The royals were welcomed upon arrival.
It marks Kate's third public engagement since the pregnancy announcement. Yesterday, Kensington Palace confirmed the royal baby is due in April - a sign the Duchess is past the twelve week stage and all is well. The Palace also confirmed the postponement of the Norway/Sweden tour until early 2018. A Royal source told Rebecca English "she's better and is keen to do as much as she can. But she's taking it day-to-day in deciding what she can do." It very much looks like Kate's pregnancy is following a similar pattern to her first two, and she is feeling much better now. It's great to see her with William and Harry today.
The Coach Core apprenticeship scheme was designed by The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry to take young people aged 16 – 24 with limited opportunities, and train them to be sports coaches and positive role models and mentors in their communities. The apprentices learn technical sport skills alongside an inclusive and holistic approach to coaching, with an emphasis on employability and mentoring skills. Coach Core is proud to have transformed the lives of its apprentices with 98% of its graduates now being in full-time employment or education, and 80% retain strong ties with their employers and continue to engage in community sport. Apart from qualifications, participants gain the opportunity to grow, support from a network of professionals and the chance to develop personal qualities including leadership and confidence.

Judy Murray, who is a tennis coach and helped inspire and train her son Andy to grand slam standard, caught up with Kate to talk about their shared love of sport. She said: 'To have the backing of the princes and the duchess is amazing and a huge inspiration for all the young people.'
She said she and Kate spoke about developing coordination in children. 'We were talking about the things you can do with kids when they're little to help them develop those core skills. They don't need to be taught by a coach. Parents have got a big role to play in that. The prince and the duchess are very sporty so I'm sure they'll be keen for their kids to enjoy sport as well. We were talking about the things you can with balloons when kids are very small and that bean bags don't roll. She's been trying with the balloons and I was telling her to try bubbles as well. Blow bubbles and splat them with a little table tennis (ping pong) bat. It's a fun way of developing those basic skills. Kids learn best when they're playing.'

This apprenticeship programme improves the availability and quality of sports coaching, creating a solid career path. Apprentices attended the ceremony from seven different areas where Coach Core operates (London, Glasgow, Essex, Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, and South Wales), with those graduating from London, Glasgow, Wales and Essex.

Next, it was time for the graduation ceremony, pitchside at London Stadium, with speeches from the Chairman of Coach Core Ed Wray, and Karren Brady the Vice-Chairman of West Ham United.
William and Kate took to the stage and listened as Harry delivered a speech.
During a speech, Prince Harry announced that Coach Core is starting in three new areas: Middlesbrough, Devon, and Bristol. "It's so appropriate that we are back here – five years after it all began, during the incredible summer of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. At the time, William, Catherine and I were looking at the issues that we wanted to tackle together with our newly formed Royal Foundation. It was clear that all three of us believed firmly that sport could be such a powerful force for good. We felt confident that for many young people, at risk of falling through the cracks, as they left school, sport could be the answer to keeping them on track or change the course their lives were already headed. We knew that with the enthusiasm sweeping the country during that summer, we had a window of opportunity to bring the right people and organisations to the table to make something really exciting happen. The idea for Coach Core was born."

Well done to all those who graduated today. It's good to see an increased focus on Royal Foundation projects.
Great to see Kate again! I had a hunch that this event was pencilled in for her and happy she felt good enough to be there :) The kind of engagements now makes very much sense. First now, it's unnanounced engagements with someone else (so that if she doesn't feel up to it the engagement will still go on!). I assume next step will be local solo events. It makes sense that it will have to be a careful buildup so as not to have to cancel events too close to the time (both financially and emotionally for the places visiting). They seem to have a good system down by now :)

Love seeing Kate again! This blazer is not my favorite. There's something about the length and the fact that it's buttoned that doesn't appeal to me, but I guess she likes it! Happy she's feeling well enough to be out and about.

