William and Kate are marking the festivities at Sandringham this year.
Like many families they alternate Christmas between both sets of in-laws - spending it with the Middletons last year. 2017 has been quiet a year for the Cambridges and indeed the entire Royal family. Prince William's decision to conclude his flying career and take on full-time duties coincided with Prince Philip's retirement and prompted a permanent move to Kensington Palace. The Duke and Duchess announced news they are expecting their third baby and Prince George began school at Thomas's Battersea.

It's been a momentous year for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who announced their engagement less than a month ago. William and Kate are reportedly hosting them at Anmer Hall over the festive period. Meghan is marking her first Christmas with the family today. No doubt, she and Kate had plenty to chat about, from fun gifts for the family to their choice of outfits for the day at Anmer (you can read more about Meghan's appearance here).
This year also marked the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's passing. Two decades later, it is wonderful to see both William and Harry settled and happy. This photo was taken by a lady in the crowd, Karen Anvil, and captures a wonderful happy moment. William and Kate holding hands and Harry and Meghan arm in arm. A relaxing family Christmas offers the perfect setting to reflect on the year's milestones and enjoy time with family before the major events of 2018.

It's another packed year at Sandringham with an estimated thirty royals enjoying the festivities at the Norfolk estate.
Members in attendance include Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Wessexes, the Yorks, and the Princess Royal and her husband Timothy Lawrence, along with Peter Phillips and his family.
The parish church of St Mary Magdalene is one of exceptional historic interest, with memorials to many members and relations of the Royal family, from Queen Victoria onwards. It is considered one of the finest carrstone buildings in existence, and dates back in its present form to the 16th century.

The sumptuously decorated chancel with its carved angels frames the silver altar and reredos presented to Queen Alexandra by the American Rodman Wanamaker as a tribute to King Edward VII. He also presented her with the silver pulpit and a silver 17th-century Spanish processional cross. Other notable features include a Florentine marble font, a Greek 9th-century font and stained glass from the 16th century onwards. Aside from Christmas celebrations, Princess Diana and Princess Eugenie were baptised there, and William and Kate chose it as the venue for Princess Charlotte's christening.
Her Majesty looked regal as always.

A nice wrap up from The Telegraph.
Upon their return to Anmer, I expect William and Kate will find George and Charlotte happily playing with their gifts from Santa. George asked for a police car, William told a member of the public there was one under the tree for him. Following a change of clothes, the family will sit down to a traditional Christmas lunch at 1.15 pm. Norfolk turkey accompanied by a selection of cold meats and a variety of side dishes is served.

At precisely 3 pm the family gathers round to watch the Queen's Christmas message.
The theme of the Queen's Christmas message this year is "home". "We think of our home as places of warmth, familiarity and love...there is a timeless simplicity to the pull of home". Her Majesty also reflects on the tragedies of the year: "This Christmas, I think of London and Manchester, whose powerful identities shone through over the past twelve months in the face of appalling attacks." As you can see, there's two lovely photos of George and Charlotte laid out. Afterwards, the royals usually enjoy a long walk before an evening of television, board games and drinks.
The Duchess looked particularly festive this year in the red and green Miu Miu Velvet-trimmed double-breasted tartan wool-blend peacoat (with thanks to Millie).
The £2,655 piece is described as "Embrace this season's 'haute heritage' trend with Miu Miu's double-breasted peacoat - it has been expertly tailored in Italy from a luxurious wool-blend. Woven with a traditional tartan pattern, it has a velvet-trimmed notch collar, belted back and inverted pleat. It's fully lined and has a buttoned vent that can be adjusted for ease of movement." It's available in limited sizes at Net-A-Porter.
The official designer colour is 'Botighia'.
Kate wore her TOD's black suede pumps.
Kate sported a new black hat.
Kansas based brand Peruvian Connection shared news Kate wore their Vallnord Alpaca Fur Hat (with thanks to Surfer Girl). The fur is sustainably sourced from alpaca farmers in Peru. Kansas City reports "The hat has been in the company’s collection since the 1990s, says Elise Boroian, director of marketing and brand strategy for Peruvian Connection. Kate and her mother, Carole Middleton, have been customers of the company, which has a retail store in London, for years, said Boroian, who was careful not to offer many details out of respect for the family’s privacy. “We were so excited to see the photo on Christmas day. It’s the first time we’ve seen her in that particular hat,” she said."

And accessorised with her Kiki McDonough Diamond Flower and Lemon Quartz Drop Earrings.
Kate completed the look with her Mulberry clutch and Cornelia James Imogen gloves.
I hope you all have a splendid Christmas with your loved ones, filled with joy, laughter and happiness. It feels like an opportune moment to thank you for visiting the blog in 2017 and your support throughout the year. We leave you with this seasonal view of Sandringham House and Queen Alexandra's Nest in the snow. The Norfolk estate looks especially majestic during the winter.

Coming up, we'll have our annual Year in Review and polls asking you to select your favourite clothing and accessories worn by Kate this year.
Wonderful to see the royals together for another year, and this time with yet another new addition! Love their christmas hand holding! They are very attentive at engagements with looks and hands on the back and such but they generally keep their PDA to a minimum during engagements (makes total sense) so it's very sweet when we get to see some of their more "touchy-feely" moments during christmas and such!
ReplyDeleteVery nice to see them walking in with Harry and Meghan. I wonder if the rumors are true that they are staying with them at Anmer! Makes me happy that they seem to have a nice support with eachother!
I quite like Kate's coat! Very christmassy! Almost a bit dated, but in a way that feels very comforting on christmas. Not fond of the hat, but it looks really warm and cozy!
Looking forward to getting some more pictures!
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate, and good wishes all around!
I do hope they are all staying at Anmer together. I agree that it's great that they've got that support. I love their hand holding, too!
DeleteThe fact that neither of them were spotted at the early morning service convince me that the were all staying at Amner and not the big house.
DeleteI think it is kind to let Meghan spend her first Christmas at Amner. Christmas with the in laws are always stressful at first especially if you are not used to going big at Christmas. It must be nice to have a place you can escape to if it gets too much.
I think it is great that they chose to host Harry and Meghan. Being a newcomer can be very daunting, and it seems William and Kate have been very good support for the new couple. Looking back all these years, I'm quite proud of how Kate has done. How dignified and collected and grown up she is. No doubt motherhood helped too. We are lucky to have her as our future Queen.
