruffled cuffs, the high pie-crust neck, the embroidery, the heavy gathered skirt, AND the large earrings and too-long hair with its limp-ish curls and waves. And this blush shade just isn't the Princess's color. She doesn't appear at her best in anemic light pinks.
ReplyDeleteThe dress does look beautifully made, and of course it makes a respectful nod to the need to observe conservative Muslim views of proper dress for women, but I'm left cold by it. It really doesn't appeal to my tastes.
On the other hand, the bride's wedding dress, which I saw on another site, is knockout -- sleek and sophisticated. I own a dress with an identical asymmetrical neckline, and that design feature is the reason I bought it. Gorgeous.
I agree that this Elie Saab dress is not my favourite. Just too fussy. It kind of reminds me of curtains. The bride looked beautiful however.
DeleteAlso, I watched some of the livestream and I was impressed by the King and Queen of Jordan personally greeting every guest as they arrived.
The Middletons and James are also attending. William does really have a close relationship with his in laws, it seems they travel together and socialize with the same people
ReplyDeleteBeatrice is there too!
DeleteI didn't know Kate and William were attending a royal wedding. I thought that was Sophie and Edward thing. Kate looks lovely and I do hope she wears a different tiara. I know Kate will keep it understated because she wouldn't want to outshine the bride.
ReplyDeleteThere is rumor that Kate’s earrings were a gift from Jordan.
ReplyDeleteIt makes sense
DeleteI still love the Halo Tiara and the Strathmore Rose tiara that I saw when I was a child and have loved it ever since. I am not a fan of the color of her dress...so unflattering. Thank you T
ReplyDeleteKate looks beautiful! Love the dress, the color, her hair, her earrings! I think the dress is very fitting to the occasion. The bride looks lovey. Beautiful earrings. Can't wait for the tiara pics! Very good footage of Kate and Will greeting the king and queen, starting at around 21:40, as their car pulls in. Bea and her husband are not long after. She also looks very pretty. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MaCUdQ2G4Ls
ReplyDeleteI don't love Kate's dress, I'm trying to imagine it without the fussy cuffs, maybe I'd like it more. But I'm THRILLED they are there. Please, please, please let her wear a new and big tiara tonight! Charlotte, if you can manage it, I'd love to see pictures of the other royal guests.
