Styling Kate: Your Royal Ascot Choices (Part 2)

We're back with Part 2 of your Royal Ascot choices. Due to the number of entries, I've decided to divide the looks into three parts, so if you don't see your look here, it will definitely be included in the next part wrapping up the Ascot choices. We have another array of fabulous ensembles assembled by our talented stylists. You'll notice brilliant variations reworking pieces Kate already owns, raiding the wardrobes of other royals, and completely new and colourful looks. Judging by our looks in the batch below, readers have something of a penchant for green and pink in particular. Take a look and enjoy :)

Siddhii - Siddhii chose a green ensemble for the Duchess to wear for Royal Ascot featuring Valentino's Lace and Hammered Satin Dress. It's crafted to fit slim from the self-tie fastening point collar to the waist, where it fluidly falls to the knees. Kate's choice of a rich green hat and Kiki McDonough green amethyst and diamond earrings from Christmas 2015 and green pumps from St Patrick's Day complete the ensemble.

Andrea from New York - "For Royal Ascot a change from the all white looks of the past two years but a still a monochrome look - Lela Rose leaf guipure lace ruffle skirt dress." The dress is styled with Kate's Rupert Sanderson Calice pumps, an Alexander McQueen clutch and the pink Jane Taylor hat and Kiki Morganite earrings the Duchess wore for Pippa's wedding.

Bluhare - Bluhare selected a vintage-inspired look for the Duchess to wear to Ascot with a 1950s style lavender and green floral dress with a defined waist and full skirt. The dress is accessorised with a lime green hat, statement green shoes and the Marchesa Iris Floral Painted Python Small Box Clutch.

Bluefire - Bluefire mixed high street with designer for her look choosing the Topshop Lily Floral Mesh Dress, Manolo Blahnik's BB pumps (the signature style is named after French movie star Brigitte Bardot and features a pointed toe and thin heel), and the GARAVANI Rockstud Leather Camera Crossbody Bag.

Alaina from NJ - Carole Middleton donned a GOAT dress for Ascot this year and the brand would be Alaina's choice for Kate too. Below we see their cream Bow-Embellished Wool-Crepe Dress styled with the Jess Collett Iris hat, the Rupert Sanderson Calice Pumps and the Alaia Embellished Leather Clutch. For jewellery we have Kate's Kiki Morganite and Cushion Drop Earrings and the very appropriate Links of London Ascot Horseshoe bracelet.

Downton Abbey Fan - The Ruffle Sleeve Midi Dress With Floral Embroidery by Needle and Thread (I adore this brand; never fails to provide amazing options for occasion wear). The dress is teamed with the Rachel Trevor Morgan Grey straw mesh disc with hand made roses and tipped claw feathers, Olive ankle strap heels and the Hobbs Grey Kew Clutch.

Lily - Lily did something quite different with her look opting to "borrow" from the wardrobe's of other royals. We see the Beulah London Trapeze dress (worn by Princess Beatrice to Ascot). It is styled with a fascinator worn by Princes Madeleine of Sweden, Jimmy Choo Suede Anouk Heels, a Saint Laurent bag, art deco style earrings, and Kate's Diamond by the Yard bracelet.

KMfan - KMfan suggests a pink lace dress from Caroline Herrera's Fall Winter 2017 Collection with Kate's pink Jane Corbett hat, Kate's bordeaux Gianvito pumps and Mulberry Baywater Clutch in Burgundy suede.

Little Miss Sunshine - "I kinda got bored by always white lace for Ascot so I decided to switch it up a bit - take away the lace and add a pop of blue :)." We see the L.K. Bennett Corin Blue Embroidered Silk Dress styled with Kate's Oroton cluch from the Australia tour, the Suzannah Flick Corsage Juliette Saucer Hat and the captivating steely grey Annoushka Feldspar Earring Drops crafted in 18 carat white gold framed in diamonds and suspended from opulent diamond hoop earrings. For shoes, it's the MICHAEL Michael Kors Georgia Ankle-Strap Pumps in Admiral.

Acorn and Rose Fashion Blog - "This light blue dress with lace flowers and ruffled neckline from the Erdem pre-spring 2018 suits Kate's style perfectly. The dress is floor length in the picture, but I would suggest shortening it. The dress works great with the 'Volute' headpiece from Camilla Rose - I would suggest a bespoke piece in the same blue colour as the Erdem dress. The monochrome colour palette would bring out the white lace on the dress even better." The look is completed with Kate's Gianvito Rossi Praline Pumps and Annoushka pearls.