DeleteHappy Christmas everyone! They are finally all together :-) I love Kate's coat & Meghan's hat...but their best accessories are William & Harry!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas everyone too! Sadly, I am not with you Kiwi Gal on Kate's coat, while it is very Christmassy, the pattern reminds me of a tablecloth. She has yet another tartan coat that I dislike too. I look forward to more pictures.
DeleteGreat, Anett. Now I can't unsee that!
DeleteOh Kiwi Gal So Beautifully Said! I Love William & Harry Being "Their Best Accessories! :) lol xoxo
DeleteI absolutely love Kate's coat too. Not so sure about Meghan's hat. I thought the Queen looked radiant in her colour and I surprisingly liked that Camilla chose such a bold colour too! As for William and Harry, they are lovely men, but I think Kate more than holds her own now. That video with the girl proves it.
DeleteLOL now I can't un-see a tablecloth, either! :P But I still love it :)
DeleteGarland girl, I liked the bright, vibrant colours that HM & Camilla picked out also. The Queen looked amazing (as she always does!). Kate has blossomed since becoming a mother...I liked her interaction with the girl, too.
DeleteThe photo we've been waiting for. :)
ReplyDeleteI love Kate's coat and hat very much. So festive and warm. I think it is my favorite that she has worn so far. Haven't seen her boots or shoes. How do the men not wear hats? They have to be cold.
Prince Phillip walked to church. He's amazing.
Beatrice wore tennis shoes and seemed unpolished.
Nice that they attend Christmas morning services though. Don't like Meghan's hat at all. Haven't gotten a good look at the coat, boots, purse. She is doing the walk with Harry. She is doing the walk with Harry. :)
He must be over the moon not to have to make that walk alone. That grey is not the best on him. And guess what. Charles is wearing the same suede shoes that the boys have been wearing.
🎄❤️Merry Christmas Everyone❤️🎄
There are two services, most of them look more casual at the early service. The press is making a big deal out of Bea's shoes at the early service, but by looking closely, I can see she is wearing her black suede short boots for the second service.
DeleteThat's right. Thanks, Arizona Girl. I hadn't forgotten about the earlier service.
DeleteOh SG Isn't This Just Too Exciting! :) I Agree With Everything You Said, But I Do Like Meghan's Hat, I Think Some How It Suits (sorry no pun intended! :) Her. I admit to being a bit thrown by the tone of her ensemble as not being what I think of as Christmasy, but once I saw The Queen & Her Orange & almost Autumnal Hat... I thought that Actually Meghan's tone sort of helped bridge the gap between Christmas & that Woodsy Winter Look! All In All...... The Beauty for me was Seeing Them All Together As A Whole Family! Family Is What It's All About.... Royal or Not. xo
DeleteYep. The best accessories, Kiwi Gal. :)
ReplyDeleteHandsome accessories ;)
DeleteKate's coat is sold out.
ReplyDeleteI would have that coat in my closet in a heartbeat if I could but click my heels! :) To me I'd just have it forever, it's so timeless to me. :)
DeleteOh Love The Hat Too! That one I'm going to hunt for until I can find it or one like it! Way Cool & Versatile! At least to me. :)
DeleteI like the hat, too, Becca :) It took awhile to grow on me, but it is very versatile & looks warm! I prefer the black version over the grey.
DeleteLove Kate's look. Smashing.The Queen's outfit was fabulous !
DeleteTry Hat World or Fur Hat world, something like that.
DeleteBecca. PeruvianConnection.com. The Vallford Alpaca Fur Hat. Comes in black, white, caramel, brown and black. $99. Alpaca is sooo warm. I really like that hat also, Becca. :)
DeleteBeautiful! Love that coat! And isn`t Miu Miu a high end brand? :) The hat works very well with the coat, I personally wouldn`t wear the hat, but I think the two work together to make a classic Kate look. :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! Thanks for the first photos!
ReplyDeleteKate looks very happy and healthy but the coat is ... a tad too Christmassy for me. Meghan looks lovely and I love her color scheme.
ReplyDeleteI don’t know that I love the coat, but I love the Christmassy feel of it!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to all!
Wow, not sure if I like this outfit on Kate. Like the shape of the coat but there is something there that Im not loving. Cannot quite put my finger on it.
ReplyDeleteHope you all have a lovely Christmas.
I agree KiwiNic, the shape and cut of this coat is great but the colors just don't work for me.
DeleteLovely and adorable. I love Christmas in Sandrigham but this is especially wonderful- two new members, christmassy, warm coat and hold holding !Loves :)
ReplyDeleteA very Happy Christmas to you Charlotte! It's so lovely to see William and Kate this year at Sandringham. Kate looks absolutely glowing and I love her Christmas coat! She is positively radiant. I was hoping to see George and Charlotte this year but knew they were a bit young for a formal service at Sandringham. Do you think we will see them next year, Charlotte?
ReplyDeleteToday it was the first time for Savannah and Isla. Isla is 5 years old. So we need to wait till princess Charlotte is 5 years old.
DeleteAre you sure Anon 15.57? I seem to remember that last year was the first one for them but I might be wrong. Either way, there is no set age for the kids. Just depending on the kids and parents and when they think it appropriate and possible for the child to do the walk back and forth and also sit through an adult service.
DeleteKate’s bump is so cute! I’m excited Kate and Meghan are next to each other. I don’t know why! Merry Christmas everyone!
ReplyDeleteMe Too! It's just so.... Nice :)
DeleteProbably not over a glass of wine in Kate’s condition - hot chocolate perhaps!
ReplyDeleteKate looks so Christmassy!!!! I love that coat on her! She looks so comfortable and at ease after the past couple of months with her morning sickness.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love Kate's HAIR!!!! It looks so glossy and shiny! I am not a super huge fan of the hat but it does work well with her. Both times that she has worn a fur hat this year (today and at a Sandringham service in January) her hair has looked so beautiful.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
I Totally Agree! I bet the hat would be perfect for Sweden! :)
DeleteMerry Christmas everyone! Kate's coat is outstanding as far as a Christmas coat could ever stand out. It does not fit her properly due to the "bump", that might be what seems a bit "off". I do like it on her though. Megan did the right thing by being understated in colours of the season, she looks lovely I think. Meghan certainly had enough limelight recently with her extravagant (but beautiful) gown, this is how I like the balance that the royals create. Well done! William and Harry look happy, what a great end to a very long and sometimes hard year. I wish them all the best for a nice Christmas break!
