It's High Street Brands for Kate on Final Day of Royal Tour!

For the final day of their royal tour of Canada the Duke and Duchess' first engagements focused on learning more about mental health and family-based support services offered in Victoria.

Their first stop was the Cridge Centre for the Family. The centre provides shelter, care and hope for children, women, families and the elderly from all walks of life and abilities.

The Duke and Duchess did a walkabout with reporters noting "they took their time to speak with children".

Kate appeared delighted to be chatting with this little girl.

These adorable little ones waiting to meet the royals.

During the walkabout Kate revealed George loves pizza and pasta. More from the Mail Online:

'Kate chatted with 20-year-old Zara Auld from Victoria and her mother Anne Auld. Kate asked me what I like to do and I told her cooking' said Zara. 'She asked me what and I said Italian like pizza and pasta and she said George loves that.'
Mrs Auld said the centre has provided invaluable support to them as a family adding 'it's been a dream come true meeting the Duchess'

Meanwhile, William chatted to locals about yesterday's fishing.

'William joked about the fishing yesterday and the pre-caught fish Kate picked up.
He told Mrs Clark when she greeted him at the Cridge centre: 'We didn't catch anything! It's typical whenever we go anywhere All the best laid plans go to pot. That salmon (pre caught) was the biggest fish I've seen! It was a great day.'

The Duchess received a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

Kate noticed a little girl dressed as Elsa from Frozen. More from The Telegraph's article:

The Duchess recognised a little girl dressed as character Elsa from the wildly popular children's film, after seeing she was wearing a princess dress. Netusha Danister, seven, and her mother Amalee were among hundreds of people who met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at a family centre in Victoria, Canada. "She asked me 'are you a princess?'," said Netusha. "And I said yes then she asked me about Frozen and said 'what's your favourite character? "And I said 'Elsa' and she liked that.'"

The Cridge Centre for the Family is western Canada’s oldest registered non-profit society and is proud of its rich history. Founders Bishop Edward Cridge and his wife Mary, outstanding pioneers of Victoria, came to Victoria as Chaplain of the Hudson’s Bay Company in 1855. The Bishop opened Christ Church, the first Anglican church in British Columbia and later became its Dean. In 1874, with a large number of Victoria pioneers, he formed the Church of Our Lord, which opened its doors in January 1876, Cridge having become a bishop of the Reformed Episcopal Church.

Cridge is sometimes described as Victoria’s first social worker. Along with his wife Mary, he pioneered many social and cultural causes in the city, including taking the initiative which led to the creation of the Royal Jubilee Hospital. An anti-racist and champion of education, Cridge served as the first superintendent of education and his wife taught the first Sunday school. His wife Mary, with others, took in orphan children which led to the founding of the BC Protestant Orphan’s Home in 1873.

Cridge

William and Kate met several of the families who have benefited from the centre's services.

The Duke and Duchess unveiled a monument dedicated to those who have overcome adversity.

Next, the couple travelled to a downtown café with members of the Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre.

The Kelty Mental Health Resource Centre is a provincial resource centre that provides mental health and substance use information, resources, and peer support to children, youth and their families from across BC. The organisation provides peer support to people of all ages with eating disorders and information and resources on a wide range of mental health and substance use issues affecting children and youth as well as help navigating the mental health system. All services are free of charge.

Next, it was time for sailing from Ogden Point into Victoria’s Inner Harbour on the tall ship Pacific Grace.

The Duchess chatted with well-wishers. Our reader Mellie kindly shared this lovely picture she took.

William and Kate went sailing with children from Sail and Life Training Society (SALTS) and Jack.org. SALTS uses the training and teamwork required to sail a tall ship as a way to engage, inspire heal and mentor young people from all walks of life. Jack.org is a national charity dedicated to supporting student leadership in mental health promotion and advocacy work across Canada. Jack.org works with youth across the country to start conversations that are tailored to address the diverse community needs and realities.

The Duchess was eager to take the wheel. The ship's captain said "The Duchess was hauling on the halyard on the fore sail, really giving it some, "She stuck it out the whole time. She was tough!"

William and Kate got stuck in with some gusto - pulling the rigging and hoisting the sail.