Louise, London - "The royal enclosure calls for a formal outfit but not too formal. I wanted something not just not white but not in the dreamy/romantic style Kate has favoured since her wedding. But, go too formal and the outfit looks like something she would wear for a visit to a patronage or formal royal duty. In the end I plumped for this Roland Mouret." The dress is accessorised with the Lock & Co. Precious Hour Hat (with a black rose rather than blue), Marc Jacobs Wilde crystal-embellished patent-leather sandals, the Kayu Charlotte Clutch and Links of London Hope Rose Gold and Diamond Drop Earrings.

S. from E. - "I got inspiration for this look from the orange midi dress Crown Princess Mary of Denmark wore when she was at Ascot with Kate in 2016." We have the L.K. Bennett Cortona Printed Dress in orange. The sleeveless shape, deep V-neck and mid-calf pleated skirt work to flatter the silhouette. It is teamed with the Annette hat by Annabel Allen Millinery, Kate's L.K. Bennett Sledge pumps and Avona clutch.

Snarrbucks - Snarrbucks chose the Shoshanna Short Sleeve Lace Midi Dress with embroidered floral design. The dress is teamed with Stuart Weitzman NearlyNude Block Heel Sandals and Her Majesty's Pear Drop earrings.

Anne (Texas) - "For Royal Ascot, the Roksanda Margot crepe jumpsuit with Kate's black hat from her first Trooping the Colour with her art deco bracelet and matching earrings and her Gianvito Rossi black suede pumps and the Kate Spade evening belles zurie with flower gem clutch and (if the Queen is feeling generous) the Queen's six petal diamond floral brooch. If that is too much black for Royal Ascot or for those who don't like everything matchy-matchy, I'd switch out the shoes and clutch for Kate's neutral LK Bennett sledges and the LK Bennett nina beige nappa leather clutch."

Darla - Darla chose the Hugo Boss Slim-Fit Shift Dress with draped ribbon detail and the Flame hat by Jill Millinery. The hat is described as "flamed sculpture accent with matching veiling and fitted with elastic for easy all day wear".

Deb from Brazil - Deb joins several of our readers who would simply love to see the Duchess wearing dresses by the talented Caroline Herrera. There certainly is a very regal feel to many of the looks in the designer's collections. For Ascot, Deb chose a short sleeve green and cream print dress with a full skirt.

Nicole - Nicole would like to see the Duchess wear the Needle & Thread Jet Frill ruffled embellished tulle dress from the new Victoriana-inspired collection. The Jane Taylor Favite small cocktail hat with silk roses and crin bow, Jimmy Choo Celeste Clutch and Stuart Weitzman Sandals in Metallic Leather wrap up the ensemble.

Julie from NC - Julie chose a white floral print Erdem dress with sheer sleeves and black trim sported by Miranda Kerr with a black and white hat, Kiki McDonough earrings, Kate's black Jimmy Choo Vikki pumps and an updo.

Tammy from California - The Anthropologie Carissima Sheath dress. Tammy noted: "I would have the clasps on the front taken out (they make the dress look too much like a corset) and sewn up. I would change the ribbon belt to black." For shoes, it's the Langley Ruffle Pointy Toe Mule. The look is completed with Diana's Black Stone Earrings: "Hair up just like the following picture, with same hat, only replace flower with a black and white striped flower just like this one."

Courtney from NC - "I know this Ascot look is a departure but hey, why not! So the dress would need to be tweaked to work for Ascot. Get rid of the straps and make it a cap or flutter sleeve and the dress would work and be fun." Below, the Dolce & Gabbana Floral-Print Silk-Twill Midi Dress. The hat would be altered and without the black and white ribbon and replaced with a purple ribbon drawing from the purple in the dress. Courtney continued: "Shoes - a bespoke color in these shoes. Leave the black but sub out the pink for a matching purple to the ribbon on the hat." We also have Kate's lavender Kiki McDonough earrings.

Royalfan - Royalfan chose the magenta Carolina Herrera Cap-Sleeve Boat-Neck Dress styled with a statement white Philip Treacy hat and a soft pink Alexander McQueen skull clutch. For jewellery, Royalfan opted for Diana's pearl earrings and triple strand pearl bracelet (pieces we've seen Kate wearing in recent months) and an updo. Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals complete the look.