ReplyDeleteWonderful to see FAMILY togetherness among the Royals. I look forward to hearing the Queen’s message. The Duchess of Cambridge looked lovely and festive. Ms Markle’s attire reminded me of the Duchess of Cambridge’s style. Perhaps they are already exchanging style notes. Everyone continue to enjoy this wonderful season, in which we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Thanks, Charlotte. 🎄🎁
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to see them all together and specially Kate next to Meghan. I bet they have plenty to talk about their men :) I like Kate's traditional coat selection but personaly all in all I like what is Meghan wearing today more. Merry Christmas to you Charlotte and to all your readers!
ReplyDeleteOh, I bet they have WAY more interesting things to discuss than their men during this holiday! Kate can point out all the wierd stuff to Meghan that the royals don't notice because that's what they're used to! All the odd nick-nacks in the corridors and the creaky floorboard you have to avoid if standing up during the speech.
DeleteRebecca-hahaha!! So true. Every family has super weird quirks and decorating pieces that are completely normal to them, but in reality are super weird and only outsiders see it! I would love to listen in on some of those conversations.
DeleteMerry Christmas to everyone! What a treat to see the royals at Christmas. The Queen looks striking and Kate looks so radiant. I'm reminded what a blessing they are. Truly classy. I'm glad everyone is in good health this year. That is the most important of all. Charlotte, do you know where the Middletons spent Christmas this year? I suspect with Pippa's new in-laws. It may sound strange but I miss them.
ReplyDeleteKate's outfit is perfect for Christmas! Not my personal taste but its very Kate. But the thing I liked most about the fotos is seeing W&K walking hand in hand 💕 and of course seeing the for of them together.
ReplyDeleteEven liked the color and hair do of lady Louise.
Charlotte wish you a merry Christmas 🎄🌠 and would like to thank you for that beautiful blog you've created and where I love to come day by day 💕 merry Christmas also to all the other readers 🎄 hope you all enjoy the festivities!
Merry Christmas to the Royal Family and to Meghan! It is most delightful to see Christmas video above. I wished I were there to partake in this most Holiest of all Holidays with all of you!
ReplyDeleteBlessings for all Eternal, With Love,
Love, Bethalena.
Happy Christmas everyone and thank you for the Christmas Day post, Charlotte! I was looking forward to it so much, it has become a part of this special day for me. So glad to see them together! I love Kate's look, also like her interaction with Meghan - I believe both of them can benefit (in the positive sense of the word) from the presence of the other lady. When I saw the video with HM arriving with Camilla, I was afraid for a moment that Prince Philip wasn't there but then I was so happy to see him. I wonder whether his coming with both PW and PH and their ladies was just a coincidence or whether there is something symbolic to it. Looking forward to HM's message!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas Charlotte—Christmas morning is usually a quiet affair, Mr Jo is not into Christmas sadly. So your cheery blog really brightened my morning up and I can’t tell you how I appreciate it. My goodness there are a lot of Royals! I was wondering who the handsome young men were walking behind W, K, H & M.
ReplyDeleteLove Kate’s Christmas look and her hat (kind of hat I would wear) and it is so sweet how she and W hold hands. And it was also sweet to see Meghan chatting with Kate. I do think M will be getting points from K because they were/are outsiders to Royal or even aristocratic protocol.
Princess Margaret’s grandsons, I think. I can see their father behind them but haven’t spotted their mother.
DeleteAnother male Scrooge! I've been feeding several of them this past night! Leo tolerates Christmas because company demands it, but he is no enthusiast and he has company. Hope Mr Jo got in the spirit before the day was out.
DeleteAlways fun to see all the royals! I was sorry to miss Zara but I'm sure she's happy to be where it's warm.
I do think Patricia's right on the identification.
I like the tartan on Kate but as usual not the short girlish length. Meghan looks fine as do the rest.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas everyone!! And thank you Charlotte as always for your excellent work.
Happy Christmas, Julia.
DeleteDo you share my view that there were many important visuals today? The Queen arriving with Camilla; Charles leading the RF as they walked to church (with Andrew at his side); with W&K and H&M a safe distance behind him? ;-)
Harry's coat is shorter. ;)
DeleteHsppy Christmas royalfan - hope it was a wonderful one for you. I'm utterly shattered but very happy - Hubby, dogs and family all well fed and content! So hope this sleepy comment makes sense.
DeleteI did find it interesting that the queen rode with Camilla instead of Sophie as usual, like she did yesterday. I do wonder if it was significant or whether Camilla finds the walk too difficult now. Sophie looked beautiful but she must have been chilled to death in that coatdress - it's so cold by the Wash. That made me wonder if she had been meant to ride with the queen.
I think in the DM there was a photo of the queen with Camilla behind her that was almost ghostly - the ghost of Christmas Future perhaps.
I did think Charles leading made a statement. After church they left in order of precedence - William/Kate, Harry/Meghan and then Andrew who had his girls come out first - but then Andrew and Charles walked together. I saw no interaction between Charles and his heir. My feeling is there is still tension there. Did you see the recent Richard Kay article on that subject?
Next year I'm hoping we might see George - I'm thinking it's less a specific age than how they behave.
The queen's speech was very moving - I always find the choice of photos very interesting - Charles and Camilla very prominent but off to the side. Coupled with last year's photo, I do think the queen is making a statement both on the succession - and with the photos of the little ones, along with her and the duke - on the past and future.
No coincidences for sure, rf. you know how the Queen did that photo thing with Carole Middleton.
DeleteHer arriving with Camilla was also for a reason. And Charles leading the procession was the other part of that, you're right.
Julia, hopefully, today is a more relaxing day for you. I love this time of year, but it does come with a dash of stress. :-)
DeleteRegarding Camilla accompanying the Queen, I think Harriet @4:08 here absolutely nailed the reason for it and it makes complete sense. As planned out as everything appears to be, it seems that the RF, too, can experience a last minute shakeup.
Also completely agree on the photo placements both this year and last.
SG, very true, but I think Harriet filled in the missing pieces for us!! This was Puzzle 201, rather than 101. 🤓😄😜
rf, Julia. I didn't get the connection of Charles walking by Andrew but I did think it odd at the time and no I didn't sense any rapport between Charles and Andrew. God help them. Andrew positioning the girls spoke volumes. Sophie with eveningwear and no coat spoke volumes. (THAT was so weird.) Did Charles lead the procession? Wasn't Prince Phillip in the lead, bless him.
DeleteJulia, I wasn't sure what you meant by no interaction between Charles and his heir. The video of them leaving the church shows Charles joking and chatting with his kids/SO's.