Victoria Murphy shared this fun tidbit.

More from The Telegraph:

'William took one line Kate, in cream Zara jacket and skinny black Zara jeans worked the other line. After meeting real life sailors, the Duke told one he was "very jealous" of his full beard. "That is the most amazing specimen I have ever seen" he told bosun Steve Atkinson. "Seriously that is incredible, it must have taken you ages but you must be very proud. "I'm very jealous." The Duchess added their brothers, Prince Harry and James Middleton, were "competing on the beard-growing front", according to Mr Atkinson.'

Royal reporters noted they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Lisa Guiney  met the Duchess and posted this video on her Twitter Feed.

Kate's jacket and jeans are by ZARA.

The talented ladies at What Kate Wore's Facebook Page identified the blazer as the Ivory One Button Blazer. It's a past season piece and completely sold out. Below, we shot it at Poshmark.

It very much looks like Kate wore the same H&M off-the-shoulder top she debuted for engagements on the Isles of Scilly last month. The fitted white top comes in rib-knit fabric with short sleeves. It originally retailed for $35, before reducing to $15 and selling out.

Kate's striking new shoes are the £278 J. Crew Avery Heels in Tweed (with thanks to Bojanana). The Italian-made, pointed-toe style features textured tweed fabric, tassel details and a stacked heel for maximum wearability and comfort. The shoes are also available in velvet burgundy at Net-A-Porter. What do you think of Kate's new style? It's refreshing to see her trying a new look and they worked well with the blazer and jeans.

Kate accessorised with her Asprey necklace with charms from the Woodland Collection.

And her Annoushka pearl drops with Kiki McDonough hoops. The Duchess wore her hair in a low ponytail.

For the sailing, the Duchess changed into her £350 Troy London Wax Parka. The lightweight coat is made from 100% cotton milled in England with a dry wax finish. A black sports-luxe lining provides 100% waterproof protection. Below, we show the jacket in khaki green.

Kate changed into the Superga 'Cotu' Sneakers (with thanks to WWKD). The sneakers are described as "The textured contrast sole sets off the low-profile design, and the label and logo-embossed eyelets lend branded appeal.". They come in several colours and are currently reduced from $65 to $49 at Nordstrom. They are also available at ShopBop. Superga is an Italian brand of shoes founded in 1911. It originally made tennis shoes, including the famous model "2750 Classic" but then diversified.

The Cambridge will leave Canada shortly with an official departure from Victoria's inner harbour.

  1. It's fun to see her wear a chunky heel. Is she wear her Asprey Woodland Charms necklace?

What a way to end the tour with some absolutley great causes! Mental health, families, youth! All dear causes to the royals!

What a great and sophisticated casual look. Love the black and white! And some cool new shoes as well! Not my kind of shoe (not that fond of that much point etc) but I absolutley appriciate the variety. I'm not one of those who get annoyed by her standard choices, but it is very fun when she changes it up! And the black tassle does a great job of tieing the shoes to the outfit!

Her hair is looking great as well! Some nice hair variety this tour! A very polished princess pony, indeed. I love the softness around her face.

Oh, she looks striking! And another new style of shoe. I like them. So great to see shoes with chunky heels coming back into style. (Even as a young woman, I fell over if I put on anything remotely high-heeled or with a tiny base; weak ankles, I guess!) I love the pure white of the jacket. And the casual but chic hair. There has been a lot of talk about skinny jeans/pants on this blog and whether they are appropriate. I would prefer narrow to skinny, but skinny is the style these days and if anybody can wear them, she can, with those long thin legs. Still, for me, all the wrinkles of the skinny jeans detract from the otherwise clean lines in the outfit. But that's a quibble.

Rebecca, thank you for your link yesterday to the MacLean's Magazine article about this trip. It was very informative about the political background. I think William is laying some groundwork for the day when he does become, as you wrote, Queen (a great typo!). I also read the article in MacLean's about how the Kate Effect hit Sentaler after she wore their jacket; it mentions this blog (though not by name) and Sonshine (though not by name)!

