Happy Birthday, Princess Charlotte! The Cambridges' daughter, known affectionately as Lottie, celebrates her sixth birthday tomorrow. A lovely new photo of a smiling Charlotte, looking very grown up, taken by Kate in Norfolk this weekend, was released to mark the occasion.
The Sunday Times notes Charlotte looked cute as a button in the £59 Rachel Riley Floral Button-Front dress, which comes in multiple prints and is described as a "Rachel Riley favourite". The brand adds: "Puff-sleeved, button-front dress with a vintage floral print in contrast colours on a navy base. Trimmed with pink ric-rac trims and buttons." It's available for the 3-10 years range on Rachel Riley's website.
On 2 May, 2015, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge was born. The Duchess was admitted to St Mary's Hospital in the early stages of labour at 6 am. A baby girl weighing 8lbs 3oz was born at 8.34 am.
There was a burst of excitement when it was announced Kate had given birth to a girl. I remember when the Our Queen at Ninety documentary aired in 2016, Kate said Her Majesty was "thrilled" Charlotte was a girl. Of course, Charlotte's middle names are very fittingly Elizabeth after the Queen and Diana after her grandmother.
The excitement was only matched when these very sweet photos of George holding his little sister were released.
For Charlotte's first birthday, a darling new set of photos was released, taken by the Duchess at Anmer Hall. We were seeing a pattern of Kate increasingly taking photos of the children around that time, which meant we saw much more informal and natural shots, as the Cambridge kiddies are very much at ease with mum behind the lens.
An adorable new photo taken by the Duchess of Cambridge at Anmer Hall was released to mark Princess Charlotte's 2nd birthday. Charlotte was looking increasingly grown up and very much resembling her great-grandmother, Her Majesty.
I never realised how much the first photo of Charlotte with little Louis echoed a very similar one of her as a baby with George (shown above) until I looked through the photos some time later. This image marked both Charlotte's third birthday and our first look at the baby of the Cambridge family.
For her fourth birthday, we saw several lovely shots taken by the Duchess of Charlotte enjoying the outdoors.
Last year Charlotte was photographed by Kate on the Sandringham estate delivering parcels of homemade pasta.
Wishing the Princess a wonderful day!
With that, I want to congratulate Zora from Prague on winning the Historic Newspapers giveaway of a special commemorative book marking William and Kate's anniversary. Charlotte is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteLove that you share your "loved ones"with those of us who follow you Kate.Thank you and Happy Birthday Chsrlotte Elizabeth Diana
DeleteHappy birthday to a pretty and sweet little princess. Congratulations to Zora for winning the give away!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Birthday photo. Charlotte is cute as can be. She does look like Margaret and her daughter Sarah in this photo but I suspect Catherine and William's features will emerge over time. But who knows maybe she will be a mini me to Margaret and Sarah.:) If she does look like Margaret as a child it must be lovely for the Queen.
ReplyDeleteShe looks so grown up in this pic. She really is beautiful. I love the blonde in her hair. Catherine takes wonderful pictures of her family. I’m excited to watch these darling children grow into adults. Congrats to you Zora from Prague!!
ReplyDeleteJust an amazing little girl!! I say this a lot, but it's so smart of Kate to take photos. And she's really good. "We" get to see the kids and the kids avoid hordes of paparazzi chasing them. The rest of the RF seems to have followed this thought, and I love getting photos of happy smiling children instead children being chase. The dress is adorable and Charlotte looks so much older. Her hair is so pretty and sun-streaked. Lovely photo!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Charlotte! You look much older with your hair down. And you're such a beauty AND photogenic.
ReplyDeleteZora I am so so happy you won the giveaway, how exciting for you!! What a great birthday present! It's like getting two surprise gifts, the giveaway and the lovely photo of Princess Charlotte! She is growing up in to a beautiful young girl. Kate sure does know how to capture the best in her children! Congratulations Zora, enjoy!!! :) cc
ReplyDeleteCharlotte is a really stunning little girl. Her hair is now honey blonde? They do say beauty is only skin deep; but it will help in her position. They all look like friendly well-adapted children. I always enjoy these interesting flashback posts and photos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful photo of a beautiful, carefree little girl. She looks so like her daddy too.
ReplyDeleteWOW, if George is mini Michael and Louis is mini Kate, then in this photo Charlotte is a mini William! Beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteLize, I took a second look at the picture of Charlotte, and agree that she really favors William!
DeleteI agree - definitely William. Will be interesting to see how her looks progress but hope we'll see William when she's finishing high school.
DeleteWe all know she is a princess, absolutely adorable. But mom and dad have done a wonderful job of keeping them grounded. The picture of charlotte, with no shoelaces in her tennys. Oh my such memories of mine and other children.
DeleteHappy birthday Princess Charlotte! My daughter Zuzia celebrated her 8th birthday yesterday 🙂 Anna
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. What a beautiful photo. I’m sure you had a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely portrait of a regal young-lady; well done your Royal highnesses!
ReplyDeleteLittle Charlotte is growing up so fast! Her dress is very pretty & she looks like a fun-loving girl.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Zora! Hope you really enjoy the book ☺️
Oh no! I can’t take it! Lottie isn’t a little girl any more - she’s some how turned into big girl and I bet soon she’ll be a young lady. Beautiful at all ages, but she’s growing up too fast.