It's lovely to see the Duchess again! I have to admit I am not thrilled by the outfit. The blazer is fine but the bunching of the pants with the short booties seems poorly put together. However it is lovely to see her, and that she is feeling better.

Erica, if Catherine is just pulling things from her private wardrobe for events right now, my question is why in the world wouldn't her staff have prepared her wardrobe with the uncertainty of appearances in mind during this pregnancy period? I assume from her two previous pregnancies that she has a frame of reference for her health concerns and wardrobe needs. These contingency plans should be at the ready! Frankly, this should be addressed for the first, second or third pregnancy given her status as a member of the royal family. She has all of the resources and access to experts to do the work for her so that she appears polished and professional when is does appear at different venues. I would personally think she would feel less anxious and more comfortable and confident if this planning has taken place. Really can't excuse the lack of preparation.

Her haircut is nice, somehow it makes it look like she has even more hair! maybe it the way its curled? from the waist up i dont mind the outfit: BUT im sorry, and i know im in the minority, but someone, anyone, im begging now, PLEASE BURN THOSE PANTS! (and the blue ones) lol. they must go, they do not flatter her, maybe it was my screen but her legs looked really short and like she is bursting out of these pants, and you and i Know she is a very fit woman with nice legs. a nice slim bootcut with a slight flare at the bottom would be perfect for her and those little booties or even the cigarette pants. like i said, i know im in the minority but was really hoping this skinny pant thing would be gone by now;)

With a little lycra stretch in it, they are also immensely comfortable!!) - but, alas, she seems to love those "skinny jeans"/"jeggings" so much they´ll probably never ever part... ;-)))

SarahV. Cigarette pants need to be a staple in her wardrobe. Some full length and some ankle length. She also needs to replace those skinny jeans for ones with a higher quality fabric and better color saturation. The quality of the fabric of the blazer and the quality of the fabric of the jeans is not even close (Natasha).

DeleteThis may be a duplicate I posted earlier and it is not showing. SarahV, It may depend on the boots. I wear short boots both with bootcut jeans and flair jeans, it looks wonderful. The bootcut jean nicel goes over the top of the boot as well as the flair, I like how it elongates my legs and makes a smooth transition from my pants to my boots.
DeleteThere's a practical reason the jeggings don't flatter Kate: they are so tight that they bunch up at the ankles and it highlights that Kate's leg length is mostly in the thigh region and that her calves are actually quite short, and her feet are very big. If boot cut jeans aren't her style, then straight "boyfriend" jeans or less tightly fitted skinny jeans would make her proportions look more balanced. As it is, this outfit highlights her long, wide shoulders/torso, her long thighs, short calves, and big feet.
DeleteI mean don't get me wrong I think she looks happy and it's great to see her do these low-key engagements because they are more her element IMO than the kind of "heavy" charity work. But I'm surprised a stylist hasn't pointed out to her how the jeggings don't flatter her figure.
It's nice that we have a mix of opinions here-I'm in the camp that loves these fresh young outfits like today's just as much as I adore the classic dresses like her dancing dress with Paddington Bear.
DeleteI am all for skinny pants and jeans(so much more comfortable) but these look terrible. Maybe they looked nice initially but now are so worn out. I literally don't understand. How can you wear a $2000 dress with Kiki earnings and Prada heels one day and then a new expensive blazer with clearly worn out skinny jeans/jeggings the next? I feel like there is some massive disconnect. Unless it's something like William likes the way she looks in them and so she wears them to make him smile.
DeletePersonally, I don't like to wear skinny jeans - though I'm quite alone with that in my age group ;-) I'm definitely not a fan of skinny jeans for royal engagements but even so, I might accept them if they looked better. My problem here: the colour looks washed-out and though that might have been intended, it looks like bad quality which for me totally clashes with the rest of her outfit, which is clearly of higher quality. Secondly, they crease terribly and that is something that skinny jeans may simply do and it might be fine in person but in photographs it looks awful.