Rebecca from Across the Pond - "In the Royal Repeats category; I would love to see the green Temperley London dress from the India/Bhutan Tour styled with the mystery clutch purse from 2016 Garden Party and the amber earrings from the Poland tour. To finish off new shoes from Ted Baker and to an Ascot worthy froth of a chapeau from John Boyd (with hair decidedly up!)."

Ballina from Austria - Ballina would also love to see a repeat of Kate's Temperley Desdemona Dress accessorised with a statement Philip Treacy flower hat, Rupert Sanderson Nada Ferrari Glitter Delta pumps and the Mansur Graviel Moon mini suede clutch.

Indigoisle - Jonathan Simkhai describes his Pre-Fall '17 collection as "both delicate and sharp, vulnerable and powerful". Indigoisle chose his blue Corded Lace Dress with the Jane Taylor Lule customised in navy, the L.K. Bennett Helena Navy Suede Sandals and the Jimmy Choo Celeste clutch.

We'll see you on Wednesday afternoon, when William, Kate and Harry visit the White Garden at Kensington Palace on the eve of Diana's 20th anniversary.

I loved many of the choices from the last post. This time there are quite a few wonderful things again. From many sets I loved one single thing: the hat or the clutch or the dress...

    Examples:
bluhare: I love the 50s style of the dress.
Lily: love the earrings and the cutch!
Anne (Texas): I would love her to be brave and wear a jumpsuit. (Even though I don't really like them. :)) Not sure about black though for Ascot. (But for another occasion, yes!) And nice clutch - bracelet - combo.
Darla: Very nice! Would be something different. And this nice dramatic hat with her dark hair...
Julie from NC: love the hat
Courtney: Would love the dress. (And would like to buy the version you described myself. :D)
Royalfan: Did Kate every wear this kind of boat-neck? It's a nice move to use the silhouette Kate seems to prefer and to switch it up a little.
I just mentioned single items that jumped out to me. The rest was great too and you can see immediately that a lot of thoughts went into it. I'm looking forward to the rest.

    1. Thank you Francesca. I wanted something different; something Kate wouldn't normally wear and something frothy. Ascot is frothy to me.

    2. Thank you! I wasn't sure about black for Ascot either, but it didn't come in other colors. I would have suggested another color scheme, but really want to see the black Trooping the Colour hat again. Maybe this jumpsuit in white with black accessories would have been more suitable for Ascot? I'm usually not a big fan of jumpsuits either, but when I saw the revised Ascot rules I just automatically wanted to see the Duchess try it out. If anyone could make a jumpsuit elegant from Ascot, it's our Kate.

    3. Bluhare, Ascot means frothy and floral to me too, so loving your whole look. Beautiful vintage print and the color combination is lovely. Are those fabulous shoes your own?

When U saw the new jumpsuit rules, I thought how fun if a royal lady should try that, although only Kate really has the figure for it. The black hat is brilliant with it. I doubt Kate would ever be so daring but we can dream!

    5. She might try it for that event where she wore the Hyderabad necklace? The National portrait Gallery? I think she might take a risk that there. Remember that short skirt light blue dress she wore that had the longer skirt over it? Did she wear it there? I would so like for her to wear that pantsuit outfit you chose to that to the National Portrait Gallery. I agree that she might not be brave enough to wear that to Ascot.

    6. Hi Erika, believe it or not the shoes are my least favorite part of the outfit. I have a pair of lavender suede shoes I almost used, but then it would have been too monotone, and I was going for some froth with color! Tea party'ish (without the political connotations) if you will.

      Delete
    7. I get you, bluhare, but I do think these green shoes are beautuful. Perfect color and style for the dress imo.

    8. Hi Francesca, yes, I believe that Kate has worn a similar neckline. A gray dress, if I am not mistaken.

  2. Thank you for creating images of these beautiful looks! Everything is so lovely. There definitely are so many talented stylists on this blog!

Charlotte, I was wondering if you could still include the Michael kors shoes in admiral to my look?
I posted this link as an answer to my original comment containing the rest of the links for dress, hat, etc because I had forgotten it... a look just does not seem complete without footwear, you know?

Oh my, so many more pretty outfits! Nothing against Kate's stylist, but she should ditch her and just use this blog/the "Styling Kate" posts as inspiration ;)

Especially Little Miss Sunshine 's outfit caught my eye as it looks like it would totally be kate's style. All the different shades of blue combined go together so well and I adore the hat!

