23:00 - ONE HOUR until Royal Tour Canada 2016 begins!
Kensington Palace /Chris Jelf |
22:45 - Let's chat about fashion next. What do you think the Duchess will wear upon arrival? A quick refresher on Kate's arrival looks on previous tours. Kate wore a navy lace Erdem dress when she arrived in Canada for the 2011 tour. Will she choose a look by the Canadian designer today?
It was a kimono style, pale pink dress with an orchid pattern and three-quarter sleeves by the wonderful Jenny Packham for the beginning of the 2012 royal tour of Southeast Asia.
The Duchess chose a scarlet military style Catherine Walker button coat with a matching red dress underneath for her New Zealand arrival in 2014.
And for April's tour of India and Bhutan, Kate arrived in Mumbai wearing an Alexander McQueen look in a striking print with peplum detail.
22:35 - For those asking about the plane the royals are travelling in, Emily Andrews revealed: "The Cambridges are en route in special Canadian Air Force plane with flat-bed seats & cabin for privacy. Let's hope G&C sleep!"
22:30 - Rebecca English shared a photo of William and Kate's convoy waiting.
22:25 - The press pack are en route to the airport.
22:15 - The Canadian government's official Tour Page can be viewed here. There's plenty of interesting information on the site and viewers can also send their greetings to William and Kate to mark the visit here.
Below we see Prince William's personal Canadian flag. "The flag of the Duke of Cambridge bears a blue roundel within a wreath of golden maple leaves for Canada, and shells, a symbol borrowed from his coat of arms. The centre features his Cypher, composed of the letter W with a coronet above it that indicates he is the child of the heir apparent of the Sovereign. Near the top of the flag is the personal three-point white label charged with a red shell, taken from his coat of arms."
22:00 - TWO HOURS until the Cambridges land.
21:35 - A selection of interesting articles ahead of the arrival you may enjoy reading.
- CBC News writes Royal Visit Canada: Where to find Prince William and Kate Saturday.
- CBC News also shared this interesting piece: Prince William and Kate in Canada: Why their royal visit is more than just the photo ops.
- The Vancouver Sun has a section full of content.
- TIME writes; What to Know About the History Behind the British Royals’ Visit to Canada.
- The Mirror looks back on Kate's 2011 tour wardrobe with 5 ways Kate's Canada 2011 royal tour outfits cemented her as a style icon.
- People's Why You Won't See Princess Kate in a Tiara in Canada (and What She'll Wear Instead!) is an insightful read with input from the wonderful What Kate Wore.
21:25 - Two young royal fans are extremely excited as you'll see :)

20:50 - Royal photographer James Whatling shared a photo of the red carpet being rolled out ahead of William and Kate's arrival at Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.
I think it's always a challenge for the media covering tours as they are away from their families. It's a particularly special time for James, as he and his wife welcomed a baby boy into the world last week. You can read an interview he gave with another great photographer, Mark Stewart, at CBC News. We'll have plenty of James's great photos throughout the tour.
19:50 - And here's a look at today's itinerary with timings in Pacific Daylight Time.
19:10 - Time for a Giveaway - Several months ago I was contacted by talented author Aven Ellis who was doing research for her latest book, Green Tea Latte to Go. The book's protagonist Payton is a Kate blogger and the book follows her trials and tribulations with work, love and everything in between. It's a fantastic read which I thoroughly enjoyed, getting to know the characters which Aven brings to life.
More from the book's description:
'For Seattle blogger Payton James, life is all about trying to achieve perfection. Payton is determined to be her best self in all areas, and she refuses to rest until she achieves it. However, an imperfect moment in a coffee shop completely changes Payton’s life. When her drink order gets switched by mistake, Payton finds herself face-to-face with a gorgeous British man named Brooks. Payton is instantly attracted to the witty stranger who is quick with his words—and has a beautiful smile.'
Aven has kindly offered to give away a copy of the book to a reader. Simply comment as normal and I'll randomly choose a winner before the Cambridges land. A big thank you to the lovely Aven. Wishing her every success with the book!
18:50 - There's really a tremendous sense of excitement ahead of this royal tour - perhaps the biggest buzz we've seen since William and Kate took George to Australia and New Zealand. Preparations have been underway for some time. Reporter Richard Zussman shared images from Government House.