DeleteIt's lovely to see Kate at such a happy and special event and she looks very well. I do think there is a push to get the royal trio more openly involved with engagements relating to Royal Foundation work - up until now that work was not well publicised.
ReplyDeleteMy views on saggy knees are well known - so I won't repeat them except to say William's trousers are rather saggy as well. I'm not fond of leggings with formal blazers, the proportions always seem wrong. I also don't think black is the best match with that blazer. So lots of quibbling.
But I do like the colour of the blazer - paired with blue trousers it would be lovely. I also like Kate's shorter hair although a side part would be nice.
William has seemed in good spirits the last two events so either he was more worried at Kate's first appearance - certainly possible - or something else was troubling him for he didn't seem happy at the Palace Head's Together event.
I'm pleased to see they are doing more engagements related to their Royal Foundation causes...I hope the pattern of highlighting things at home (UK) continues.

DeleteI noticed the bouquets a long time ago as well as the complementary clothing choices but it never struck me that they have matched until today. Maybe the way in which they were photographed made it seem more obvious at this event.
DeleteYay, another engagement for Kate. It is good to see her out and about as much as she can. I appreciate the fact that she is choosing to step back into engagements, even when she may not be feeling top notch. I do think it speaks to the commitment that was made about she and William significantly increasing engagements moving forward.

But not enough to bust out maternity closes bump' but probably not. Hair and makeup look great. The jacket, I just don't love it. I didn't love the red and I still don't like it. It just seems heavy.
Since I didn't get to comment yesterday(darn clients at work needing assistance), I will say I loved whole look! I think the dress looked fantastic-it seemed like a heavier fabric, so perfect for fall. It had detailing, was fitted appropriately and her accessories looked good. And most importantly, it looked like she had fun and people were enjoying chatting and interacting with her!

ReplyDeleteGlad she's feeling better but I don't like this look or the similar one with the red blazer. The double breasted blazers look so dated, the pale blue is pallid, the jeans don't flatter her, and the boots are fine but just a remix of her taller ones.

What fun! And what a surprise! For those who have been pregnant before, you know those first months when you can't fit into your regular clothes but would be swimming in maternity clothes you wear what is comfortable and you can get into. I like the outfit and think she looks perfectly appropriate, as usual. My first thought was I would like to wear something like that, not because it's my style, but because 1) it's comfortable (an essential if you are feeling any bit of nausea) and 2) the blazer isn't smoothly fitted so my belly wouldn't make international news at every outing.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who's suffered with Lyme disease for many years, I understand how she may seem fine when out but we have no idea the prep it took for her to get out today and the recovery she will need in the days after it. I know most people have no idea that some times it takes me a week to recover from a one day outing. So praying for her full recovery from HG and glad she's making it out so much this past week. The charities are making such a difference. I like the last minute decisions because that means she joins William and sometimes Harry. Such fun to see them all together!
Exactly on the recovery part Abby. As someone with anxiety it would SHOCK people how long it can take to prepare and recover for the simplest tasks if your mind and/or body is fighting against you.
DeleteBingo! The prep work required to get up, get dressed, and leave the house when you have HG is exhausting and that's before you have arrived where you are headed. Even of or when you are starting to feel better it takes months, if not years, for your body to recover. Some effects last a lifetime. There has to be rebound time after she does these engagements from the HG. Even if she is past the worst of it, her body still needs to recover.

DeleteAnd what leads you to believe you have any information to inform that opinion? We have no clue if she was repainting the house and dancing in the hallways or laying in bed with IV for the week in between.
DeleteShe was out on the 16th and the 18th. I doubt she's been feeling deathly ill. She does not have to come out until she feels she can do it. I don't think she would set herself back or hurt her baby by coming out too soon. I think she would not want to sabotage her being able to be present for her other kids as well.