Some other beautiful things I want to honour/highlight:

The lovely hats picked by: Downton Abbey Fan, Lily (I love Madeleine of sweden! She just announced her pregnancy with #3), S. From E., Rebecca from Across the pond

Stunning dresses from: Royalfan, Julie from NC, Deb from Brazil, Darla, KMFan, Alaina from New Jersey, Bluehare, Andrea from NY

This has become a tradition on the blog I look forward to every August :)

While I love so many of these ensembles and can't wait for the final post, there is one single piece I absolutely adore - the Jess Colette Iris hat suggested by Alain from New Jersey. Can't you just see it on the Duchess!!

  6. Little Miss Sunshine's outfit is the best in my opinion. Beautifully harmoizing pieces. Lily's and Alaine's sets also beautifully composed. I would love to see Kate in dresses like these ones.

  7. WOW! Wonderful selections, everyone! I think the Duchess could pull any of these looks off with aplomb. :) I am still very much a happy rider on the floral train, so the Needle and Thread dress with sheer sleeves (and that hat!) or the white and black Erdem may be my top choice.

    1. I am so glad you also love the Rachel Trevor-Morgan hat, when I saw it, it was love at first sight and then I was lucky enough to find a perfectly matching floral dress! The hat would be a step out of Kate's comfort zone, but oh, what an eye-catcher!

    2. Downton Abbey fan, you created a beautiful look. Nice to see such a pretty dress with that incredibly romantic statement hat. I haven't seen a Rachel Trevor Morgan hat I didn't like in these blog submissions yet. I don't think Kate has worn any of her designs yet but she should.

    3. Kate has worn Rachel Trevor-Morgan at least twice (that's how I found her collection, I did not know any British milliners so I just googled the creators of some of my favourite Kate hats),
For example this gorgeous hat (still one of my favourites Kate has ever worn): https://www.google.de/amp/s/www.popsugar.co.uk/fashion/photo-gallery/22272311/image/22272339/Rachel-Trevor-Morgan-Blue-Hat/amp

  8. My favorite choices would be 1.Courtney from NC-I love the design of the Dolce & Gabbana Floral-Print Silk-Twill Midi Dress,
2.Nicole-The tulle dress is so hippy and boho, Kate would look seriously chic in it.
3.Snarrbucks- The dress reminds me of the wine lace dress she wore when she met the Chinese President and his wife. IMO the dress is more suited for an evening event, but Kate could pull it off for a day event as well.
    4. Indigoisle- I love the blue color of the dress and how the lace design is interplayed on the arms and at the hem.
    Thank You Charlotte!!XOXO

Gorgeous and inspiring choices - what fun!! And so beautifully arranged by Charlotte.
I do however have 2 favourites.
Anne (Texas) - HOW BOLD!!! I love it! Black and diamonds. Classic evening translated into Ascot. I probably would have thrown in some colour or cream but I also like the all black.
Indigoisle - this outfit blew me away. I don't even know where to start. For me, it's absolute perfection. Modest yet extravagant.
    Well done everyone!

  12. Such a compelling collection of gorgeous outfits you’ve created, ladies, and Duchess Kate would look breathtaking in each and every one of your creations. Superb, indeed!

There is no way for me to pick a 'best look for the Duchess' because, unfortunately, I suffer from a bout of ‘severe lace-fatigue’ – it’s not contagious and I’ve been told that it, too, shall pass ... However, due to my ailment, the look I’d want for the Duchess for now is one of the outfits suggested by (in no particular order) Bluhare, Alaina from NJ, Downton Abbey Fan, Little Miss Sunshine, Louise, London, S. from E., Darla, Deb from Brazil, Nicole, Julie from NC, and Royalfan.

Big thanks again to Charlotte for providing us with this fun and entertaining fashion swing, and for all the long hours of work that you invest to present our proposals to the best advantage :-) ~

    My favorite from this selection:
Little Miss Sunshine - I can see Kate in this dress and look fabulous. The dark blues on white is simply beautiful.

Darla - I love this look, I'm not sure I love it for Ascot but it is definitely a favorite.

Courtney from NC - I agree that this is a departure but it is in a fabulous direction. Kate could pull this off and I think it would also make her stand out in a great way.