Rubber ducks in the fountain for George and Charlotte :)
A look at one of the rooms the royals be using.
18:40 - Emily Andrews shared a video "This is the official welcome Kate and William will get later at BC's legislature".

17:00 - Are any of our readers in Canada planning to see the royals during their visit? If so, do let us know in the comments section.
16:45 - Many of us had wondered when we would see Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie with the Duke and Duchess. Yesterday the PM's office released the following statement confirming they will be present at the welcoming ceremony and will accompany William and Kate at several events on Sunday:
'On Saturday, September 24, the Prime Minister and Mrs. Grégoire Trudeau will participate in the Official Welcoming to Canada and British Columbia ceremony at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia. The Prime Minister will later have a private audience with the Duke and Duchess.
On Sunday, the Prime Minister and Mrs. Grégoire Trudeau will accompany Their Royal Highnesses on a tour of the Immigrant Services Society’s new Welcome Centre in Vancouver – the first, purpose-built facility of its kind that provides settlement, education, and employment services for thousands of immigrants and refugees each year. Later that day, the four will attend a youth reception in Vancouver where they will meet young Canadians who are helping to make a difference in their communities.
Their Royal Highnesses, the Prime Minister, and Mrs. Grégoire Trudeau will also visit Kitsilano Coast Guard Station for a first responders showcase. They will tour the station and speak to first responders about the issues they face every day in carrying out their life-saving work.'
16:30 - Keep an eye on the time in Victoria with our 'Canada Tour Clock' located near the top of the sidebar on the right. A look at the weather in Victoria, BC today.
16:20 - Royal reporter Emily Andrews shared news the Cambridges embarked at London about an hour ago. They are travelling aboard a Royal Canadian Air Force plane. Emily noted they are due to arrive in Victoria at 4 pm (midnight BST).

So excited!!
ReplyDeleteToday it was announced that our Prime Minister would also meet them when they land at 4pm. I was thinking that if Kate does not elect to wear red on arrival, she may choose the BC colours. Canada is certainly buzzing with anticipation. Charlotte you will need a holiday after this week given the time difference.
ReplyDeleteI am planning to see them!! I live in Victoria, just a few blocks from both the Legislature and Government House! I am so excited to have the chance to see them! Planning to head down around 1pm PST. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! I hope you can cath a glimpse of the Cambridges. Oh, how I wish they would come somewhere close to where I live...
DeleteI know the Brits have a special relationship with 'the continent' aka the rest of Europe but still... ;)
yay. have fun. take photos to share.
DeleteIn Victoria and awaiting their arrival! They are expecting tens of thousands of people today for the ceremony! There is a lot of buzz across the city, so much excitement.
ReplyDeleteOh wow tens of thousands! Really?
DeleteExcitement seems to be really high, that is phantastic. Trudeau really knew what he did when inviting 'Superstars' W & K
I'm planning on trying to see them tomorrow morning at 10:45 at Jack Poole Plaza in downtown Vancouver. I've never gone to see anyone famous before so hopefully I can get there early enough to catch a glimpse of them. Pretty excited!
ReplyDeleteI hope you will be able to cath a glimpse! Do you live in Vancouver or did you travel there in order to see them?
Deleteoops catch*
Deleteso neat, Efree. I so hope you succeed. Take photos to share if you can.
DeleteEfree, Anonymous, and Amy, I hope you will report back to us and give a first-hand account. I'm very excited for all of you!
DeleteSonja - I live in downtown Vancouver so I'm only a 15 minute walk away from the plaza.
DeleteYes, I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow!
I've been reading this blog for quite some time, but haven't been much of a commenter. Thank you Charlotte for setting this up! What fun! You are appreciated for your hard work😊
ReplyDeleteI have an IPhone. How do I push a refresh button? Where is that? What is that? Please answer on previous thread or I won't get your answers. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteokay now. thanks.
Delete17:51
OMG, Charlotte - you're definitely going above and beyond for us ~ I've got to leave for a while but I'll be back later. For now, I just wanted to leave a brief but warm regards for the best blog host there is :) ...
