The Prince and Princess of Wales are visiting Sandringham House to view floral tributes for Her late Majesty the Queen.

I'll have a full post shortly.

  1. As always, so much grace & dignity from the Prince & Princess of Wales; such staunch supporters of Queen Elizabeth II & the monarchy

  2. They spent quite a lot of time talking to the people, so kind and graceful. How reassuring such meetings must feel on both sides! At the same time, how tired the Waleses probably are...

    1. Such strength and dignity to have to convey, all the while experiencing such a raw emotion of losing not only your Queen, but your grandmother. The grief alone, not to mention that they just moved, their three children only started a new school, and the magnitude of their sudden shift in roles, is more than most could endure. I am in awe of the grace they are showing, and do believe that these meetings are cathartic for both sides. Read where William shared with someone today, that it was very hard yesterday, as it reminded him of walking behind his mother's casket, and he smiled and told her to stop or they would both be crying. I have renewed respect for the entire royal family for their strength in the midst of their own personal grief.

  3. I hope the Princess of Wales can get some rest soon. All these engagements amidst grief must be taking its toll.

  4. The amount of strength they must convey while out in the public is quite commendable. A lot of tears pouring out by so many, but the family, in their most grieving moment, are staying so strong and trying to comfort those who have come to pay their respects. 🖤

  5. Hello Charlotte.

I wanted to slip in a note to express my appreciation for the great job you are doing covering the events of the past week. Your posts are beautifully written. I think you reflect the dignity of the subjects you cover in a genuine way.

I imagine that for someone who has watched the Royal Family for so many years, that you are dealing with your own difficult feelings right now.

I’m sure I’m not alone in sending you warm wishes and huge thanks for all your efforts to document for your readers the story of the Queen’s passing, this mourning period and the tremendous changes ahead.

    1. You are incredibly kind and thoughtful, I truly appreciate it. It's been emotional for everyone and very much unlike anything I've experienced in blogging. Covering it is a job I hope to do well, I could write a million posts and never come close to expressing how much the Queen has meant to so many.

  6. I agree! The Prince & Princess of Wales do everything with so much grace & dignity. They are doing an incredible job during this extremely taxing mourning period & I too hope they get some time in with the children at Anmer or such.

They have done such a wonderful job of pacing themselves over the years, that I have to believe they will continue with the wisdom they have gleaned & look after themselves amidst all of this. I too thought perhaps they'd have a little more time, that though she was looking increasingly frail, that we would have more time with The Queen.....

It is an entirely different thing to have been preparing for something for years & to actually have the thing happen. Nothing can prepare you for the reality of losing someone you love so dearly, the matriarch of such a family & all the changes it now means for your own roles in both the family & moreover, professionally.

I know William & Catherine will bring their long established grace, dignity & work ethic to their new roles as The Prince & Princess of Wales.

God Bless The Queen/God Save The King!

    1. Agree Becca, William and Catherine are well suited to their new roles, they exude grace and dignity, and believe they are fully committed to each other and to their King, in the same manner they showed to their Queen.