ReplyDeleteDoes it look like her hair has golden tints now? At first, just for a second, I thought she’d had highlights added, but I seriously doubt that’s the case. Is it the lighting or is her hair getting lighter as she ages?
I agree about the blonde high lights....so unusual. I hope her mom didn't do anything? I'ts probably from playing outside a lot which they do. And I was hoping to see a pony-tail or braid or hair clips...I kind of think this look is a little mature for a 6 year
Deleteold? But maybe I just want to keep her a ittle girl!
Happy Birthday dear Princess Charlotte
Since they spend a lot of time outside, it could be lightened by the sun. My hair (before gray) always lightened in the summer quite a bit.
DeleteBorder Terrier lover
Im also wondering since her hair in last year's photo was veey dark?
DeleteHer golden hair lights IMHO look normal. Maybe the kids have been doing a lot of swimming?
DeleteElle
I think her hair looks so much lighter because it was edited. The dress looks much darker in real life too, so my guess is the whole picture was brightened up (which is almost a standard step if you don't work with perfect set up lighting) which brought out her natural highlights much blonder than they really are.
DeleteC.
Her hair looks like it is 'sun-kissed', that's what my grandmother use to say! While I have always been very blonde, my sister had Charlotte's coloring and in the summer her hair would get lighter!! My grandmother use to rinse our hair in lemon juice and then have us sit outside to dry it, made our hair even lighter; sometimes she would use vinegar to make it shine! Think Charlotte is just outdoors quite a bit, maybe swimming and playing tennis, seems very active.
DeleteA very happy 6th Birthday to a sweet little girl. Pss Charlotte has grown a lot. The last time I seen a photo of her, her hair was dark, now she is ash blonde, very nice. She looks a lot like her mother. She is a mini Kate. Hope she has lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely beautiful. I have followed Princess Diana since she was engaged 💍 to Charles. She was the real deal. Her Sons and grandchildren are absolutely 💯 adorable. Wills married the right woman. Kate is herself, humble, kind, beautiful, she is a lot like her husband mom. RIP Diana. Love and Prayers.
ReplyDeleteIs it possible????!!!???🙃 Charlotte, I can't tell you how excited and happy I am! 😄 Beyond thrilled!!😃 It is a fantastic present for my birthday next month. Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sheila, Joanne, CeCe and Kiwi Gal 😊 I promise to let you know when the book arrives and to share some of the excitement with you!
Princess Charlotte is such a lovely girl! Her birthday photos from the past years show beautifully how she's evolved from a cute baby/toddler into a cute little girl and now a pretty girl who is not little any more! Each stage was beautiful and special and it's great to see the new stages coming. Happy birthday Princess Charlotte! 💐
Zora, congratulations, I'm delighted for you :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful young lady Charlotte is becoming. I continue to think she looks like Queen Elizabeth. Wonder if Her Majesty thinks so?
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely little girl! Congratulations, Zora - enjoy the book!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful girl. Happy Birthday Princess Charlotte.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Zora!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely, natural photograph of Charlotte - no need to pose for photographer, Mum. And I am struck by how very much like Queen Elizabeth she is.
Maybe a repeat post by me. I posted earlier to Lynn SC. I think Charlotte has blonde tones in her hair that show up depending on how her hair is styled, the time in sunshine:), photos lights. I though she looked great, a lovely 6 year old in her favorite dress and just being relaxed. FWIW I have Charlottes coloring and my hair looks extremely blonde to quite dark depending on the time of year, hairstyle and photo, and has been that way since I was 3 years old.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful girl! Happy 6th bday to a future Princess Royal!
ReplyDeleteA vibrant little girl turning 6! Time sure flies. At the moment I see a strong resemblance to William/Diana but that could all change as she grows up.
ReplyDeleteA little to evenly distributed blonde hair for a natural sun kissed look in the middle of early Spring. How strong is the sun that hangs over the UK, hmm...
ReplyDeleteFun fact, sun can lighten hair as it bleaches out the melanin and depending on the hair it can take only as little as 30 minutes to an hour in the sun. It will stay that way until new hair grows. Chlorine water also can lighten hair as can a number of natural remedies, lemons, apple cider vinegar, chamomile and honey. (I personally use a natural chamomile shampoo to keep my hair clear and clean). As natural a beauty as Kate is, don't believe for one minute she has Charlotte's hair highlighted chemically. Also its obvious Kate and her children spend quite a bit of time outdoors and am sure she takes all SPF precautions to maintain that beautiful skin not only for herself but her children as well. As to the sun that hangs over the UK, same strong UV rays that can cause a sunburn on a cloudy day. So believe that natural highlights are highly probable.
DeleteI remember swimming in a pool treated with chlorine in the summer and my hair turned quite blonde.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little lady. I see a resemblance to her brother around her eyes. My sister had true brunette hair which had blonde highlights every summer as we played outside. (I had red in my brown hair). I think the Duchess was trying to get Charlotte’s highlights in her own hair. Congratulations to Zora ! Thank you to our own Charlotte who always posts the previous years so we can see how the Cambridge children have grown.
ReplyDeleteTo the pretty princess, 'Happy birthday'.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday princess charlotte I been away for our birthday my grand ma just passing thru older ages I'm so happy that princess charlotte having a blast and she growing up