  5. I think I love everything but the shirt under the blazer. I don't quite understand a not quite matching white and I don't care for the texture. But I love the hair and shoes, and for the most part the outfit as a whole.

  7. Love those shoes! She's worn a few retro styles this week. Has anyone compared what she has worn with what the queen wore on her visit years ago? Is anything copying the queen's attire?

    1. I am equally surprised that they stayed around half an hour at the first engagement. While spent fishing 4 hours yesterday. And they had a private day too. I think somebody in their team does not do them any favor.

    2. Fishing is an integral part of the First Nations livelihood, so it's quite understandable that there was focus on this. Fish are also a huge export commodity for Canada. Also it takes time to go out fishing. It may have all looked fun, but there is method behind the exposure.

    3. I don't find any of the facts regarding the appearances of the royals as surprising or untoward. There's no point for criticism here. W&C are third generation royals. If they were taking on more engagements than the more senior royals, journalists and critics would accuse them of trying to steal the limelight. (Much like the snarky comments as to why the Prime Minister or the Provincial Premier accompanying W&C should appear in the photographs on this tour. Really? The hosts should not be visible? Only W&C should feature in the photos? As a reader I see such commentary as more of the self-serving wishes of the press. Everyone else interacting with W&C should step away and allow the photographers unobstructed--i.e. money-making shots.

It's only fitting that W&C should have fewer engagements than the second generation royals/brides. The graph indicates that the PW is doing more appearances than his aging parents. That, as the immediate heir, is also as it should be.

Once again, this piece in Maclean's is an example of journalists attempting to create a story where there isn't one and level criticism where none is deserved.

    4. The problem with comparasons like thebone between the royal brides is that it does not take context into account.
When Sophie married into the family the BRF was at a low and all hands on deck. While at the same time there was hardly any senior royal ladies. Kate married into the family in a completely different situation.

    5. It really doesn't matter what Diana did. Sophie is in a separate category,She was the wife of the next in line. Kate is not and probably won't be for quite awhile if the queen lives as long as her mother did. I am absolutely certain that it has been made very clear and agreed to by all,by all involved parties, that they are not to eclipse charles and camila. Additionally, it's a beautiful thing to put the foundation of your children's lives first and they are lucky and fortunate to be able to do it. Also, having a half day off is not excessive and they shouldn't be denied that during a tour. You can't go out far enough to fish on a boat to catch fish, without spending time getting out on the water, spending time on the water waiting for them to bite and coming back to shore. The purpose of the tour from Canada's perspective is to promote tourism. They will recoup more than what it cost to bring them here. This is not a value judgment on Kate and William's part.

    6. I don't know why this tour was so "native oriented" there is a lot more to Canada, than native folk. Not sure why it was the main focus

    1. I think high ponytails are more casual and girlish, so they only work for very informal occasions. Others probably think differently, as is obvious by the vastly different reactions to Kate's outfits.

    2. I like the higher ones better too. I think it lifts her face up. The lower ones seem more severe.

      Delete
    3. I love the blazers, a nipped blazer is perfect for a young, professional woman. But oh my the hair. Erika is right, it's severe, and in my opinion more befitting an 85 year old librarian.
Again, she needs a proper hairdresser, not someone known for cutting William and Harry when they were young boys. Kate has amazing hair, but too often she looks good despite her hairdresser, not because of. I think because they're so insular as a family and protective of their inner circle, they keep people out of loyalty, trust or comfort level, not necessarily skill level, which is unfortunate. This look does her no favours.

      Delete
    4. I liked this ponytail more than her usual ones because of the volume around her face. I thought it was low key and very professional

      Delete
    5. I loved this ponytail style on her. Much more sophisticated than the high pony. She's so beautiful and I think this set off her eyes beautifully.

    1. I agree! It is the best casual outfit and, perhaps, the third best outfit of the whole tour for me. Classic lines and colors. Looks sleek and sophisticated . Love the new patterned chunky heel shoes!!! I think this tour has been a fashion turning point with her. Away from her staples and uniform as you will while trying out different high end designers and silhouettes. Really shocked in a good way that she is embracing shoe trends that she has never worn publically before.

