The Cambridges Join Charles & Camilla For DNRC Visit & Ireland Trip Confirmed

It was a rare joint engagement for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall today.

The foursome joined forces to visit the Defence National Rehabilitation Centre Stanford Hall, Stanford on Soar, Loughborough.

More from The Telegraph:

'Logistically, the royals admitted, it was something of a challenge.  “There’s too many of us!” said Prince Charles, telling watching reporters he hoped their shorthand was up to scratch “with so many of us running around”.
It is bad enough with just two visitors, Prince William joked. “When there’s four of us it’s a nightmare."

It marks William, Kate, Charles and Camilla's first joint engagement since they attended a charity concert in aid of The Prince's Trust at the Royal Albert Hall in 2011 which raised funds for the Royal Foundation and the Prince's Trust City Riots Appeal. Do you all remember the ZARA Tulip dress Kate wore that evening? I recall a flurry of Repli-Kate dresses all over the high street in the weeks and months after. It was just about six months after the wedding - an incredibly exciting time in royal watching.

Today's engagement is closely connected to the family. The Defence National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) was the brainchild of the late Gerald Grosvenor, 6th Duke of Westminster, who led the £300m fundraising drive with a personal gift of £70m. Sadly the Duke passed away in 2016 and did not have the opportunity to see the project come to fruition.

More from the DNRC website:

'The idea of creating a 21st century version of the existing Defence rehab centre, Headley Court in Surrey, in a new location to serve the future needs of serving members of the Armed Forces came from the 6th Duke of Westminster.
He raised it in the MoD in the late summer of 2008 with the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff for whom he was working at that time as the senior reservist in Defence as a Major General.  The Duke had served in the Reserve Army for 40 years and knew, first hand, the high price that members of the Armed Forces can pay for serving the nation.  He wanted to do something about it and ensure that seriously injured sailors, soldiers and members of the RAF would feel looked after and get the best possible care.
The idea was subsequently discussed with the Defence Secretary (Des, now Lord, Browne) who supported the Duke’s idea but asked whether he could at the same time ‘do something for the nation too’.  This was put to the Duke who agreed.
Meetings followed in the Vice Chief’s office involving Dame Carol Black (then the Government’s adviser at DWP), the Surgeon General and Arup.  They examined the basic feasibility of what was being proposed in terms of the clinical rehabilitation field of medicine.
The notion of a Defence and National Rehabilitation Centre (DNRC) programme was devised and put to the Duke at the end of 2008.  In 2009 it was developed with the other government departments and was put to Parliament in a written Ministerial Statement in June 2009.  That statement heralded the start of a year-long study in 2010, funded by the Duke, to examine the concept across government in detail.'

The Duke was Prince Charles' friend and close confidante for decades. His wife Natalia is Prince William's godmother and he has been credited with serving as a mentor to William over the years. The Cambridges have been loaned the Duke's jet on several occasions which has ensured family trips to Southern France and the French Alps were kept under the radar.

Prince William is Patron of the campaign to create the purpose built centre and attended the official handover with the Grosvenor family in 2018. Below, William and Gerald's son Hugh, the 7th Duke of Westminster at the event. Hugh is only 29 and a regular face on most eligible bachelor lists. He was chosen as one of Prince George's godparents.

Today, the Duke's vision....

....is very much a reality providing world-class rehabilitation facilities for members of the Armed Forces who have suffered major trauma or injury during their service.

They were welcomed by Captain Alison Hofman QARNNS, Commanding Officer of the DNRC and taken on a tour of the site.

They were shown some of the therapy areas and observed patients undertaking gym rehabilitation sessions.

Former Major Peter Norton, a triple amputee told the Mail Kate asked him about his mental health and the welfare aspect of the care he receives at DNRC. Mr Norton added the centre knows "the two go hand in glove".

More from the Mail:

'William also spent time talking to Emma Lumb, 25, from Barnsley, who served in the Royal Logistics Corps, and was paralysed from the neck downwards in a car accident last March. She was holding her son Lucus Murgatroyd, four, on her lap.
He asked her: ' Do you notice a difference [here]? Is it different being here as opposed to a civilian hospital? Do you stay here permanently? He also asked her: 'Is it important to be able to speak about stuff?'
Speaking afterwards Emma said: 'It makes a massive difference. You feel you are with your family, surrounded by the guys and the banter. Don't get me wrong, the NHS was brilliant when I had my accident. I couldn't have had better treatment. I can't fault it. But when you are in the army you are part of a very special family and moving forwards it is a better place for me to be. 'The staff here are so fantastic and they understand what it means to me.'

They visited the prosthetics workshop and heard from patients and staff about the range of multi-disciplinary clinical and therapy services available.

The royals met a group participating in wheelchair basketball sessions.

There were very sweet scenes when William gave wheelchair basketball a go. Charles was on hand to offer support and gave his son a pat on the shoulders for encouragement :)

A video from the engagement.

A lovely photo from the visit.

The Duchess selected a navy suit by Alexander McQueen featuring a military inspired jacket and a long skirt.

The eagle-eyed Heaven noted the wool crepe jacket is a past season piece with structured shoulders and button detailing. The skirt appears to be a custom version of the piece shown below from the 2017 collection.

Kate carried the McQueen Wicca mini satchel in black, she owns the bag in several colours.