ReplyDeleteHeeey everyone!! Anyone else starting to get butterflies?! :D
ReplyDeleteI definitely am! But I am still unsure whether or not I will stay awake until 1am when they will arrive... you live in a similar time zone as I do, how do you handle this? :)
Deleteonce I find out how to keep current with the blog via a refresh button somewhere I will. :)
DeleteHaha, I handle it by having no life so I'm on Canada time right now :P
DeleteRebecca, you are too funny. lol
DeleteWhen are the Cambridges due to arrive (UK time)? Thank you :)
ReplyDeleteI *think* about midnight in the UK. 4pm Canada, 8 hours earlier than UK, 9 than Germany where I am :)
DeleteThat is correct, they are due to arrive at midnight (UK time).
DeleteHere is a thought,
DeleteWhen they arrive, we should all, at the moment they step out of the plane, do a "DKB TOAST" to Charlotte, by lifting our glasses and taking a sip of wine together, or tea, soda, or coffee.
This could become a DKB tour tradition and give that special acknowledgment to our very talented, hard-working and very thoughtful Charlotte. What do you think?
I love that idea!
DeleteShantel
Minnesota, USA
yay. There are more people in the newest portion of the comments that will be joining you Shantel.
DeleteThis blog is too cute! Keep up the good work ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see the Cambridges in my time zone (California)! I think your Canada time clock is off by an hour, BC has the same time as Cali, Pacific time zone. At least I think so.
Karen
right, Karen.
DeleteCalifornia Girl
There was a glitch with my attempt to post yesterday. After viewing the fashion suggestions for the Duchess I had a little giggle. Local media reports (in the absence of much to talk about while waiting) focused on the media setting up gear around the legislature buildings and the influx of numerous port-a-potties throughout various areas of the city. Quite a distant leap from Jimmy Choos, diamonds and couture on the blog.
ReplyDeleteI also noted the sophistication and edge of many of suggested options for casual wear. They were certainly more glamorous than anything I would see locally on a day to day basis--even in business casual. But what is a royal visit without hitting it out of the park for sophistication and glamour? I am now inspired to up my game in this department.
I won't be heading into areas where the royals might walk about. Traffic will be a gong show. For security reasons routes will not be announced ahead of time; therefore, if the motorcade rehearsals are anything to go by, I could get caught up in blocked traffic on a side street. No option then but to wait for the motorcade to pass and see nothing but the license plate directly ahead. I'll have a much better view of the Duchess here. (Thanks, Charlotte.)
I am so excited for the tour! Not sure whether I will stay awake until they arrive, though... will be 1 am where I live.
ReplyDeleteSo looking forward to seeing the children! I hope we will get a lovely family shot if the weather conditions permit. Do you know how the mood is in Canada, is there a big excitment? I'd love to hear from Canadian readers :)
BTW I love the top image with the family in the maple leaf of the flag, Charlotte :)
Yes, again, Charlotte has done a perfect special occasion logo.
DeleteI am curious as to the accommodations and interior of the air force plane on which they are flying. When I think of "air force plane," I imagine large cargo holds with folding seats on the sides. I cannot imagine flying with two children for such a long journey in such a state, vs. the rather lovely environment of first class on British Airways. Note: I am in NO way insulting the Royal Canadian Air Force, this question is just trying to reconcile my own curiosity with my potentially inaccurate image of the interior of military planes.
ReplyDeleteGreat question. I imagine it's probably similar to Airforce 1 for the POTUS.
DeleteI agree with anon19:05, I would imagine it like a private jet with more space than a 'normal' passenger plane. I think that when they went to OZ they took a commercial flight to Sydney or Canberra or sth like that and then boarded a military New Zealand plane for the last part of the journey (if I remember correctly) so they are used to it and it seems to be pretty common. If it was as uncomfortable as a 'normal military plane' they would not take it. (Also kate will probably change her clothes while on the plane, have her hair done, change Charlotte's diapers, lay the kids down for naps... would probably be difficult on a british airways flight even in 1st class ;)
DeleteThey are not going to be flying them over in a cargo plane or troop transport, lol. I did question that though. I think 19:05 is right that it is most likely very posh. George and Charlotte will always have the best of the best. No, cargo plane for them.
DeleteOh my Goodness!! Somehow I let this slip up on me. I did not realize the tour was already underway. Charlotte I am so excited and looking forward to your always wonderful coverage.
ReplyDeleteYour "Canada Tour Clock" appears to have stopped. We are on Pacific Time and it is presently 11:00 AM on the Pacific Coast. The weather is improving her in British Columbia, and it looks to be a decent, if not chilly, fall day.