However, I am sure you and I are not significant royalty who have access to every conceivable expert, wardrobe and staff to prepare anything and everything at the ready whenever and wherever it is needed! I appreciate the relatibilty that many in this post feel about Catherine; but she has a larger, significant royal role. Unique to most people's lives. My humble opinion is that she should be held to higher standards or my goodness, why did she willingly choose to accend to the title of Duchess of Cambridge? With privilege comes responsibility, maturity, dedication and responsibility. Enough said I think.

DeleteNow add pregnancy and HG; if she does manage to get dressed and get on with her day, what if the car ride to an engagement makes her feel like running to the nearest Ladies Room when she arrives? How would that work when representatives and crowds are lined up to greet her? Can she sit behind a desk and say to herself that she will grin and bear it for as long as she is able to?
AND, while I realize that this may not be a popular statement, it IS reality.........this is no ordinary pregnancy. Kate is married to a future king. Royal heirs, anyone? Talk about different standards; Kate and her doctors have to exercise extreme caution in what she does or does not do, especially with a complicated pregnancy.
So, yes, I would agree that with privilege comes maturity, dedication, and responsibility......
She also gets criticised when she smiles too often or too widely. She is basically a happy person. I think that aggravates some people.

Sorry to rain on your parade but I was pretty sure about this one as well. It's very likely that Kate has been planned to be on these engagements from the beginning. She has probably had to cancel all solo engagements and out of town engagements (so if she is sick on the day the places haven't payed alots of money on an engagement that get canceled the last minute) but that she is still pencilled in on the local joint engagements since she can decide on the day how she feel and the engagement is not at risk of being canceled. Makes very much sense :)

DeleteRebecca, I agree about the out of town visits but I really wish she would be "pencilled in" on the Finland trip with William. Unless he is taking a regular flight she could easily just slip into the airline seat beside him (and even on a regular flight, would the seat beside him necessarily be taken?) if she is feeling up to it. I wonder if that is why many of the Prince's engagements have been unannounced? Just a thought but the increased alert measures would impact the Royals somehow in their background planning?

DeleteI would expect the pants, even though they look washed out and kind of sad, are stretchy and can accommodate Kate's slight but noticeable bump. Flat heels make sense for uneven and/or slick surface of an athletic field. The blazer is nice, takes things up a notch and can be reworn over a dress later. It's an appropriate outfit for this setting and event and vastly more age-appropriate than the Granny's curtains-Victorian lace disasters we've seen at the past couple of engagements.
ReplyDeleteBut again and again, on these engagements with Harry, one can't help but notice how stiff and rigid and even, dare I say it, almost uncomfortable Will and Kate are with people vs. Harry's down to earth, personal, warm style, which is absolutely reminiscent of the warm, personal way his mother had with people. Ironically, it's the same manner that Camilla has with people on her events, close, folksy and personal.
Will and Kate bring to mind King George VI and Queen Elizabeth and the stiff, formal way they were with people, that antiquated starchiness.
The expected response will be "But Will and Kate are new at this, give them time!"
They've been doing engagements with the public, William for most of his adult life and Kate since 2011. One would hope they figure it out sooner rather than later.
I don't agree. Harry is a more flamboyant and visable kind of openness. Kate and William are both also very warm (a common comment from people that have met them is how easy they are to talk to, how warm they are and how they make people feel listened to). They are a less visual and "loud" kind of open and warm people. I'm more the Harry kind in that I'm very laughingly wavy in my interactions. That doesn't make me more open or warm. Some would say it makes me more annoying! I think it shows differences in their personalities, yes. But not in the way you seem to feel. But things like this are always dependent on such subjective feelings. We all are drawn to/put off by different kind of people.