DeleteKatie. Did Julia mean Andrew or William?
DeleteI thought she meant Andrew. (Andrew is still in the line of succession and so are his girls, yeh?) Charles was talking and laughing with his boys and their wives. :) But the tension between Charles and Andrew seemed obvious, although, sadly, I get that impression about Andrew no matter who he is beside. God help him. :)
I meant William - I saw Charles look over his shoulder and speak to the four - but otherwise didn't see much connection. I could be wrong. Certainly the interview with Harry was very warm.
DeleteLoving this Christmas post! It is good to see a big royal turnout this year. Although I must say I was expecting larger crowds this year considering it's Meghan's first. I remember Kate's first Christmas at Sandringham with photos of her carrying piles and piles of flowers and gifts. Maybe they just didn't spend too much time on the walkabout? Anyhow it is always a lovely occasion. I can't wait to listen to the Queen's Christmas speech.
ReplyDeleteKate looks lovely, I think. There's a certain serenity in her. And she looks much more pregnant now than at this stage in previous pregnancies. Blessing all around to you and everyone on this blog.
I remember those scenes, too, when there was an abundance of not only flowers but gifts! Maybe we will see more of that when George and Charlotte are old enough to attend church.
DeleteBoth ladies look stunning. Diana would be so proud of her boys. They look happy, healthy and kind. Shining examples of the love they received from their mother who was taken too young. God bless them all.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning & Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI do like the coat, at first the pattern was a bit much but the more I look at it, the more I’m liking it. I don’t like the hat at all, this seems to be a running theme today as I didn’t like Meghan’s hat either. I really like the earrings but I’m not sure they were the right color choice with that coat.
I love to see William & Kate holding hands and walking with Harry & Meghan. I can’t wait for their first official four way engagement! I wouldn’t be surprised if William & Kate offered Harry & Meghan Anmer Hall as a place to spend time in the early days of their relationship so they weren’t stalked in London.
Merry Christmas Charlotte and Duchess Kate fans and the Happiest of New Years!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas to everyone! I absolutely adore Kate's look today. Very festive and fits her pregnant look well. She looks best dressed to me. She and William look lovely and relaxed. I am a bit surprised at what Sophie was wearing. I was wondering what everyone else thought of it?
ReplyDeleteHi Rita, I loved Sophie's look but gosh it didn't look warm enough for a chilly, windy day. I've noticed that Sophie takes some fashion risks, some pay off and some don't but I think today's look was fabulous!
DeleteI am not a fan of Sophie's coat. Looked like an evening coat to me. Thought Harry's coat was very off. Seemed a bit too short and the fit was off. I wondered if he had stuff in his pockets or something underneath..
DeleteWell, I thought Sophie's coat was an odd choice (as in not practical) given that she was walking with the rest of the RF rather than arriving by car with the Queen (as she did yesterday). Three quarter length sleeves and open neckline *today*? Did anyone else hear the wind in some of the videos...and see how bundled up people were? Brrrrr... :-)
DeleteI love Sophie’s dress, but she did look cold. Long sleeves and gloves wold have been a better idea, imo.
DeleteI thought I was the only one doing a double take on Sophie. The outfit itself is very nice but way more suited to an evening engagement, like at the theater or something. It's overly dressy but not warm enough for a morning church service that involves a walk.
DeleteAlso, although I loved the blue color of Eugenie's coat, I did not like the weird color blocking on the rest of it.
Well, I'll say it, royalfan. She was not expecting to walk. That's why she was not dressed for it. And she wanted to be sure it was understood that she had not expected to walk or she could have easily sent someone to fetch a warmer coat and gloves. Louise was dressed properly.
DeleteI think this scenario may also explain why Camilla's outfit clashed with the Queen's. It was not the plan. Things were rearranged.
And Louise in front, walking with Prince Phillip? Otherwise, the Queen's four children walked in front, followed by Harry and William. Nothing too unusual there. It is a family event. The succession is not the primary message--or perhaps not the message originally intended.
OMG, Harriet, me thinks you nailed it. What can I say...i was having a slow day yesterday. :-)
DeleteYou're correct! Sophie was expecting to accompany the Queen and, most likely, Charles intervened to protect himself and his wife from being left to feel awkward as all attention was on the, now, fab four.
And, yes, an outfit could easily have been switched, especially since I believe that E&S spend some time at Sandringham over the holidays.
Wait a minute. Surely Sophie could have borrowed a coat. Surely. It seemed to me perhaps she was not just very cold, but a little miffed perhaps.
DeleteThat is not a short walk and it was blusteringly cold. Wearing what she wore was peculiar and not very weather wise. Did she not think people would comment? When someone is in light eveningwear in the freezing cold something isn't right. She could have easily borrowed a coat.
I think it was probably a very last-minute change and Sophie was not hiding the fact. It may be there was not time to send for a coat. Sophie could either stay behind or walk as is. She chose to walk. Good for her!
DeleteI think that explains why Sophie's children had been parceled out, as an arrangement while Sophie rode with HM...Louise was with the Duke and her brother with Edward, as he walked with the first fab four...Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward. ;0 In addition, Sophie's place behind W&H was jarring to me- with no immediate family beside her. Tim Lawrence was close to Anne, with Peter and Autumn. Why wasn't Sophie with or just behind Edward.
I think it is more of the balcony shuffle and other RF media events (Parliament opening, Remembrance Day?) -people were unceremoniously shoved aside then and I can imagine that as the scenario here.
My guess is that this time it related more to the positioning of photos in the Queen's speech.
Charles seems to be constantly jockeying for position for Camilla and himself and HM seems to try to even things out and stress family core over the succession, especially at Christmas, a family event. As jovial as the family seems, it must be a particularly uncomfortable and confusing situation to have to live with...especially for Meghan, who has to navigate those choppy and unknown seas. Wild guess here--Kate may have removed herself, at least mentally, from the intrigue. The way William and Meghan were grasping their mates--I think they may be feeling it.
royalfan-I generally go by the assumption that the simplest explanation is often the correct one.
DeleteAlthough I do enjoy enlarging on a subject from time to time. ;)
I do not think any of this happened the way you all are speculating. They all looked lovely.
Delete:-) And it was appreciated!
Deleteyep. ditto, rf. :)
DeleteI absolutely love this whole outfit on Kate! So festive, and that hat...love it!! Adorable was the first word that came to mind. Charlotte, thank you for a wonderful year of posts. Looking forward to 2018! Merry Christmas to everyone! 🎄🎅🏻❤️🥂🎄🎅🏻❤️🥂
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteLove Kate’s look! Very old fashioned Christmas, and I’m here for it. Love the coat and hat combo. Looks like she belongs on a Christmas card, in the best possible way!
