The Cambridges Go Sailing for Jubilee Regatta

I'm back with a brief post covering the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's afternoon of sailing at Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee Regatta, Montague Harbour.

A moment's fine weather before the morning's rain returned.

Our News Bahamas revealed: "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are being chauffeured around the streets of Nassau by ASP Keith Ferguson in a purely Electric Vehicle."

People reports:

'Before the race, the couple checked out a mouthwatering display of freshly caught fish on the shore, with Kate picking up a "wonderful" hog snapper.

Fisherman Gregory John Brown showed off his recent catch including a spinet lobster, yellow fin tuna and Nassau grouper. "I held up this Nassau grouper for them and said I'd caught it in 80'- deep water near the Berry Islands," he told PEOPLE. "They said, 'Wow!'"

Fellow fisherman Gerald Davis was cleaning the catch of red snapper and trigger fish on a table as the couple passed. He told PEOPLE the royals "are awesome and very friendly."

Prince William and his team's boat, the Susan Chase, were victorious in the end. It was all in good sport and I suspect they were all soaked returning.

The Duchess sported the $40 Decathlon Tribord Waterproof Sailing jacket (with thanks to Middleton Maven for her ID work on this look).

The Duchess wore a Gill Marine polo t shirt (with thanks to Lady Parky).

This post will be updated as additional details become available. I'll see you for the evening reception in an hour.

  7. Not saying there’s anything wrong with Kates outfit, it’s fine. but Michelle Obama got huge backlash when she wore shorts this short. Ridiculous

  8. I was originally disappointed that she wore such neutral colors, but seeing the pictures of her with her team she really pops as does William wearing blue. I love that they got to do this and we’re good sports about the weather! I’m so impressed with their energy and professionalism! Sue