True they aren't as madcap as Harry is but people really seem to like them and approach them. I noted that last week when the short lady came up to Kate and was chattering away to her as if she knew her very well. Harry has a very unique style that I think only he can really get away with it and still be genuine ;)

And dare I suggest that if William, as future king, did have Harry's less reserved style people might be questioning his suitability for the role. I've said this before and I will mention it again...both W&H have personalities that are ideal for THEIR individual roles in the BRF.
DeleteElizabeth, if you are comparing Harry with Camilla, I would not stand by the mailbox in anticipation of receiving an invitation to the next royal wedding. ;-) She certainly has a down to earth side, but Harry is the REAL DEAL; no acting for the cameras and checking to see if this moment or that one was captured by the photographers.
Elizabeth, I would strongly recommend going over to the Daily Mail website and have a look at the article about Harry and Meghan having tea with the Queen (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4994810/Harry-Meghan-discreet-tea-party-Queen.html). At the very end of the article you can see a picture of William and Kate receiving a shirt for the little one to come, given to them by West-Ham star Mark Noble - can you call William´s face at that moment (he´s an avid Aston Vill fan, so this was a really good joke) "stiff, rigid and uncomfortable"? I don´t think so. If anything, his facial expression shows genuine contact, the ability to make fun and understand a good joke - which I´ve heard/read quite a few times over the years from people who were actually able to meet him in person.

Hello. I don't really comment on this website but Elizabeth's comment really caught my eye. I think they're very different people and have different ways of interacting with others. There have been many engagements in the past where William and Kate have been as warm as Harry is. And to think, the people who they have met during visits have all said that they are incredibly down to earth and caring. Harry is a very demonstrative person but it doesn't mean that William and Kate have to be the same. They have their own style of doing their engagements. Harry is just very open about his feelings. Not everyone wants to be.

In another life neither of them would have chosen a job where they have to interact with strangers everyday and have the limelight on them. Hmm when I see Harry I see a lot of similarities with Diana. Like Diana he's warm, personable, outgoing, naturally connects with people. But when I saw the documentaries this year about Diana's death I was also surprised that he was so raw, felt so much anger and guilt, had so much baggage that he admits took him years to even acknowledge. Felt like he was still unpacking that baggage. That too, is very much like Diana -- her warmth in public also masked very serious lifelong struggles with bulimia, depression, lack of self-care. Not saying Harry has the same issues, but just that he reminds me a lot of her.
DeleteWilliam and Kate on the one hand seem more level-headed. You get the sense that who they are in public is very much who they are in private -- traditional, rational, maybe even a bit boring? Unfortunately the flip side of this is that unlike Harry (or Diana) it sometimes seems very obvious that they are treating their engagements like "jobs" and their boredom shows. The Harry and Diana types are able to make the royal duties of hand-shaking, meeting people, talking to people, seem not just like "duties" but as a natural extension of who they are. Not saying one way is necessarily better than the other.