  16. Stopping by the HRH Duchess Kate blog and encountering all this wonderful fashion made my night! Great job again everyone! I look forward to part 3 and to the movie premiere looks as well. Some of the highlights for me:

Alaina from New Jersey - I love the GOAT creme bow-embellished dress and think it would be very versatile for Kate's wardrobe. I can see it at Ascot, but also at a patronage visit or garden party.
Lily - How clever to "borrow" from other royals. Kate should also take a tip from you and style her white/cream looks with colorful accessories.
KMFan - Love the soft pink with the burgundy accessories and would very much enjoy seeing this hat again.
Acorn and Rose Fashion Blog - I love the sleeves and color/print of this Erdem dress. Ruffles and the Duchess can equal danger for me, but I think they would be less overwhelming if the dress was shortened per your suggestion.
Deb from Brazil - This Carolina Herrera dress might be my favorite one yet suggested
Royal Fan - I love the neckline on the Carolina Herrera dress.
Rebecca from Across the Pond and Balina from Austria - I hope we see this dress again!

  17. So excited to see Round Two this morning. I have to say, I was quite 'taken' by the Carolina Herrera styling by Royalfan, KMfan and Deb from Brazil. Just really loving the exquisite, sleek looks and fabrics by this designer.

Did really love the Hugo Boss dress by Darla and what a show-stopper that would be but felt Kate should step out at a more modern event – maybe a museum? – for that look and everyone would gasp in awe.

Again, the hats didn’t disappoint me. Favorites included Bluehare’s and Alaina’s.

Nice work everyone! I wish I could see the price tag for everyone’s submission. After all I look at this task as “oh goody, get to spend someone else’s money.”

Another set of great selections - such wonderful creativity - and thanks again Charlotte for your beautiful job on this huge project.

Siddhii - I love how many people have used Kate's favourite lace as a starting point and this green dress is Ascot perfect. I can see Kate wearing this. It works perfectly with the Kiki earrings and the dress has a lovely sheen.
Andrea from NY - I have a weakness for pink so love this choice - it has the right - in my eyes- balance of formality, without the very fussy, formal lace Kate has worn previously. The hat reuse is perfect for Ascot.
bluhare - You and I must share a passion for vintage and I wish Kate would discover it - almost picked a vintage gown for the evening choice. Love your use of colour here - the lavender and green are perfect for Kate and everything ties in.
bluefire - a great high street choice for Kate - the print is so pretty and would really become her - love the shoes too - it's time she tried Manolo. If I still had the feet of my youth, I would be tempted by that pair.
Alaina from New Jersey - you did what I tried to do - pulled Kate back into the simple sleek look she wore when she was first married and the Goat dress is a great choice - love making it Ascot perfect with a fancier hat - and that bracelet is a perfect find for Ascot - I'm amazed every time we do this at the details posters find and put together.
Downton Abbey Fan - Not sure if it's you or Charlotte who loves Needle and Thread but either way I completely agree and was so hoping Kate would choose something for the India tour. This dress is beautifully embroidered and a lovely shade of green and shows what an interesting pair of shoes can do - hope Kate grows wise to that.
Lily - I think I hear Beatrice wailing NO! out there somewhere - Madeleine is probably too busy to mind, being newly pregnant. Seriously, that dress is a great platform for accessories and you've chosen brilliantly. That YSL bag is a gem.
KM Fan - Another great pink lace dress - the sleeveless style makes it less overpowering than the white ones Kate has featured - I love the pairing with burgundy accessories and picking a hat of Kate's that would be perfect for Ascot - with a touch of lace to go with the dress - it seems meant to be.
Little Miss Sunshine - When looking at Kate with her cream and beige, I wondered what colours could liven things up, and the white and blue combination is perfect - the hat works brilliantly with the dress - with great earrings and shoes - this is a very unified look that would be great on Kate.
Acorn and Rose - a very fashion forward look from one of Kate's favourite designers - and a creative choice for a hat - I'm not the greatest boho fan but this might convert me - it would also be a great choice for Mette-Marit of Norway, should she ever come to Ascot.
Louise, London - like you I think the balance of formality is everything when choosing for Ascot - and this dress works beautifully - I have to admit black and white is one of my favourite choices for Ascot - it goes so well with the men's suits and has such a crisp look (all right, it's probably what I would wear.) I love the look of the unfussy hat and sandals with the dress - it's a very relaxed look - perfect in my eyes.
S from E - I loved Mary's orange dress - just the right level of formality - but I like this even better - the grey softens the orange and the hat you've chosen picks that up. This would be a great print on Kate and again has that relaxed feel I personally like for races.
It's amazing what everyone has come up with and I've not only enjoyed looking but have picked up names of designers for accessories I wasn't familiar with. Look forward to commenting on the others later in the day.