ReplyDeleteHello Janet,
DeleteThe clock in the post is only a screenshot. The clock is ticking away on the sidebar :)
Lovely Charlotte, I so enjoy your live blogs, have been looking forward to this for weeks. I am watching Strictly now which is livening me up nicely for a late night. Cant wait to see the Cambridge family - so excited - and thank you, thank you for all your all hard work - it is very, very much appreciated - Linda x
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda,
DeleteYour comment came just a moment after I received a text from my mum "Are you missing Strictly?". She's a serious fan of the show and very disappointed her favourite judge Len is leaving this year.
I hope you're enjoying the show :)
What a funny coincidence! :D
DeleteCharlotte,
DeletePardon my ignorance but how do you "hit refresh"? Please advise prior to their landing, if possible. I don't want to miss their arrival. Thanks.
Hello,
DeleteHit the little circular arrow button in the upper right of the window (or left depending on your browser).
Thanks bunches.
DeleteDear Charlotte, Don't know how you manage all of this! Hope you know how very much we appreciate you! Hugs, karen
ReplyDeleteWaiting here in California for their arrival. We are in the same time zone, so excited!!
ReplyDeleteRubber ducks for George and Charlotte - too cute!
ReplyDeleteThe rubber ducks are always in the fountain, if I recall correctly. I don't believe that they are especially for the royal children.
DeleteSuper excited for this tour to start! Love the live blogs, they are such fun and really amp up the excitement,
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlotte for making this such fun!

ReplyDeleteI always enjoy reading your blog. So excited about the giveaway, as I am an avid reader
ReplyDeleteI have to say that I'm really looking forward to this tour. It will be wonderful seeing the children in this capacity. Princess Charlotte must look quite different by now. How adorable are the duckies in the fountain??!!

ReplyDeleteCharlotte xcellent commentary Would totally enjoy the Green Tea Latte To Go..
ReplyDeleteso excited charlotte can't wait to really see them in person as well. If I get photos will email you during this tour.
ReplyDeleteyay, Mellie. How very sweet of you. Have fun. :)
DeleteI'm SO EXCITED for this tour!!! It's the first time I don't have college during a tour (since I started following the Cambridges), which means I can finally follow the tour closely, and live, thenks to this AMAZING blog (and thanks to twitter ;)). Charlotte, you're doing a remarkable job, and I can only hope Kensington Palace will offer you a vacation when the tour is over... ;)
ReplyDeleteOn a completely other note, I was in London about 10 days ago, and hoped so much I'll see Kate, or any other royal, for that matter. Unfortunately I didn't see any royal. The closest I got to meeting Kate was in the National Portrait Gallery, where I saw her portrait, and it was one of the most exciting moments of my visit. I also saw her figure in Madame Tussauds, where I was actually quite dissapointed. I didn't think it was an accurate reproduction, although I've never actually met her, so I shouldn't judge lol. Also I was quite dissapointed by the fact that the figure had on a dress that Kate, to my knowledge, has never worn publicly.
As for the giveaway, this book sounds FANTASTIC! What a great idea to write about a Kate blogger, I'm sure I'd love to read it!
So excited For the tour to start!
I can't wait to read your posts Charlotte, they are always really informative and at the same enjoyable. Thank you for your hard work!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your blog for quite some time but have never posted a comment. Charlotte, you do an absolutely wonderful job of keeping your readers informed on what is happening in the life of the Duchess of Cambridge and her family. DeleteWhat color do you think Kate will wear when she steps off of the plane?
ReplyDeleteI would say red, but I'm leaning towards blue.
I'm very excited for this tour! Thank you for your great coverage!
ReplyDeleteThrilled about the giveaway, too! The book looks darling.
Charlotte...you are truly a remarkable blogger....love that you pit in 100% into your writings about the Royals..would enjoy reading more about Green Tea too.

ReplyDeleteA huge thank you for your lovely comments. These 'Live Blogs' are always such fun :)
ReplyDeleteIs your mom following along on the blog?
DeleteThey are heading out with friends right about now. She'll be checking in though as she's particularly excited to see Charlotte. I think most people are as it's our first real opportunity to 'get to know' her as we did with George during the 2014 tour.