DeleteThe feelings of a traditional royalist. Royals aren't celebrities. Royals exist to represent their country, not for entertainment. That's why I don't use the word 'fan'. It's how each royal fits into and benefits the royal institution.
DeleteRoyals can't be too 'ordinary' or there's no point. But they also can't be too elitist or look like they're enjoying perks too much. They have to stay out of all political matters. Although many may have celebrity friends, they have to be careful not to become celebrities themselves or too close. (Think Beckham birthday party.) Celebrities are rarely respected and royals must be to survive.
The most successful royals have a certain type of charisma and ability to show their caring. No royal is born out of the head of Zeus full-sprung like Athena, so I won't speak to Meghan as it is much too soon to tell. She has an enormous amount to learn, coming into a country where she has spent relatively little time.
The queen has developed a powerful gravitas over the years. She is enormously revered for her dedication but people don't see her as cosy. Many old-time royalists don't want that. Diana built up slowly from a charming princess to a beloved force, as did the Queen Mum. Philip and Anne have their own sort of workaholic drive that has made them respected, but affection came more slowly with age. Then there are those like Andrew, Margaret and Sarah who crashed and burnt and those like Charles who made a major mistake. Camilla has charm but is said to be a horrible snob and some - like me - don't feel she radiates sincerity.
As for William, he is not the most charismatic man. But if he had spent the last five years with visits like his recent one to Merseyside, no one would be talking dull. He went into his marriage with enormous good will but he chose not to develop it, and good will is much harder to retrieve once a reputation for reluctance is created, some of it of his own making. That is more a problem than dullness specifically. I wouldn't call him dull in that hospital in Liverpool.
Kate is extremely reserved and hasn't settled in easily, not helped at all by all the delays to a full-time royal schedule. She is also extremely cautious, fearing to do wrong which gives her a lack of spontaneity that can be interpreted as dull. I think this is part of being too dependent on everyone's opinions, particularly her family and William's. If she does a lot more independently and starts to relax she will seem less dull, but we all wonder when that will be.
Harry is delightful and wears his heart on his sleeve but he also is impulsive and not as cautious as he should be. No royals should ever have articles written about body language when meeting any leader's wife. He needs to concentrate being at home with people - what he does best - pulling away from becoming too much a celebrity and stay out of anything political, particularly in these uncertain times.
One thing to add too is how much the queen dislikes flashiness and attention-seeking. I don't think she is entirely correct in this - her position is popular with older royalists but not likely to draw in the young - but it does make the balance for all royals difficult. I think we see some of this influence in Kate's over-cautiousness.
DeleteSophie is known to be the queen's favourite. This may be in part because she spent a lot of time at the palace before her marriage, and the queen grew to know her, partially because Edward is the youngest son, partially because Sophie has made a point of being involved in country matters that appeal to the queen - I believe she grew up on a farm so this probably comes easily for her. But her steady quiet work ethic is undoubtedly a big factor - and helped her overcome what could have been a disastrous mistake. This separates her from Sarah who also grew up on a farm, also lived at the palace, and also was married to a favoured son - but didn't have the steadiness or sense needed to pull back when things went badly wrong.
To people who follow the royal family, Sophie is also quite popular (but unknown to many who don't - a drawback to a quiet royal in this media age where traditional royal duties are ignored in favour of gossip.) But amongst royal supporters, she has come to represent how a classic royal role can still be hugely successful. I believe the queen's support is why she and Edward have been given the role of representing the nation abroad at events.

Beyond the honeymoon - the 100 trouble free days, what has she set out to do? Teeth too white, hair too curly, too many fashion labels - too quiet in unstable times. She is getting lost behind a mountain of stylish clothes, when all she needs is a good suit, comfortable shoes, a kind smile and determination.
Of course they will be all right. They have plenty of time. But I agree with Julia; the time you spend being reluctant will be difficult to catch up with. Nobody minds boring if the job gets done. But most of us mind if all you manage is to look the part. Welcome back, Kate - may this be a time of true change!

DeleteKate was in such a good spirit the other day dancing with Paddington. He was some cute furry gentle being. That maternity dress is pleasantly pretty and suited her very well. The design on it looks like some items from nursery/ some hand toy children play with/ the rattling hand toy.

It doesn't look like she had gained weight as others had guessed (at least not body weight), face may be, pregnancy weigh loss with HG or severe morning sickness, likely or made up with IV nutrients.
Her outfit reasonably complements the graduates sportive outfits while her jacket seems convenient for her while giving due respect for the occasion. By now, might as well accept her liking for lace and skinny pants. I remember the London Marathon 2012. If they started Coach Core in 2012, I wonder how old the current graduates were when they started. Harry's speech also included the trio's fund will make an investment on the program.
I don't think the Orla Kiely dress is a maternity dress. It is a rwgular dress with an empire waist. I think she has gained weight. She was very thin at the Diana garden event and looks different now.

I did not think she gained weight after looking at the comparable photos in leggings / skinny pants of her, topped with the red blazer. At some point, unless someone had gained excessively, or gone too skinny, none of us can say accurately from a distance.