Merry Christmas!! Thank you Charlotte for a terrific post on this happy holiday. I couldn't wait to see your post today to see the Royal Family on the walk to the church- always one of my favorites. Kate looked very festive today in her tartan outfit and it was great to see the Royal 4 together today. I was not so fond of Meghan's outfit, but it suited her and her style. Can't wait to see what 2018 brings- we know a wedding and a new baby, so it is already looking to be an exciting year. Thanks again for a year of wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteOops, Charlotte, I think there's a very small typo that changes the meaning of a word a lot - I think to say quite instead of quiet. I was thinking, wow, no, it's not been a quiet year at all! lol. Merry Christmas and thank you for this blog. I've just gotten up here in Boston, I slept quite late but was up late last night. The first thing I'm doing before opening our gifts is coming here to your blog to check out the Royals' Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI made a typo! I meant to write "you meant to" before the word say.
DeleteYou, Pam from Boston, are a true DKB'er. :)
DeleteI am it’s true! I don’t get to comment often with my full time job, 4 kids, and husband’s schedule means more errands, kid shuttling and house work falls on my shoulders, but I always find time for DKB!
DeleteI think her earrings are citrine, if they are the same ones she wore in Ireland.
ReplyDeleteI love Kate's coat and that it's festive and Christmas-ey without being a too literal interpretation. It's the teal color in place of green that keeps it from being too kitschy. And I know others disagree, but I love her hair length right now and how it's styled today - straight waves (or is that an oxymoron?)...rather than curls.
ReplyDeleteI love Kate's look. The earrings are really nice addition to the overall look. I really like her hat and I like the length of her coat. She looks relaxed and happy. So fun to see so many of the family out together.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Charlotte
ReplyDeleteYour efforts and insights are so mag!
And, the promoters of your posts, admirable
Loved Catherine's look
Coat and hat so festive and gorgeous
I must say, cather5looks so beautiful when pregnant and in her middle months
Love this blog!
Merry Christmas!
I think Kate is wearing the Alice gloves by Cornelia James. Don't like the coat but love the hat and gloves!
ReplyDeleteWonderful speech! The Queen is such a powerful and amazing symbol of continuity, steadfastness and hope. God bless HM!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed!
DeleteAnd Merry Christmas to all who are celebrating. :-)
Kate looks fabulous in her festive coat and hat. Merry Christmas, everyone!
ReplyDeleteKate is so pretty in this outfit! I like everything in it! And her hair and skin look amazing as well. Meghan is also very elegant.
ReplyDeleteAgree with both your comments, Pam from Boston.
ReplyDeleteThe whole family looks so happy! The best thing they are wearing are the smiles. Thanks Charlotte, and Merry Christmas to you all!
ReplyDeleteJust watched the queens speech... Liked she put personal words in it and said some words about prince Philip.
ReplyDeleteMe too, very much!
DeleteIt brought tears into my eyes.
DeleteI have been checking this blog all day to see this post! A silly thing to do given the time difference but I was so excited. I love Kate's coat. I would wear this coat in winter, not just at Christmas time. I would pair it with my new Dune Toulon boots that I got one sale (Thanks Charlotte for your tips on Thanksgiving sales, I finally bought my first Kate piece that wasnt a replikate!)
ReplyDeleteIt has been a right royal day for me. The royal variety performance aired today, followed the movie 'A Royal Night Out', plus family time for the holiday. This blog was a lovely end to a lovely day.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
Happy Christmas everyone. Kate looked so pretty today, I do love her ❤️❤️. Happy 2018 for her, William, George and Charlotte xx
ReplyDeleteThe Duchess nailed it today. Her easy warmth and lovely demeanor just shows. Thank you Charlotte for making my Christmas even more wonderful. I can't wait till the day George and Charlotte make their first walk to church.
ReplyDeleteYes.Thank You Charlotte for the Christmas treats.🎄
DeleteShe Really Did! :)
DeleteMerry Christmas, everyone! I am up early in the US and checking Charlotte's wonderful blog before the rest of the family wakes up. What a happy scene in Sandringham!
ReplyDeleteI like the cheerfulness of Kate's outfit, and the understated elegance of Meghan's. Also the way Harry seems to be explaining what happens next to Meghan in one of the departure videos.
It's fun to imagine what a great time they are all having with George and Charlotte. Mayhem in pajamas around the Christmas tree this morning?
Zoey, I too got up early to check this blog! Lol. 430am here in Mississippi, USA. Charlotte did a wonderful job. Merry Christmas to you and yours
DeleteOh Zoey, I think we all were sneaking off for some quiet "me" time, to open our own Special Gift To Us From Charlotte! I am So Grateful, not only for Charlotte, but for all of you who are my Special RF & Kate/Meghan Fellow Followers. It's so wonderful to have you all to share in the Joys & Sorrows as we follow The Journey of This Family! Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays To "My DKB/MM Family"! :) xoxo
Delete++, Becca!
DeleteYou put it so well, Becca! Opening our Special Gift :) - how very true! 🎁
DeleteI don’t love this coat. I like that it is festive colours, and love the gold buttons! Maybe it’s the pattern or something? I like her other tartan style coat but not this one. I do like her hat! It looks like her grey one she wore last year! Meghan looks nice too, I just wish her coat was shorter, even though she is tall, it looks sort of like it’s swollowing her, especially with the large collar(although I do love the collar!) not crazy about that hat though! Everyone looks nice all dressed up though! Merry Christmas everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!! I dint quite like the coat either,,but its Christmassy so its all good :)
DeleteMeghan sure looks comfortable with the family,,and she and Harry make a splendid couple!
Thank You Charlotte on this lovely Christmas Day!!XOXO
Ahh! An extra treat to see the little cuties George and Charlotte taking centre stage on the Queen's mantelpiece for the Christmas address.
ReplyDeleteAnd, Harry and Meghan's photo from the photo op prior to their engagement Interview.
DeleteAND, did anyone notice that in the (younger) Queen's video, she was wearing gold lame' (very pretty) so an evening gown for engagement photos perhaps isn't OTT at all. :)
I Knoooow! :) xo
DeleteCharlotte and all readers: Merry Christmas from my home to your's!
ReplyDeleteRight Back Atcha Tammy! :) xo
DeleteLOVE the photo of the four of them by Karen Anvil.