DeleteThank you Charlotte, in advance for all of your hard work! Truly The Bentley of Blogs!:)
DeleteI agree with your mom, Charlotte. The little princess is actually the main attraction. Sorry William, Kate, and George. There is a new kid on the block now. :)
DeleteAs it will be 12 midnight UK t-time, when they arrive in Victoria, I doubt if we will see the little ones, except perhaps asleep in someone's arms.
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the live blog Charlotte---hope I can keep awake.
I'm sure they have made sure to get the kids on the right scheduel already.
DeleteI agree, Rebecca. They definitely had time to think it through and plan. Will the children notice the rubber ducks do you think?
DeleteLove the idea of the book, love to read, love your blog
ReplyDeleteCharlotte I am joining my fellow bloggers in giving you a very big THANK YOU for all your hard work on this blog. It's the only blog I follow. I am so very excited for this tour. It will be wonderful to see Prince George but especially Princess Charlotte who we haven't seen for a while now. It's going to be long tiring week but we can all rest when it is over.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU THANK YOU Charlotte you are the best
So excited for this tour!! I know you'll be up late blogging throughout the week, so thank you in advance for all your hard work and commitment to your readers!! You are outstanding!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay,
ReplyDeleteI had this suggestion above but don't know how many will make it up there and their arrival time is getting close, so
How about when they step out of the plane, we all raise a glass of wine, soda, tea, etc. and do a big
"DKB TOAST" to our talented, hard-working and very thoughtful Charlotte. This could become a sweet
DKB tour tradition. And we would all be doing it together at the same time. Making memories. :)
What do you think?
Saying, "Thank you sweet Charlotte, Hugs". The same words and goodwill going up for Charlotte at the same time all around the world. yay
I replied below as well:) But what if we also included where we will be toasting & following from around the world? I'll be toasting from Chicago! :)
DeleteWhenever wine is involved, count me in...
DeleteI think it's a very sweet idea, and a very well-deserved toast for Charlotte!!
THAT IS A GREAT IDEA BECCA. :)
Deletecute, British Royal Family Fan. where will you be toasting from?
DeleteDid the little girl, Caitlin, in the video say, "we are just children" or "we are all her children"? Could that video have been any cuter? Absolutely not. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlotte for that and the hourly schedule and the link to the news articles and, and, and......... :)
Looking forward to your coverage.
ReplyDeleteThe minute they step off the plane do you all want to raise a glass of wine, tea, soda, etc. in a "DKB TOAST" to our dear Charlotte? It could become a DKB tour tradition. Sorry if this is a repeat. Didn't see my other one yet and their arrival time is close. Let me know. :)
ReplyDeleteThat is truly so sweet!
DeleteI'm on. I'm at work now so I will be raising a glass of water but still :-)
DeleteCount me in! I'll be Toasting from Chicago.:) Perhaps everyone can chime in with where they will be toasting from around the world? :)
DeleteI'll be toasting from Toronto
DeleteI will be raising a glass of water in Arizona--same time zone but a very long way away!
DeleteI'll be toasting from Atlanta Georgia
DeleteCalifornia girl is in. As I don't usually drink alcohol, I borrowed some wine from my brother. He has one of those boxes of wine, lol. He will never know. :) It is a special occasion.
DeleteI have my wine glass all ready.
Maybe we could all say in unison,
"Thank you sweet Charlotte. Hugs."
That could become our official DKB Tour Toast. YAY What do you think?
Siddhi,
Deletewater counts, :)
where will you be toasting from?
I'll be toasting from my front desk in Md state :-)
DeleteI love the toast idea and think a perfect start to a nice tradition! I love the idea and we all love Charlotte! I will be toasting from Tallahassee Florida. Thank you Charlotte and big big hug!
DeleteToasting from New York. It's a pleasure to come together with you all.
DeleteThank ya'll, :). How fun.
DeleteToasting from Southern California. Great job Charlotte.
DeleteI'm so excited for the royal tour, the run up is always fun and builds the anticipation! Before the royal tour kicks off, let me just say THANK YOU, Charlotte for being so dedicated to bringing us the best coverage.
ReplyDeleteI do hope that this tour follows previous tours in the mix of events and population. I really feel like they seamlessly transition between family, friends and government obligations and I think bringing George and Charlotte really shows their commitment to maintaining a balance.
Alaina, will you join the "DKB TOAST"?
DeleteOf course!