    1. Julia, I also prefer the more relaxed vibe for Ascot - sometimes it just seems a bit too formal/stiff for a day out in summer watching horse races.
That's why I picked this dress, the hat makes it more 'fancy' again while tge dress itself is light, flowy and comfortable :)

Julia, I also have a weakness for pink and think that Kate wears it so beautifully. I'm thinking particularly of the Alexander McQueen dress debuted in Adelaide, Australia and another Lela Rose dress, the blush pink fit and flare dress worn in Cornwall in 2016.

    3. Julia from Leominster31 August 2017 at 22:09

I love pink too - Kate re-wore that Adelaide dress for an evening event but it might have done for Ascot as well with a hat - the Lela Rose in Cornwall wanted jewellery in my opinion - I would love to see Kate take these simple dresses she looks so well in - like the lavender in Germany which was such a great colour, and find some lovely pieces from craft jewellers to accent them. Nothing heavy, just something to give character. (I even found a Cornish jeweller with lovely things - she could have worn, just for the fun of it. I do think people love it if you use something local - it shows caring.)

The dress you chose in my personal opinion would have been a lovely choice for Pippa's wedding and far less mum of bride than what Kate did wear. It's truly a beautiful dress - lacy but not at all ponderous much like that cream lace Kate wore before her marriage that I very much liked.

  19. Julia from Leominster29 August 2017 at 08:43

For the balance of these great looks -
Snarrbucks - I love this dress - the lace is perfect for Kate, the lines are graceful and not fussy, and the colour is one I think is brilliant on Kate - mainly seen so far on that too short Paule Ke suit. The queen's earrings are ones she loaned to Diana and seems likely to loan again - they would add sparkle to the look.
Anne - Texas (hope you are safe!) Wow!! That's the only word I can come up with. After sixty-five years on the throne, I don't think much leaves the queen speechless, but if Kate strolled in in this asking to borrow jewels, I think HM would just wordlessly gesture for Angela to go to the vault. I don't truthfully think it a likely Kate look - although I can see Charlene of Monaco rocking in it - love the shoes and bag and choice of hat.
Darla - back on safer ground here - Boss has done a lot for Letizia and I would love to see Kate use them - this dress is amazing - love that draped ribbon and the hat picks up the swirl effect beautifully - and this is one dress that needs a small hat. I can just see Kate wear something with an edge like this - I wish she would.
Deb from Brazil - Herrera, like de la Renta, produces the sort of clothes perfect for any royal lady - Kate would be completely comfortable in this lovely dress and the green would pick up the colour of her eyes.
Nicole - more beautiful romantic Needle and Thread - I think this dress would make Kate feel very happy, feminine but not stuffy - I love the use of silver accessories with it.
Julie from N.C. - Those flowers are beautiful - this is an Erdam that seems perfect for Kate and I like the pairing of black with it - a bit unexpected. A good choice of Kiki earrings too. Wish Kate will try a causal knot for her hair - now it's shorter it could be managed.
Tammy from California - This is even better than what I hoped to accomplish - a white lace dress that isn't frilly and stiff but sleek and sexy - this meets that! I love the black with it and the use of Diana's earrings - and great suggestions. (Not sure I understand about the hat but the idea sounds good.)
Courtney from N.C. - this would be a departure but Kate might surprise us! The print is gorgeous and the look suits the weather this year - love your bespoke details - per Ascot rules, the sleeve change is probably safer although these straps might be wide enough. The hat works beautifully - I could see this for a tour in a hot climate too.
Royalfan - I have to admit this look is one of my favourites for Kate - love the colour for her, the tailored lines of the dress, the understated hat and the glmaourous shoes - this is the type of sophistication I would like to see her embrace.
Rebecca from across the pond and Bellina from Austria - We think alike - if Kate had worn a repeat, I thought this would be a great choice - I like how both of you have styled it - Rebecca those shoes with the rosettes would be a perfect way to take the boring out of beige whilst still being the shape Kate likes - love the Boyd hat and that mystery clutch is one of her prettiest -
Bellina - the same with the courts - I love the subtle glitter and I like a soft pink paired the with green and that original Treacy hat.
Indiagoisle - that blue dress is another of my absolute favourites - picking the lace theme in a great and easy shape and just a little daring - this is a designer I hope Kate discovers.

    1. I don't really know the designer for my dress. I found only that picture and went from there. I thought it was in Kate's wheel house on many levels and a bit different with the black embellishments/accessories, just like you said.