    2. I was there at the cafe and near the ship. The outfit was great for the setting. It was a cafe than straight onto a ship so it made sense to go for something casual and practical. It was great to see them wave after we yelled there names. Will kept on blocking my view of kate though. Also it was quite wet and the weather kept changing so I'd have problems choosing what to wear for all sorts of weather conditions. Loved the shoes

Every piece looks perfectly coordinated, and the total look is modern and youthful, yet appropriately conservative. The shoes are a very nice surprise and even her hairstyle is new and interesting.
I like how this tour focused mostly on rural areas and populations, rather than big cities.

  18. Ahhhh man! JEANS?! C'mon, Kate! The top is too business casual for jeans! A nice flare pant on the lower half would've been more appropriate with the shoes, as well. Dang it! I just can't get over it - skinny jeans?! Kate needs to take a cue from Crown Princess Mary when it comes to pants: perfectly tailored, flowy fabrics, wool, crepe, CLASSY. Her hair is a home run for me, as are the shoes and necklace. She's just beautiful, isn't she? Can't wait to see the kids again. Bets on whether or not they're wearing BLUE?

    1. I totally agree! Princess Mary is BY FAR the BEST DRESSED royal who experiments with different styles, cuts, silouhettes, ahhh you name it!! From bohemian, to preppy, to casual to formal she nails it every time and it's just wowzie!! I still am looking forward to seeing the Duchess of Cambridge in a flowy billowy maxi dress, flared pants a la Diane Keaton.....the options are endless but I don't like Natasha Archer giving her the tight skinny jeans all the time....Kate, hire me please!!! :)

      Delete
    2. Flare pants aren't very stylish or trendy.

      Delete
    3. I wouldn't blame Archer, I believe Kate's in the driving seat regarding what she wants to wear. I think Archer just sources various possibilities but Kate makes the selection.

      Delete
    4. For a person who likes skinny pants at whatever cost without self conscious, and seems to love them, it is unlikely she will wear flare pants except unless they become very popular again. Skinny pants and leggings have stayed around in the millennium may be longer than flare pants did in the 70s. People seem to like them even beyond the trend. I don't care for them personally cause too much figure exposure/mellowed down over the hill. Each to his own; I did so much mini skirts, that my mother used to tell me at least get them in pant skirts/don't expose your thighs. Mini skirts are worse than skinny pants when it comes to exposure. Youth and young at heart is conscious free for the most part.

    5. I think anything besides jeans is weird for sailing.

      Delete
    6. Skinny pants body feature exposure means they don' necessarily should be warn by all body types, or better warn with combination some covers. Otherwise they can be very comfortable and practical especially with some spandex in them.

      Delete
    7. Anon15, I've actually see a couple of very up to date fashion bloggers feature flared pants on their blog just within this past year. So they are not entirely out of style.

      Delete
    8. I thought flared pants and midi dresses came back the last two years briefly and out they were history. Midi dresses are not easy to find .I shop on line, and almost all the dresses and skirts are above the knees.

  19. I love this look. The shoes pull the whole thing together and I think work much better than wedges.

  20. I own the blazer, mine is blue but I considered a restock in White or Grey last spring. It' s versatile garmet. Only, the tissue frays easily, and this is a pity.

  21. After yesterday's mismatched looks I was so excited to see this polished look today! Kate hasn't worn bright white too often (apart from the occasional white dress), so the colors were fresh. And what a surprise seeing her with a SECOND pair of new shoes! I don't mind seeing Kate in skinny pants at all. I think they flatter her, and I prefer the silhouette myself. Great look Kate!

    ReplyDelete
  22. I've just lost my patience with Kate. Here she is with a great hairdo, fabulous new shoes, a great jacket-and then those awful skinny jeans. This would have been one of her best outfits-ever-if she had just chosen a nice trouser. She could wear any type of pant. She could even wear the very high waisted ones with a lot of waistband detailing that are in fashion right now. With her figure and height, a nice dress pant would be so fantastic. Instead we get this tired look that is more suitable for running a quick errand to the hardware store. I can maybe understand them for when she has to climb in and out of a war canoe but not for this appearance. It's so disappointing!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. But why would she wear 'dress pants' to go sailing? Tailored trousers are work attire, smart and formal. Kate wears skinny jeans for engagements that aren't formal events. She is young and has great legs so why not?