ReplyDeleteThat is one for the history books. I love the one of them curtsying to the Queen too. I hope Meghan learns to look at the Queen while curtsying. I am sure the Queen enjoys that. :)
Meghan was with them for the service and the walk.
Again, somebody pinch me. lol
Love and warm hugs to you all. ❤️🎄
Hi Surfer Girl, I've read that one should bow one's head while curtsying.
Deletehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curtsey
P.S. Meghan did give the Queen eye contact before the curtsy and a big beautiful smile. (I hadn't see no the video yet.)
DeleteI would if I could SG, but I need to be pinched too! :) xo
DeleteThanks, Lauri. :)
DeleteBecca, lol. Consider yourself pinched. 👌 :)
DeleteKate looks unique as befitting a princess. Meghan's coat looks sloppy and her hat is not flattering at all.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to all. Absolutely adore these photos. They are all gorgeous and I love the happiness they exude. Kate's outfit is beautiful and she looks fabulous. What a happy time for them.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen is just amazing! I started reading here for Kate, but really enjoy learning about the Queen as much as I enjoy learning about all of the charities supported by the royal family.
ReplyDeleteI thought Kate looked fantastic - I like the coat and hat.
Thank you Charlotte for taking time out of your holiday to keep us all up-todate.
Amen! xo
DeleteHappy Christmas Charlotte! Thank you for taking your time to blog about our beloved Duchess today. I love the photos and especially loved the video of her interacting with that fan in the crowd. She's become such a natural it makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteThe Queen's speech if tightly serious but optimistic. Lovely touch to see the Cambridge kids showing prominently.
I love the coat. Yes the pattern is s lot, but if you can't wear a red and green plaid coat at Christmas then when can you?!
ReplyDeleteHaha I'd wear it all year round if I could...I have a weakness for anything plaid or tartan :P
DeleteI'm going to jump in before I've read any of the comments. :) "The Fab Four" I Love It! xoxo I admit to choking up & feeling emotional seeing the four of them walking together, celebrating Christmas at Sandringham During this 20th Anniversary Year of Diana's Death.... Oh my how they would Love to Have Her With Them To Celebrate This Amazing Time in Their lives & to know her Daughter in laws (1 soon to be).... 2018 will be quite full & emotional too I'm sure! Plus to have Prince Phillip & The Queen there was also emotional! It's such a "Moment in Time" To Treasure, for Their Whole Family! I loved seeing a rare glimpse of Kate & Meghan chatting back & forth. :) I remember how thrilled I was to get my first Sister in law & to have someone to share that special role of being in a Family you married into. This was just The Best Christmas Present from Myself To Myself.... To Tuck away all by myself by The Christmas Tree & Curl Up To Come Here To Read DKB & MM! Thank you Charlotte So Very Much for A Gift That We Can Open 365 Days of The Year! :) May You & Our Whole DKB/MM Family Have A Very Happy & Special Christmas & Holiday Season! Thank You All For The Lively Banter & Many Laughs! Love To You All! xoxo
ReplyDeleteBeccaUSA
I love the Queen's speech and her bold acknowledement of Jesus, her foundational strength and stay.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone wants to know how she has been such a steadfast Queen and role model all these many years, she just told us. That makes my heart sing. ❤️🎼
I also love her comment about platinum anniversaries.
The reports of her witty sense of humor are obviously true. :)
Her comment on how Prince Phillip "economically" said, "I've done my bit" was so sweet.
I love the Queen and Prince Phillip. They were born for such a time as this. ❤️
❤️ Long Live The Queen ❤️
I too found the Queen's speech witty, somber, and loving towards faith and family. I always look forward to seeing what photos she has chosen for her desk and background.
DeleteSo who are the two young men that walked behind Harry & Peter? One had longish hair, the other a blue tie but both stood out as unknown faces to me. Were they with Beatrice & Eugenie? Boyfriends? Just curious. Happy to see Harry no longer alone. =) Meghan's outfit could work well for Autumn too. =) Like the festive feel of Catherine's coat. I didn't realize her shoes had what looks like rubber bumps on the soles, until I saw the close up photo--must be great no-slip soles!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to everyone including Charlotte who does a great job on this blog! April-May's going to be busy w/ all the pre-wedding & wedding events!
Pretty sure they are staff or some sort!
DeleteThe late Princess Margaret's grandsons, the Chatto boys, Arthur and Samuel and Charles,Viscount Linley.
DeleteThere were three young men-Lady Sarah Chatto's sons, Samuel and Arthur, and Earl Snowdon's son Charles.
DeleteI could see the Chatto men, and eventually a picture of Earl Snowdon and lovely Margarita. Still haven’t found Lady Sarah or Countess Serena. Snowdon looks much older than in pictures from not too long ago.
DeleteThose Chatto boys have grown up to be very good looking young man. So has Margarita Armstrong-Jones. I am missing Zara and her family, who are in Australia. My understanding is Mia is yet to experience Christmas at Sandringham. The young ones have grown up now and we have a new crop of little royals. I pray that Mia will get a baby brother or sister soon. It would be wonderful after their devastating miscarriage last year.
DeleteThank you so much! Mystery solved for me.
DeleteLady Sarah was there walking with Edward one day and Charles another. Earl Snowden walked too, spitted him in Christmas Eve photos.
DeleteEventually I caught a glimpse of Lady Sarah, in a deep blue hat and coat. Still haven’t spotted Serena.
DeleteLovely photos from today. So many smiling faces.
ReplyDeleteI like Kate's coat (traditional and festive) and love it when she wears this style hat. It really frames her face nicely. Meghan looked nice and I thought her color scheme was a good choice for this first Christmas.
Kate looks gorgeous in this style of hat...I really like it! Everyone did look happy & glowing :)
DeleteBeautiful photos!! Kate looks her usual splendid, tailored self in this coat and hat. Love the cut of the coat, especially the sleeves. Wish it were a bit longer to see more of the a-line of the coat. Kate exudes happiness, graciousness, and just an all around glow this pregnancy. William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan, the four of them, look very nice and quite natural together.
ReplyDeleteMy loves: William and Kate holding hands while walking to the church; a very happy Harry and his fiance; Prince Philip walking; the Queen's speech; the Queen's elegance and strength; that pretty pink baubled tree in the background; the pictures on the table which, to me, symbolize, the past, the present, and the future with George and Charlotte; those beautiful children singing Christmas carols; and last, but not least, this blog and the cammraderie that it brings.