Kate wore those earrings and owns them. We've only seen them once at a Garden Party. I think it was at Holyroodhouse when she wore the hat that looks like a cinnamon bun.

To be honest, I found picking a look for Ascot challenging. I've never been to the races, other than NASCAR here in the US. Then it very much a 'relaxed' dress code.

    2. Balbina - Austria30 August 2017 at 02:30

Thanks Julia, I thought it would be a shame if this dress disappears into the archives. In my opinion it's perfect for a day at the races. It was however rather challenging to find a matching hat. Quite frankly, I think this Treacy creation is rather outrageous and a bit unlike Kate but then .... what the heck, I like it!! : )

    3. Thank you, Julia. :-)

I do like the larger hats and I thought this one was nice without going into Maxima or Camilla territory.

      Delete
    4. Julia from Leominster31 August 2017 at 22:01

I agree royalfan and that dress is inspired - Kate could wear it so many places. (As you know, I'm not a fan of Camilla's demented chicken look and quite honestly a lot of those hats of Maxima's seem over the top too - more attention getting than proportioned and elegant - she should be a sight if she ever goes to Ascot.

Balbina I loved that hat - and the one Rebecca from across the Pond chose too - I really think that mint dress is meant for a return at Ascot - and a striking hat takes it out of old news.

Julie fro N.C. Erdem is a favourite of Kate and other royal ladies - so I could see that dress appearing - it's lovely. Clothing for Ascot can be very over the top - and fun to look at and choose for that reason - but personally I like a simpler look. (What do you wear for NASCAR - jeans or trousers or a pretty dress? - or would a jumpsuit be over the top as Charlene has worn to races?

Lovely choices again, ladies, BRAVO to you all!! If I was Kate, I would be on my computer now with my credit card right next to me, shopping all these lovely looks, while simultaneously asking HM whether it would be ok to attend Ascot full-time next year... ;-)))) oh, AND all the garden parties because, you know, you have to wear all these lovely clothes somewhere, don´t you?

No, not from the south, sg. England is as far south as I go. I was going for a frothy tea party type thing that Audrey Hepburn might have worn. I think Kate looks lovely in full skirts when she wears them, but I also think she could bump up her color game.

  22. Hello, we have a few calendar updates to share.

4 September - The Duchess of Cambridge will visit Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London on Monday 4th September. The centre, which provides families with valuable support, will host a discussion about perinatal mental health services which are delivered by the charity Family Action, of which Her Majesty The Queen is patron.

7 September - Prince George starts school. We can expect to see photos as one photographer will be there.

November - The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will undertake a tour according to royal reporter Emily Andrews. Details, duration and location are unknown at this point.

We'll have more on this in tomorrow's post, but I thought I would share this much info now.

So happy that we will get photos of George's 1st day of school while it will be calm for him with only 1 photographer (he will already be nervous enough, bless his heart) - maybe Chris Jackson? He seems close-ish to the Cambridges as Natasha's hubby.

And maybe the tour will be of Norway like it was rumored around spring time when William said to a Norwegian athlete (I think) that they will visit norway later this year?

Anyways, so exciting! Thanks for keeping us up to date!

    2. Julia from Leominster29 August 2017 at 17:23

The only thing I regret is apparently no Braemar Games - which I'm fairly sure come at the beginning of September - the third if I remember correctly - I would love to see William and Kate have more open links to Scotland and the Games would be a start. (not to mention the possibility of a tartan Kate styling feature.)

Otherwise great to see them back to work - and nice there's the possibility of a tour (Norway in November? brrr.)

Our stylists have really made this usually slow month fly by (except for poor Charlotte!) It's lovely to see so many names out there participating.

      Delete
    3. I will eagerly await tour details. I know Norway or another European destination is likely in the aftermath of Brexit, but I for one am hoping for a Commonwealth tour - the Caribbean or (dare to dream) Africa. Harry and William have visited Africa together before and I would love to see William, Kate, and Harry combine for a visit to Africa.

      Delete
    4. I agree Julia. I was hoping this year would be their inaugural attendance & be a yearly event here after.

Anne (Texas) I remember hearing that William let Norway slip earlier this year. I bet that is where they are going combined with another country or 2

      Delete
    5. I'm excited about Kate's upcoming engagements and even more so about another tour coming up!
Norway seems like a good guess because of William's comment and as it's not a member of the EU, connections might prove very valuable later on. I think it's likely that it's going to be combined with another Scandinavian country or two - Sweden perhaps.
Yes, Scandinavia in November would be cold but also very beautiful and it would be interesting to see Kate's clothing choices for cold Scandinavian weather. And how exciting would it be to see them meet with the Scandinavian royals? :)

  24. As in the first part, all beautiful choices by each participant. Not a bad ensemble in the lot. Kate has decades of lovely Ascot outfits right here, so she need not look any place else. I made a few comments under a couple threads for the pieces that spoke to my individual aesthetic sense. A few more standouts for me were....