      Delete
    2. Exactly, Anon 19:29. She was going sailing. I don't expect Kate to wear dress trousers any time soon, even though wide flowy pants and jumpsuits are making a comeback. Maybe when she's in her 40s or 50s. Meantime, skinny jeans look great on her & are appropriate in so many situations where she has several functions in one day.

Thanks Charlotte for the thorough discussion of the day's proceedings before moving to the fashion - as the mother of a special needs child I do appreciate your first focus on the good works Catherine does. Onto the fashion - thrilled to see more practical heels !!! This are a great shape and hope we see more chunky heels from her. It breaks up the heavy emphasis on court shorts only - those are indeed gorgeous but she's solely relied on them vs flats. These are more casual and realistic as a fashion choice for most women. Well done Kate ! Hate to see the tour ending - has been great coverage here - thank you Charlotte !

Would have preferred looser pants. Even thin women look awful in skinnies. That style needs to be put to bed. However, it was nice to see pants for all the squatting she does.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I will be in the minority on this opinion - Kate is 35, not 25 - and a Royal Tour, casual
attire or not, is professional. Pants are great, but not jeans, certainly not skinnies - there are tons of fun, trendy, classy pants to choose from. She definitely needs to correct this. But continue to wear those jeans when you are not working, Kate - because you rock them. Love the new hairstyle!!

    1. You just said what I was trying to above! They aren't professional and should be used for the sailing event but not to meet with charities in a "meeting" type situation. She should wear them every single day she's not in a professional meeting, as she does look great in them.

      Delete
    2. While I don't mind seeing her in skinny jeans when appropriate, I didn't think the meeting at a mental health center was the right venue for them. As noted by others, there are tons of pants that would work in a more professional setting such as this. I suppose she chose these due to the sailing afterward, but it just didn't seem right for the meeting. Also thought her choice of the white dress when at the party with a petting zoo seem a bit off. I'd have switched outfits for those days.

  29. ugh. skinny jeans 2 days in a row. considering the boating, maybe appropriate, but I wish she would drop the skinny jeans and wear straight-leg trousers instead. something like: http://testn.imgix.net/Zoom/17/_11796417.jpg?fit=fill&fm=jpg&dpr=2&h=368&w=240&q=30

I'm so sad this tour is coming to an end! It's been such a privilege to have William and Catherine in our home Province/country and to follow their every move. Kate exudes casual sophistication with this look. I love the fresh, airy white jacket and T-shirt (and necklace) with the black skinny jeans. And those shoes! What a fabulous and whimsical choice. Give the girl a break folks. She has to think ahead and find outfits that will serve more than one engagement. Well done Kate.

  36. I absolutely love this look on Kate!! Such a stylish and professional look!!The shoes are such a classic statement!!!XOXO

  37. If her pants weren't painted on, this would be my favorite look of the tour. Polished, professional, and her hair actually looks neat and age-appropriate. If she would just get some slim-cut trousers instead of skinny jeans, she would have knocked it out of the park!

  38. anyone getting the miracle done to id the blue pullover you can see she wore for the sailing trip under the new parker?

    1. Probably the blue sweater is the same one she wore in Bella Bella.

  39. Don't like the white and black together. To schoolish looking. I don't like the shoes either. I don't like tassels either.
Thick heel and a short heel. Looks chunky and off. I like the white blazer.

  40. I thought yesterday we might go a whole tour with no ponytail, but loving this spin on it. You can see Natasha's influence here. Kate alone would've worn a striped top, blue blazer and wedges.
As a general observation, this tour must be the least repeats (except shoes) and local designers we have seen.

Is anyone else surprised at the absence of erdem on this tour?

  41. I think Kate looked fantastic today. And I so want those tweed shoes.

She looked very pretty today and I loved seeing her Asprey charm necklace again.
Unfortunately, I am not a huge fan of the shoes :(
And the blazer is very pretty - but a white blazer over a white top?
I wish she had worn something like the LK Bennett jacket and pink pumps with black skinnies that anonymous suggested in the last dream looks post, that'd have been even more smashing! https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-v_oApBmjMoc/V-SVgV6ETgI/AAAAAAAA_NA/19YbKwHYA_A2M9BhuSdldZVXrobXZk7YACLcB/s1600/look_078.jpg

Will she change again for the departure?