Delete:)
DeleteWhat a fun idea for a book--I love books based off of Kate!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all you do--I'm really looking forward to your coverage of this tour!!
VERY EXCITED!!!! Charlotte, you're such a trooper to take on all these royal tours at all hours of the day. I imagine it's quite enjoyable, but still quite a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteChelsea, Steffie, NY, Theresa from Austin, Rose from Montreal, Jessica, Rebecca, Jean from Lancs,
DeleteRhonda from Wisconsin, Melody from California,
and everyone else here who has appreciated Charlotte's awesome efforts, will you join the rest of us in a "DKB TOAST" to Charlotte when they step off the plane??????
Please be sure to affirm this here now please, giving where you will be toasting from. I think this could become a sweet DKB Tour Tradition to acknowledge Charlotte for all her work that we all are so thankful for. :)
That was Melanie from California (sorry) I was in a hurry.
DeleteA hearty yes, from here on the east coast!
DeleteSorry - I was having dinner with my family in Michigan when they landed so I missed it!! Just catching up now. I would have happily participated though!!!!
DeleteNext tour Rhonda. :)
DeleteToasting fron Southern California🍷
DeleteAgonizing about whether I can make it to Kitsilano to see TRHs tomorrow in Vancouver! So close but the TV coverage may be better than a glimpse in person.
ReplyDeleteWow- I'm glad I got on and read this post before they landed! The book sounds wonderful and I'm so excited for the first trip of the Cambridges as a family of four!
ReplyDeleteI will be toasting in San Diego, Cailfornia.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for them to land!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous. Love her blue outfit. So chic.
DeleteJennifer - what part of Wisconsin? I am from the Kenosha area!
DeleteWilliam has his own Canadian flag in Canada? wow
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your win Melissa. Don't think you will be starting that book for at least a week though. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't think anything can top the red Catherine Walker she wore for her arrival in New Zealand. That is one of my all-time favorites of hers.
Waiting to see them!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to the Royal Hamster's tweets during this tour almost as much as I am your coverage, Charlotte! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited !!
ReplyDeleteYes They've Landed! Toasting From Chicago! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glued to the mirror live stream - there they are :D ... oh my gosh *swoons*
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA. Love the mirror's live feed. It's The George Show costarring those two adults!!
ReplyDeleteI was very impressed that she walked down those plane steps in those heels, with Charlotte in her arms, and holding George's hand. LOVE her look!
ReplyDeleteAnd she can squat down gracefully in high heels and a tight skirt, holding a one-and-a-half-year-old toddler, and stand back up without support or losing her balance. I know I never had that much strength and control!
DeleteWas able to stream Canadian TV in Arizona so saw them as they stepped out. Kate looked beautiful in blue, carrying Charlotte. George walked down the steps holding William's hand, fascinated with everything. Both children were soooo cute!!!!
ReplyDeleteI Know! Soooooo Adorable! :)
DeleteWatching CBC live feed........Catherine looks absolutely beautiful, incredibly gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you bluhare, It Is The George Show.
I was thinking blue and I must say she look fantastic! So chic! Both Sophie and Kate are super smart. Hat's all to Kate with going with a sheath style dress this time. The dress, hat and hair look amazing.
ReplyDeleteKate was wonderful attentive to George. I'm sure he has lots of questions. Of course a helicopter goes by when he hits the ground. He sure does have the royal wave down.
I Know!:) So Cute & I Love How She Didn't Hesitate To Get Down To His Level To Chat With Him & With Charlotte on Her Hip No Less! :) She's Going To Make One Amazing Queen! :)
DeleteKate's outfit is stunning. Love the sleeves. And her updo is gorgeous! I'm sure I never looked this good after traveling 8-10 hours across multiple time zones :-D
ReplyDeleteI did the toast. It was fun. Waiting for them to roll the stairs over to the plane. Then when the door opened and Wiiliam stepped off the plane, a DKB TOAST to our dear Charlotte for following the tour for us. I know a lot is did that. :) (Hope you felt the love, Charlotte?) x
ReplyDeleteKate looked so regal. Loved that she automatically knelt down to tend to George, even in that formal situation and even in those heels.
LOVED her outfit. And George was so calm and mature.
That was quite a looong caravan of cars/vans.