Nicole- Needle and Thread does not disappoint, does it. So pretty!

Tammy CA- I'm a huge Anthropologie fan, so love your sophisticated dress choice for our Duchess. Fabulous mules as well!

Lily- I'm in love with your earring and clutch choice.

Darla- What an amazing hat!....and you found the perfect dress to complement it. I hope the DoC embraces Hugo Boss someday soon.

I would love to comment on each entry but I have 3 kiddos looking at me, so I need to get moving on their back to school shopping. Really, interesting and beautiful choices by everyone though. Hopefully, I can swing over to Part One and leave a couple of comments for some really exquisite outfits I saw there.

Siddhi - Love the green dress! Kate looks so lovely in green this would be a lovely, flattering look for her.

Andrea from NY - It is perfectly pink, perfectly lacey and perfectly Kate! I could totally see Kate in this look.

Bluhare - Love it! Totally work for Kate and for Ascot. The dress is fun and that purse is amazing!

Bluefire - I love that dress. Frothy and floaty yet so feminine. It eould look so lovely on Kate.

Alaina - The Goat DRESS is the perfect neutral backdrop for that amazing hat. The look is so Kate down to the last accessory. Love!

Downton Abbey Fan - That hat was MADE for Ascot! The dress is cute and fun but the hat is totally the superstar of the outfit!

KMFan - This is another very Kate look. The soft pink is very nice on Kate and I so wish she'd add this designer to her favorites list.

Little Miss Sunshine - Adore this look! The print of the dress, the flare of the skirt, the color of the hat! Love it!

Acorn - I think this is another DRESS Kate would totally wear. If not to Ascot then to another event. The color is beautiful.

Louise - Love the hat so much! Totally different direction than a lot of Kate' s hats but definitely love it.

S from E - Prints may be different for Kate for Ascot but we know she normally doesn't shy away from them. The colors would look great against Kate's skin.

Snarrbucks - Another very Kate look. The lace, silhouette and color are all very her. She would look feminine and appropriate.

Anne - I am not a huge jumpsuit fan but Kate definitely has the body for them. What I love are the purse and DIAMONDS!!!

Darla - Hugo Boss is a label I want to see Kate in. Repeatedly. Often. This DRESS would be stunning on Kate. Red on Kate is always a good thing. Great job!

Deb - Love Herrera! The dress is beautiful and the color allows her to pair it with so many other shades or colors.

Nicole - I could really see Kate in neutrals if she veers away from white for Ascot. She would look lovely in this look.

Courtney NC - still not totally sold on this look.

Royalfan - I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS LOOK! The dress - fit, color, neckline -, the shoes!!!, and the hat all work so well.

Rebecca - this is not my favorite dress she's worn but that could be lace fatigue. The dress is very Ascot-y though. The cream accessories are so Kate.

Ballina - the pink accessories really play well off the green of the dress. Love the hat.

I think my overall favourite is Bluhare’s lavender and green ensemble, a close second would be Little Miss Sunshine’s blue and white outfit, and the third would be Lily’s white dress with the reddish purple accessories. But truly, I would LOVE to see Kate in Anne’s black crepe jumpsuit, perhaps with a hairdo and headpiece similar to the one Princess Madeleine’s wearing, but in bright crimson! I think she would rock it!

I also like orange, and especially the dress chosen by S from E. Darla's dramatic look is amazing. I would like to see it worn with Kate's black pumps and Diana's strand of large pearls at the throat. Courtney's dress with the handkerchief hem is very pretty, and the Temperley lace from India would be lovely for Ascot with either styling. - Little Miss Sunshine: I absolutely love the all the different shades of blue. So pretty!
    - Snarrbucks: Such a pretty color!
    - Julie from NC: So summery... and a nice change from the lace dresses that Kate usually favors.
    - Royalfan: Another lovely shade of pink. I also like the simple lines of this dress.
    - Deb from Brazil: I adore this dress. In fact, it's my personal favorite. I think it's stunning without going overboard… simple yet elegant. The green is lovely and would really bring out Kate's eye color.