  43. Not sure if my last version of this comment posted

Love the spin on the ponytail - I was wondering if we would go a whole tour without one. Also love the spin on her uniform. You can see Natasha's influence here. Kate solo would've gone striped top, blue blazer and wedges (I know you're nodding your heads in agreement!).

Is this tour the least amount of repeats (except shoes) and local designers? Felt like a different balance to say India.

Anyone else surprised by no erdem on this tour?

Ha, ha! I am wearing a pair of Superga Cotu sneakers in grey leather today. I own several pairs of Superga, in leather and in fabric. They are very comfortable, great value for the money.

    1. Diana wore Supergas (navy). She's the reason I know about them and have been wearing them for years. There's a pic of her at an airport wearing them.

  45. I enjoyed reading about the Cridge Center, and it's founders. Thank you Charlotte for all the background information. Wonderful events today. Kate looked lovely, and she interacts so beautifully with the children. Those young ones will never forget her. Fun tidbits about George eating pizza and pasta, and watching Frozen. The little girl dressed as the princess was adorable.
This week flew by, didn't it? I really enjoyed sharing it with all of you. ;)

  46. PS: Loved her outfits today. She looked gorgeous.

  47. I think Kate looks lovely, but I would like to see her try straight, narrow leg trousers for a change. Maybe keep the skinny jeans for "at home" days. Love her ponytail and those pearl earrings (I've got a thing for pearls LOL)

  49. She looks Elegantly "Business Royal" Today:) She just looks like a Princess in that Photo of her waving from the car window!:) I'm Blown Away by Her Hair! It's Sophisticated Workday Elegance! I'm Craving a pic to see how it looks from the back? Love how Soft it looks around her face & how the pony falls down over one shoulder! Ahhhhh:) This Tour has been One Big Home Run for me, Especially with the various Historical/Political minefields they traversed & they did it Magnifique! They are Quite The Duo! Bravo W&K ! :) xo

  50. Everything has been a home run on this tour. I, for one am glad to see her wear new clothes and no repeats. Also, I love the different hairstyles! And yay no Sebago boat shoes! I was getting tired of those :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. I may be in the minority here but I like skinny jeans on Kate. It is a more youthful style which suits her better than a palazzo or flare type trouser would. I am not too fond of the hair and shoes combo unfortunately, a higher ponytail or maybe her hair half up would have looked a bit more fresh to me.
I can definitely tell she is veering into a more 'classic country's style if that's the right term to use!

  53. Really pleased to see Kate in some lower-heeled shoes but these are rather unusual! Not particularly keen on the checked fabric design or tassel. Her hair looks nice like this, a refreshing change.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I remember her wearing some pointed low-ish heeled brown shoes before she was married, similar style to these, but a differently shaped heel.

    1. I remember those. I really liked them. Hope she wears them again.

  55. Just saw them leaving on CTV. Kate in cream colored coat and shoes, looking beautiful, the children waving goodbye to everyone, adorable. William in navy suit.

    ReplyDelete
  56. That pair of shoes up graded the casual with blazer look into matured elegance.

The image on the boat for both of them is well blended with each other, all nice.

Most likely if they travel together, they might continue to take their children with them, They looked happy, comfortable, at home and at ease almost all the time. Chances are having their children near and around had helped them feel focused all in one place.

Next, William will go to Vietnam and Kate will go to the Netherlands, solo trips.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Finally some business casual! So happy she's mixed things up a bit. I don't mind the skinny jeans--at least it's not another dress! The shoes are perfect with the outfit.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Forgot to say when I commented earlier on her shoes. I really don't think they look good with those skinniest, but I love that she is trying different shoes and different heel heights - your back will thank you, Kate!