DeleteShe looks much healthier, and this is great, considering her HG and her early stage in pregnancy! It's mostly noticable in front pictures. Gaining in pregnancy is natural and should not be considered negative by anyone! It reflects a healthy pregnancy :) I'm sure Kate takes care that the little baby gets everything it needs!

ReplyDeletePersonally I really love her hair! I'm not normally a fan of the center part, but I think she really pulls it off. It's trendy and practical without aging her. When she went short the first time, I thought it added ten years to her look, but I think this cut is young and chic.
I'm glad to see her feeling better and able to carry out some engagements. I'm sure she still feels queasy, but you'd never know by looking at her.
I agree that this outfit is odd, seemingly out of proportion. I felt the same way about the red version. Also, the blazer has puckery areas, especially the pockets.
DeleteAs for Kate's hair, she has worn side parts for years. Why not a center part? Those who have been pregnant know how heavy one's hair gets. (It thins out after childbirth). The center part may make it easier to control, and thus avoid awkward bangs. I liked her bangs when they were wavy, but they blew into Kate's face. I think this hair style is more practical, and it looks very nice.

DeleteOkay, I am probably going to shock many of you who think I am a totally biased Kate supporter with this comment. But here goes: there was an announcement today that Prince William is going to be honored at the Daily Mirror's Pride of Britain awards a week Monday. KP announced it as William solo. Now, I know that Kate is probably still sick with HG but, honestly, he was often alone even before she became pregnant. And now that he has upped his workload, his "aloneness" is all the more apparent. It just doesn't seem right to me. Yes, she is pregnant. By mutual decision one assumes. But I really hope that once she is able, she starts going out to at least evening occasions with him. They live in London after all so if he is going to something in London, it isn't far to go.

I agree but at the same time, it's easy to forget how often royals are honoured. It may simply not be as big an achievement for them as it is for most of us. Still, if Kate wants to model herself on the great royal consorts, she needs to be out with William a great deal more. Pride of Britain would have been a great place to start. And any event where a royal lady is present draws more attention than one with a man. (The dress factor.) At this point, William would benefit by a lot more attention.

DeleteI agree with you on this specific case, since William is being honoured/receiving an award, it would be nice to have his wife with him. But in general I actually feel the opposite. I really enjoyed seeing William out and about on his own. In no way due to any fault by William or Kate, but he always get overshadowed when they are together.

I believe William is presenting awards to some young people but he is not himself being honored. ( per KP Twitter) It is possible Kate could be there as the awards do involve some of the youngsters from the Princes Trust and WKH charities.

Prince George started his half -term school break last Thursday and that finishes at the end of this week so I am wondering whether the Cambridges if Kate is fit enough have gone up to Norfolk. Sophie & Edward also have no engagements this week and they have usually followed this pattern for their children's holidays. I do admit that I hope that this is what William has done and if so they will continue in this vein. I suspect that Kate would not have had any engagements listed for this week anyway. William already has a number of major charity black tie galas announced for next week and the following weeks needless to say all solo!!
Disappointed that there will be no public service for the Queen & DoE wedding anniversary I wonder whether the Duke of Edinburgh will attend the Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall?
I hope it won't be too long before we see Kate again and that she is continuing to improve. Looking at the events she undertook when expecting Charlotte she was well enough to attend an evening Charity dinner at the end of this month and attended a number of functions in November & December. In the January she flew to Mustique for a 10 day holiday and undertook a considerable number of engagements in Feb and March indicating that she was no longer suffering from HG probably why they have decided to change the date of the Norway Sweden engagement personally I doubt that they would have gone to all the trouble of rearranging if they didn't think Kate would be fit to go William might well have gone on his own on the originally planned dates.
Just curious, William is scheduled for two galas coming up soon. Is it possible that we will see Kate by his side. I think if she is feeling better, she should attend with him. I thought part of her job as his wife is to support him. And I believe one of these engagements are for their foundation.