To those who have lost loved ones this year, it is my hope this holiday season that all find peace in the memories of how they touched your life. Happy holidays to all! cc
What a beautiful message CeCe. Merry Christmas to you too. I agree about Kate's glow. She's very luminous and just a joy to see. Fingers crossed for a wonderful 2018 for everyone here!
DeleteI love Kate’s outfit, including the plaid and the warm hat. She looks lovely. Personally, I would look better in Meghan’s outfit, except the hat, but it does not seem especially Christmasy. Still, she is to be commended for wearing her warm Canadian attire until she is married.
ReplyDeleteI am so relieved to see Prince Philip looking hale and hearty. I wonder whether he had the miserable chest virus and fever in November that I have now. I know it traveled halfway across this country with my family starting a couple of weeks after he looked so ill, and we are still passing it around.
The Queen is wearing her Australian brooch, and she mentioned the Australian comnonwealth games in her speech. But does blaze orange have a symbolic meaning? Pretty as her outfit is, it sure clashed with the Duchess of Cornwall’s fuchsia!
Possibly the colour of Uluru and the Aussie Outback? It’s a bright colour, suits her better than I thought it would.
DeleteIt is a bright orange. I wonder if it was a pure orange or more red orange in person.
DeleteThanks for the suggestions, Alison, which seem quite suggestive of her intent to me.
DeleteHappy Christmas! It is always a pleasure seeing our royal family at Christmas. My absolute favourite is the video of William and Kate talking and holding the hand of what looks like a comatose woman in a wheelchair. Very touching and compassionate. It looks like they were among the last to walk back to the big house.
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to find that video and realized it's at the end of the Telegraph wrap up! So lovely. I'm glad Willam and Kate stayed with the crowd the longest. I heard from Twitter than many in the crowd were disappointed that most of the royals pretty much just walked past them.
DeleteThanks for the Telegraph tip, Rowena. I found the video. I had seen the video of Harry and Meghan chatting but, as you said, had to watch to the end of The Telegraph to see W & K. So kind and solicitous!
DeleteWatching The Grand Daughters in law (1 still to be) Bowing to The Queen, I was taken by the realization that HM really has evolved into a Mother Figure not only to Both Boys but also to Kate & now Meghan too.... HM reminds me So Much of My Mother in law who not only looks like HM, but also fills that Wonderful Matriarch Role for us all, from Her Children to Her Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren. I was saying to my husband on our way home from her hosting all 30 of us for an Elegant Weekend including a Formal Ball then an Elegant Christmas Eve Dinner.... I said what are we going to do without her some day? (she's also the same age as The Queen). So I was very moved looking at the photos & watching the video coverage of today. Life is So Precious!

Kate looks so festive. The coat is lovely but I can't help thinking - especially styled with the hat, which I love and am wondering, doesn't she have a similar hat? - that the length and flair of her coat two years ago (the Moulah?) would have been better. I would have loved those two coats together.
ReplyDeleteShe does look lovely. I don't remember seeing those earrings before. I do say, it looks really cold with a strong wind blowing. May all of you and yours have a splendid holiday.
Happy Christmas! What a lovely family day in Norfolk! No doubt the Queen is delighted to have so many family members to celebrate with and welcome in her home. I loved watching her Christmas message this year and the theme she chose, “Home”. It seems so fitting as she has always hosted lovely family gatherings and with the tragic events in London and around the world this past year. Her Majesty is always such a bright and joyful example, even through tragic times.
ReplyDeleteKate looked so beautiful and festive today! I loved her coat and hat, but her smile radiates happiness to so many. William looked handsome and HM looked glorious in her bright orange too!
Everyone looked happy and relaxed! I hope celebrations were as happy and fun and I especially hope sweet Prince George got his police car. What a joy children are! Charlotte, thank you for all the love and hard work your pour into the blog. It is always beautiful and perfect. Merry Christmas to all the blog readers worldwide from Texas!
Kate’s dress is beautiful and festive, I hope George and Charlotte will walk with them next year.
ReplyDeleteKate looks Gorgeous . Prince William is now completely bald I see. Meghan looks very cute but a bit scared must be overwhelming. Her Majesty looks gorgeous and elegant God bless Her. It is sad it has been 20 years since Diana died wow how time flies but she must be happy smiling down in heaven seeing both her boys have found love with two lovely people. hopefully now she can finally REST IN PEACE.
ReplyDeleteThank you Charlotte for all your hard work and Merry Christmas to you !
I wonder if Beatrice has hurt her foot or had surgery. I noticed she was wearing trainers (running shoes) on another outing a week ago.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the video on the Telegraph/DM, IMO Harry actually looked nervous coming out of the church and was looking to W & K for some levity. Which William seemed to provide because I saw Harry break out into a smile and Meghan as well. Harry leaned in to say something to Kate and she smiled. And it somehow reminded me of that first Christmas after Diana's death, two brothers together outside of the regular RF as usual. And it did seem as if the four were the only Royals who actually stopped and chatted with all of the well-wishers?
Sadly that wasn't the case. Many were left disappointed this year because the meet and greet period was very rushed. That explains the lack of crowd photos and quotes. All the royals did some of it, but Willam and Kate stayed the longest. They were the last to reach Sandringham House.
DeleteKate looks wonderful as always. Does anyone know who the designer of her hat is?
ReplyDeleteReally interesting seeing the four of them together and watching them interact. Love Kate’s coat but hate the hat.
ReplyDeleteI love Kate's whole look! The coat is bright and festive. It's short but not too short( I am not a fan of the mid calf length skirts, though it's a very British country look). think the hat is a great compliment and works for the cold winter. The gloves and clutch are a solid choice. I don't think the earrings quite match, but appreciate they have some shape to them and are not just studs or teardrops. Every once in a while it's fun to play with shapes. But the biggest part was her confidence and ease. I think someone said it above, she just seems to radiate the vibe of 'I am in a good place now.' Like it was a successful holiday, she's having a great time with family, she's felling better all combined into one.
ReplyDeleteShe and William holding hands was adorable. Very easy and natural. Very much a loving couple heading into church, not so stiff and as uncomfortable as they may have been in the past.
I bet tomorrow(well, technically today since it's after ten here in the eastern USA), will be a lot of fun. Still holiday high but with none of the crazy running around of Christmas/Christmas Eve. Just fun relaxing as the Fab Four with some adorable kids and a dog(and hamster).
Two dogs? Maybe Meghan’s is also there.