Kate looks lovely, a new level of elegance from the previous tour - as it should be. Look forward to seeing more - guests this weekend - must keep my head for morning - but I'll go find a sip for a toast now! Kate's favourite shade of blue and so pretty on her. The children are adorable- a little overwhelmed - not surprisingly. Mrs T looks very pretty too.
ReplyDeleteJulia, weren't you entertaining during the last tour as well? I seem to remember you popping in during lulls to comment.
DeleteI agree about the dress. Beautiful shade and silhouette. I'm surprised it is a JP. I would have thought McQueen or Catherine Walker. I feel that the blue should have been a no brainer for us. Of course. PW would be in navy and PG in his ubiquitous navy shorts and blue jumper. It only follows that PC and Kate would wear blue as well for the greatest photographic impact.
The children are equally as lovely, and Bluhare is correct. It is all about PG.
Just Lovely All Around! :)
DeleteKate looks stunning. Wow.
ReplyDeleteOff to watch the live feed....
Charlotte! Thank you so much for pulling all of this together - how exciting! Diana would have been so proud to see her son's sweet little family. They truly are fine ambassadors of Her Majesty!
ReplyDeleteLisa from Dallas
I Was Thinking The Same Thing!!!! I Thought Without Diana, There Would Not Be This Authentic, Genuine, Sweet Couple & Family with Such Wonderful Priorities & Values! Bravo Diana! :)
DeleteLove, love, love Kate's outfit. She looks every inch a queen. So chic and charming. The children are adorable, and William looks elegant. What a prized couple, such an asset to England and the Royal Family.
ReplyDeleteSo True, So True, So True! Amen! :)
DeleteOne of the best outfits kate has ever worn! My dad loved as I was watching the live stream, how George was more fascinated with the helicopters than meeting people!
ReplyDeleteI Agree & I Know About The Live Stream! My Hubby is Usually Not Interested at All, but Was Curious & Watched Some of The Streaming!:)
DeleteKate looks spectacular and regal. Maple leaves on her hat.
ReplyDeleteKate looks so regal! They make such a lovely family!!!!Thank you Charlotte!!
ReplyDeleteomg look at that crowd - watching the live stream...So exciting - hope some of our fellow bloggers are in that crowd
DeleteI Know! I Was Thinking The Same Thing As I Was Watching The Stream Too! Hopefully We Will Hear From Them! :)
DeleteRegal is a word that keeps coming up. Regal she is, for sure. Think about all that she has experienced since she was in Canada five years ago. A lot of Royal experiences, the Chinese State Dinner, hosting POTUS AND FLOTUS for dinner, meeting other President's, Prime Ministers, etc.
DeleteWhat absolutely charming early photos of Kate and Charlotte getting off the plane. George and Charlotte are pretty amazing to be looking so neat, clean, bright, and curious after a journey as long as they've just had! ... And Kate never ceases to amaze me with the diplomatic sartorial nods. The blue maple leaves that are part of her Lock & Co. hat are so elegant, subtle, just beautiful. When you try to put together an outfit yourself, as many of us have just done, it makes you realize how much thought, work, care, creativity, and imagination goes into the Duchess putting together her wardrobe for a trip like this. Her sense of occasion, her elegance, and her class is almost unparalleled, IMO.
ReplyDeleteAnd Charlotte, such amazingly fast posts. So much appreciated, it makes this all so much fun.
Well Said!:) As They Say, The Love Is In The Details!:)
DeleteChristen You Hit The Nail On The Head About Kate & Her Attention To Details With Her Sartorial Choices! She Just Gets Better & Better At It All & Somehow It's Always Authentic & She Remains Herself! Bravo Kate/Catherine! :)
DeleteI agree totally. With Kate, the outfit is always about the people she's visiting, not a fashion statement or a LOOK AT ME garment. She has great taste in this regard, and I suppose, great research assistants.
DeleteLove it! Kate looks great and the family pics are so special. Thanks for keeping up with them Charlotte. Excited for the rest of the tour, from Peta in Australia
ReplyDeleteSo thrilled they've arrived here in Canada. Each family member looks lovely - such sweet looking children.
ReplyDeleteKate's dress and hat are a wonderful! A perfect royal choice.
George is uber cute. And I thought it was going to be the Princess Charlotte show but I think it is most assuredly the Duchess Kate show.
ReplyDeletewho are all the people that are with the PM and Mrs. Trudeau?
ReplyDeleteThe Governor General and his wife in green, the premier of BC in red and her son.