    ReplyDelete
  59. The outfit would have been fine, were it not for those darn skinny jeans - she looks less than professional in those. I would kill to see Kate start to wear some real trousers on occasions like this. The shoes are divine! Just needs to loose those skinny jeans - they are so tired looking and the over-all proportions are off with the stylish jacket/top and those shoes.

What great coverage for the family and mental health services this is. I sailed on my first "tall ship" a year ago out of Chicago, so I was quite interested to see that Catherine and William got right in with the crew in helping.

Charlotte, you have done a wonderful job reporting on this tour. Alas! It is coming to an end. I have very much enjoyed seeing what all the family wore each time we saw them, and I didn't see a single outfit of Kate's that I didn't like. I could see why some people criticized some of her choices; I just didn't really agree. She looked appropriate every day--some days in quite interesting ways. I do love those tweed shoes!

I'm in the camp that thinks little Princess Charlotte looks like a Windsor. She's adorable, especially slapping those balloons. Prince George had such an ethereal look among the bubbles. That was a picture for Great-Granny's favorite table.

Kudos to William and Kate for their diplomacy and warmth in carrying out all the duties of this particular tour.

  61. Wonderful look! I think I have waited since the London Olympics to see Kate wear that beautiful hairstyle again. It frames her face perfectly. She wore alovely white blazer, with no back notch! And pretty tweed shoes. She put it all together so nicely. I do agree that the skinny jeans wrinkle badly.

Today Kate got to visit charities parallel to those she supports at home, including sailing for disadvantaged children. She seemed to be in her element managing the wheel and lines. Nice.

  63. Beautiful hair! Lovely jacket! New, different style shoes that are so cute! Beautiful makeup, great smile, great engagement. My only change would be for some black pants that aren't skinny jeans--some kind of stylish but not skin tight faded fabric. And if I'm really critiquing, the shirt looks cheap and thin, and a heavier weight fabric would go better with the jacket and shoes. But overall I'm loving pants and her hair is pulled back and so cute!!!

I have loved Kate's style on the tour! She looked great today! I really appreciate the engagements William and Kate have carried out. I truly admire them for their focus and attention on mental health issues. I think they are doing a wonderful job brining much needed attention to a very sad, but prevalent issue. I know the people they have met and encountered this past week have been blessed by their visit. It's been a wonderful week! :)

    1. Amen, Kate,

I agree. They are doing a great Job.

Study the weirdness of past Royals and wow do William and Kate shine brilliantly by comparison. They have reliable guidance for sure, if they are adhering to their wedding statement. And it appears they are.

  67. Super cute! This is an outfit that looked polish for the first part of the day and transitioned well to the boat ride. Her hair looks great. I like that she went for a different type of shoe (hope we'll see them again and that they won't be worn once and then disappear). Looks like she wore the same navy blue sweater under her coat.

  68. I'm just curious. Why is that George is always in shorts? I mean Kate is wearing a coat and George is in shorts? Just curious if there is a reason for it?

    1. I suspect that is how many upper class children in England are dressed. At least he's gotten out of the frilly ruffeled shirt and strapped Mary Jane shoes. But I also think that if it was cool enough for Kate to have a coat on, they could put George in long pants. The sweater is quite appropriate and probably kept him warm enough.

  69. Absolutely love Kate's hair in the low ponytail! Very classy and sophisticated. And LOVE the new chunky heel shoes she is wearing with styling details on the vamp. These are fabulous! My only critique are the pants! Like others, I think she is bringing down an otherwise totally classy look with the skin tight wrinkled pants. Sleek straight leg pants or even slight flares would look spectacular with this outfit. Other than that she looked great.

  71. Oh my word. Is Kate not the coolest ever?! She looks amazing!!! LOVE the shoes, SO cool, so beautiful, love them with the skinny black pants and creamy white, her hair is just retro-cool, elegant without being fussy, her make up is strong and gorgeous on her, everything just radiates energy, healthy and beauty! She even transforms the look effortlessly into a sporty version for later in the day. William looks so happy and handsome too. What a family!!! (and may I say the departure shots and everyone's outfits are sheer perfection.) And isn't a blast seeing little Charlotte walking around, it takes so long for them to get from swaddled infant to little personality. So much fun!!! What an amazing tour, huh?!!!!!