DeleteI love that Telegraph video of W&K. William has a natural compassion and Kate, even at 5 months pregnant, bends down to meet the infirmed. I heard somewhere that they spent the most time with the people gathered, and as usual, William had to wait for Kate because she's so chatty. I hope the family had a lovely Christmas, and George and Charlotte enjoyed their presents.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing William interact with the crowd So much like his mother in that respect.
DeleteYes, very much like his mother.
DeleteThe infirmed? They were all able bodied people who say or stood in the cold to greet the royals on Christmas morning. How are they “infirmed?” This was not a hospice visit.
DeleteFatima. Many were in wheelchairs and two of them were not able to speak or move on their own. They were borderline comatose. There's a name for their condition. They have to be bathed dressed, fed, and helped in just about every way. They are infirm. When William and Kate spoke to them they were going by faith that those two people even understood what they were saying or if they even knew they were being spoken to. And some of the elderly there accompanied and help by their caregivers were infirm also. God help them all.
DeleteFatima, there were a number of people in wheelchairs. There is videonif Kate bending over to speak to someone who (based on the video) was elderly and non-communicative. You see Kate check with the caregiver to make sure she isn't missing some sort of response.
DeleteSpeaking of presents, Carolyn Durand said that William told well wishers that Prince George indeed got his wish for Christmas - his police car! Hooray for George!
ReplyDeleteYay for George! He is a dear boy. I am sure he got more than one police car, but how refreshing for a child to only ask for one present! My nieces and nephews always fill the entire piece of paper and the list is distributed among family. This is why I'm always broke after the holidays!
DeleteOh, suddenly I have so many visuals of W&H as little boys.... :-)
DeletePerhaps, if William is like a lot of other dads, he will gladly join George in playing with his car(s)! and later trains and helicopters, etc.etc... 😁
DeleteI think he does quite a bit, Zora. They seem quite close. I remember when George was very young and he could name helicopter parts. That's got to be from Dad!
DeleteDefinitely, Carla. Given the large rooms of their homes, I suppose there can be a nice long motorway for the cars or the railway or runway or whatever! I love it how grown-up men turn into little boys in a second, once they get a legitimate reason for it (such as playing with their kids :) ).
DeleteI love, love, love Catherine's festive new coat, the tartan and colors are perfect. The hat looked to be a lovely accessory and out of all the royals, Catherine looked toasty and warm (although pregnancy could have helped with that too as it always seemed like I ran 10 degrees hotter than everyone else when I was pregnant with my son!).
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the upcoming visit to Sweden and Norway!
Best wishes for a safe and happy start to the new year to all.
Border Terrier lover :-)

DeleteThe flower of diamonds over Kate’s earlobes has five petals. Maybe symbolic of her family come April?
ReplyDeleteHi. Bonnie Lass here again. Looks like I was correct in identifying Kate's gloves as Alice by Cornelia James as Cornelia James have just confirmed that it is in fact the Alice gloves on their Instagram page.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is having a wonderful holiday, and Charlotte, so many thanks to you for taking time out of your day to keep us up to date! I loved seeing the “Fab Four” together - this in itself was like a Christmas gift! I think Kate will be a fabulous queen - she seems much more relaxed with people now, and growing into the role. LeahMaria
ReplyDeleteI think Kate looks beautiful, radiant, happy and healthy. Simply fantastic! I love her entire ensemble: the coat is exquisite, and it fits her perfectly; the hat looks great and all the other accessories are flawless. The entire look is perfect for the occasion. William and Kate make a beautiful couple.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte. Kate's hat is the "Vallford Alpaca Fur Hat" available at PeruvianConnection.com. They have acknowledged the hat as theirs. It comes in black, snow, caramel, brown and gray. It is $99. The company is based in Kansas.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Kansas City Star, "The Duchess of Cambridge's Christmas Hat....", Lisa Gutierrez, 12/26/17.
ReplyDeleteThank you Surfer Girl :)
DeleteNot sure where that hat came from but I've also seen it credited to Lacorine. Kate has bought hats from the company before https://www.lacorine.co.uk/lacorine-press/duchess-of-cambridge-wears-larcorine~9
DeleteHow interesting. The first time we suggested outfits for the Duchess, I chose several garments from Peruvian Connection. Never before have I seen any indication that she might use their things. I hope they are right. And I love the look of those warm, furry hats.
DeleteMaybe Kate didn't purchase this particular hat--a gift? Kansas...although it has been documented that she purchased three hats over time from Lacorine. It was speculated-one for herself and one each for her Mum and Pippa.
DeletePatricia, a sweet thought but no, just a lovely pear of earrings I think.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte, do you know when Charlotte (the princess) will start nursery? I'm looking forward to seeing a photo or two of her.
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteTerm starts 4 January :)
Wow that's really soon! I am looking forward to it too! Do you think we will have a semi public christening for the new baby when he or she is born? If we go by Charlotte's christening, it will be in the summer again I think.
DeleteHey Charlotte have you seen the Royal Family including Kate are getting there own Funko Pop. For the uninitiated They are toy heads which are all the range atm. https://www.funko.com/blog/article/339738627/coming-soon-pop-royals
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteI haven't, I'll take a look now :)
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteJust now having a chance to pop in and participate, and wanted to say I'm a fan of Kate's outfit. Surprisingly (as it is not maternity and is double breasted), the coat fits her well. I don't see the ill fit others have commented on. I think the length is very flattering as well. The print is festive but not cliche as the teal does dominate. The inverted pleat on the back is a great design element as is the row of descending buttons. I think I would have preferred knee high boots instead of the pumps but that's a minor quibble. Absolutely love this hat. I think this style frames her face in a beautiful way. The black is sole out:(. Otherwise, I would have been placing my order today. Great winter hat.
You have written exactly what I have been thinking, Erika! Thanks. I have also liked the perfectly matched plaid. This coat is a beautiful garment.
DeletePrince Harry said Meghan thrived in the family environment she had never before known, and had a fantastic time at Christmas. He also mentioned the work side of Christmas and the family side. I wondered whether he thinks of church and the walk as the work side, or whether it includes the Sandringham culture. He said Boxing Day at Anmer Hall had been completely relaxed and a lot of fun. Oh to be a mouse in the corner. But no, I am glad to know it was utterly private and lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteHmm beladed happy xmas and blessful new year the ducheas never failed me to smile in my face no matter what she wearing its great too see another new member. The royal family She looks good thevduchess looks so happy and healthy and she always glowing
ReplyDelete
