The Wimbledon Men's Final is about to start! William and Kate have arrived with George and Charlotte for the outing. Kate's in green Roland Mouret, selecting the colour for all three Wimbledon appearances this year.
A closer look at the asymmetrical midi dress at My Theresa (with thanks to Gabi). It's also available at Farfetch.
I'll have a full post after the match.
Beautiful dress! Charlotte is going to be tall just like George. They are such a lovely family!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking dress, but it sure wrinkled a lot. And my own thing: I'd prefer it just below the knee, but that's not where the PofW is these days.
ReplyDeleteI agree MG, just below the knee would look great for summer.
DeleteIt did crease a lot. Great look though.
DeleteWhy is Princess Charlotte so often dressed in blue? Must she be color coordinated with Prince George's blue suits? It would be nice to see her in a different color. Perhaps pink, lavender, yellow or a dress with multi colored flowers and green leaves would be nice. All of those colors are appropriate for an 8 year old girl. Would anyone else like to see Charlotte in a color other than blue?
ReplyDeleteI agree I really think she should dress her in different colours .
DeleteThat’s is a better shade of green than the others this week but at that price I wouldn’t expect so many creases in it . TG
Those are all lovely possibilities, perhaps Charlotte herself prefers blue? It may be a color in which she is most comfortable. I’m sure we’ll see an expanded spectrum as she grows older. It’s so fun to watch the children grow!
DeleteI think it's the Wales strategy to protect Charlotte and lessen the interest from the press and the public in the children with repeated classic deja vu clothes.
DeleteMaggie, this is my only complaint about how the Wales dress. Blue CONSTANTLY. I have begun to HATE the color blue!!!!
DeleteLovely dress and color … I just wish Kate would shorten the length of her hair … super long hair is outdated on her and with her lovely long neck, something shorter with layering and angles would be stunning on her!!!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, George is the spitting image of his Uncle, Earl Spencer … Her definitely inherited rd the Spencer height!!!
Finally a fantastic Wimbledon look! Roland Mouret never fails.
ReplyDeleteI'm watching it live from across the pond & this is quite a match for the children to see! I agree, they are such a lovely family & I also think Charlotte & George will be tall.... perhaps like Granny Diana?
ReplyDeleteKate of course looks Amazing! William is obviously proud of his family & with good reason! :) xoxo
See you all after the match! It's a nail biter that's for sure!!
Beautiful family. Love the dress, what a lovely color. As always, Princess Kate looks gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCatherine saved the best till last! Her pale green looks for Wimbledon have not been great in my opinion, but this is perfection. She has always suited jewel tones. Lovely to see William, Charlotte and George too
ReplyDeleteIs that King Felipe of Spain in the Royal Box?
ReplyDeleteThe children grow up to fast
ReplyDeleteThis vibrant green and the whole style is a much better style than the light green, Queen Mum after she turned 80 outfit. It did wrinkle but at least it makes her look radiant and doesn’t drag her down.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see Charlotte in something different for official engagements for a change. 95% blue, always the same style of dress and shoes. I think she would look amazing in some stronger colours. And there are many beautiful options for girls her age to dress. Even is they want to establish a work uniform for her too, some variation should be possible.

I see that other people love this dress, but I think it's really a miss -- a problematic fabric that wrinkles badly, and a fit and length that accentuate the Princess's long-waistedness in an unflattering way. It's too bad, because this color works nicely on the Princess, who always wears rich greens well. I own one Roland Mouret in what must be an entirely different fabric, because it just doesn't wrinkle this way.
ReplyDeleteIt was nice that King Felipe traveled to the UK to cheer on his countryman. We, too, were cheering for Alcaraz in my house.
Yes! He was one happy king when his boy won!
ReplyDeleteI am disappointed in Kate. In her role she should support more than the ‘glamour’ matches. A Brit was in the mens doubles final on Saturday, she could have stayed to watch. A young Brit won the U14 title… wouldn’t it have been great to be presented with his trophy by the PofW? And has she watched any of the wheelchair matches? Frankly bring back the Duke of Kent unless she is prepared to do more for the less glamorous parts of the tournament. Love the colour of the dress but I don’t like the length on her, and given the detail is in the shoulders I would have preferred her hair back so that this could have been seen. LRB
ReplyDeleteTotally agree particularly as she said the BRF is to support all
DeleteI like this dress (yes, linen does wrinkle) but would like it much more with a shorter hemline, as others have noted.