DeleteI'm not sure who the lady in burgundy is...
DeleteAnonymous - thank you so much :)
DeleteLove the maple leaves on the hat n the hairdo. The outfit is exquisite n the blue earrings look new. I was able to get the stream n held up dinner here in ny so I could view it in real time. Thank you Charlotte
ReplyDeleteI agree about the maple leaves. Hugh impact having them done up in unconventional color. I think she has her tanzanite earrings on but didn't get a super close look .
DeleteA+ For The Maple Leaves in Blue!:) It looked to me as if these were Pear Shaped Sapphire Earrings! Are These New To Her Collection? Maybe They Were Tanzanite?
DeleteErika, I know. I would not have thought to do them in blue like that but it worked. Kate looked uber elegant today and very, very beautiful.
DeleteShe has worn those earrings before but I haven't seen them sparkle as much as they did today. She has a pendant also that she wore with the earrings previously.
Thank you Charlotte ~ the live blog was incredibly lovely! Good night for now ~
ReplyDeleteShe picked her look perfectly...chic and regal, yet she can bend down to interact with George and come up looking perfect. Saw another pic any mom will recognize...wide stance with Charlotte on her hip. A bit bizarre in that formal outfit, but proves she's a mom first. Really love her more and more. Great job, Charlotte, thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteWell Said Rebecca :)
DeleteHorrendous hat on Sophie Trudeau I'm afraid. Really odd choice.
ReplyDeleteKinda Funky :)
DeleteAgreed! And should she be wearing purple?! Isn't that reserved for Royalty only? Although she does fancy herself the Princess of Canada I think!
DeleteI love Kate's dress, especially the detail at the back, which is the same as the dress I chose for my "dream look" last year, the Boden Betty Ottoman dress. Thank you, Charlotte, for providing the links to the live streams, I never would have found them otherwise. I've been enjoying watching this for the past few hours. I loved seeing Princess Charlotte again, was really looking forward to that. I can't wait to see the coverage of the rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteForgot to mention that I loved the color coordination in all of their outfits. Such a pretty blue and would love to find out what dress Charlotte was wearing!
ReplyDeleteJust watched the live stream of the welcome ceremony. It was wonderful! And I loved how W & C just dove into the walkabout. C especially when the Gov General's wife expected her to head to the car and she wanted to meet more people beyond the red carpet. She really is comfortable meeting people!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Thx Charlotte for the links for streaming! I was able to watch it all Live from Will, Kate, George & Charlotte coming out of the plane, all the way through the whole Welcoming Ceremony! It was Amazing, especially to watch Will & Kate do the walk about on their way to their car. I love, love, love how she dressed her family & I loved how William made some spontaneous moves to interact with certain people in the Ceremony or in The Crowd to make the experience authentic to them! They Clearly made Many People Happy by doing so! :) What an Amazing Couple! The Children did Incredibly well too, which again is a testament to W&K's Parenting & Prepping so that they weren't upset by the crowds etc at all! So Excited! What A Great Tour It Already Is!:)
ReplyDeleteThx Charlotte:)
BeccaUSA
I think the Duchess is wearing a Catherine Walker. It reminds me of the grey dress that she wore with the snakeprint Tabitha Simmons pumps.
ReplyDeleteAlso how on earth could she strut down the plane in those high heels with two kids? phew!!! what a strong woman she is!!
Such a wonderful welcome from the country of Canada and wonderful start to the tour! The Cambridge family looked so sweet, especially George and Charlotte. I am really looking forward to seeing the kiddos throughout the week. Kate was simply beautiful. She was classy, regal, and just lovely. I thought she looked perfect from head to toe!
ReplyDeleteThank you Charlotte for the live blog! I am really looking forward to the week and all the great coverage on the blog!
The live stream, particularly on their return from the ceremony when the D&D are greeting people, really give you insight on the challenges of the security personnel in this unfortunate day of crowd terrorist attacks. Bravo to them! I thought that Will and Kate did a great job of working the crowd!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all who participated in the "DKB TOUR TOAST" to Charlotte. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was a spur of the moment idea near their arrival time. Next tour we perhaps can have more advanced notice, giving even more here the opportunity to show their appreciation. I think it is a lovely tradition to start for a lovely lady who gifts us with this lovely blog.
Thanks again. What fun. :)