I expect there's a special reason Kate chose the fashion house - today marks ten years since Alexander (Lee) McQueen died.

Kate wore her black suede Ralph Lauren boots.

And accessorised with her Mappin & Webb Empress earrings.

**************

Today's appearance follows an exclusive from the Sydney Morning Herald's Bevan Shields reporting William and Kate will undertake an official visit to Australia to "visit bushfire-ravaged Australian coastal towns during a special royal visit that will spur more international financial support for survivors and volunteer firefighters." Negotiations have been underway for weeks and Prime Minister Scott Morrison is expected to issue the formal invitation this week. The trip is expected to focus on New South Wales and Victoria, but it's very possible other states will be added before the finalised itinerary is complete. I could see this tour happening in April, with George and Charlotte on Easter break, it would be a good time to travel with the children. There was also a report in The Telegraph revealing plans for a tour in Colombia and Chile are underway.

And that's not all. Just as I was about to hit publish on this post, Kensington Palace confirmed the Duke and Duchess will visit Ireland between Tuesday 3rd March and Thursday 5th March. It will be their first joint visit to the country and according to media reports they are expected to spend time in Dublin and Cork. We'll hear the full itinerary in due course. It's certainly shaping up to be a very busy and interesting year.

In other news, a date has been set for Princess Beatrice's wedding. She will marry Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at the Chapel Royal, St James's Palace, where George and Louis were christened, on Friday 29 May. The wedding is not expected to be televised, though I do imagine a selection of photographs will be released on the day.

Finally from good news about an upcoming wedding, there's also very sad news to share. It's been confirmed today Peter Phillips (Princess Anne's son and the Queen's eldest grandchild) and his wife Autumn have separated. It is understood the couple told the Queen some months ago following a long period of discussions. Kate first met Her Majesty at their wedding in 2008.

A statement released today read:

“After informing HM The Queen and members of both families last year, Peter and Autumn jointly agreed to separate. They had reached the conclusion that this was the best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship.
The decision to divorce and share custody came about after many months of discussions and although sad, is an amicable one. The couples first priority will remain the continued well being and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah (9) and Isla (7).
Both families were naturally sad at the announcement, but fully supportive of Peter and Autumn in the joint decision to co parent their children. Both Peter and Autumn will remain in Gloucestershire to bring up their two children where they have been settled for a number of years.
Peter & Autumn have requested privacy and compassion for their children while the family continues to adapt to these changes.”

I very much hope the couple are given the space and privacy they need to focus on their daughters Savannah and Isla.

  1. Sorry but Kate's fashion in 2020 is kind of underwhelming for me.

    1. I agree, it seems like she is favoring long coats, skirts, pants this year. I like her dresses and dress coats style from previous years I hope she rewears some of those outfits.

    2. The year isn't over yet. It's freezing cold in the UK right now so she's dressing appropriately for this winter season. She usually wears coat dresses when the weather is much warmer.

    3. I am sad to say I agree. They are so high necked and very austere.
She looks good but it’s not my favorite look.
If the neck was a bit looser (not lower per se but open) then I would not mind the long skirt since it would balance it.

    4. Agreed. The proportions on this outfit are all wrong. I would like all the pieces worn separately, but together they look ill-fitting.

I think this would've looked better without such a severe collar. Anyway, it's undeniable that the tailoring on everything she wears is impeccable! I do like that she's straying a bit from the coatdress.

So sad about Peter & Autumn. They seemed like such a solid married couple. I wish them happiness & hope they find a groove in co-parenting their girls.

    6. I agree Ella. The top is ill-fitted and too tight on her like a straightjacket. Sorry, I couldn't put it differently. This is a nice example why I can't get AM design at all.

  3. I don’t usually comment negatively about Kate’s fashion but IMO that suit makes Kate look like a pencil. I don’t like the look but am still glad to see her and William as always. They both look so tall beside Charles and Camilla. I have osteoporosis, as I think Camilla does (or at least her mum did) and have lost an inch off my height in recent years. As I was only 5’2” to begin with, my teenaged grandchildren are now taller than I am. And slimmer too, I am definitely looking like a dear old granny. Oh well.

So sad about Peter Phillips and Autumn. Another reason I am glad to see William and Kate together so strongly. They have been together (not married but together) about the same length of time as P & A. As an expat Canadian myself living in the US, I have understood how one can miss one’s native land but I doubt that’s Autumn’s strongest reason for separating. We’ll not know though until the autobiographies come out.

Finally, I am hoping that the rumors are true and W & K are going to Australia.

    2. I concur! Kate looks so elegant in the deceptively simple, slightly edgy suit. Many interesting details -especially the military style jacket. The skirt length is perfect. I'm really loving her looks in 2020 thus far.

    3. I am with you. I think Kate looks gorgeous — so refined. The high collar reminds me a bit of the look Queen Mary favoured. Kate is so tall and slim — this suits is lively on her. I also like her hair in this style. It’s 10/10 for me.

  5. Kate looks really lovely but the suit does seem to overwhelm her slight frame at least in the few photos I have seen so far. I think most of that is due to the length of the skirt. May work better in person where the texture of the boots is more apparent. The overall look with the purse and gloves is really nice. What a nice engagement for the four of them to do together. I was also sorry to hear about Autumn and Peter's separation. I would be surprised if she moved back to Canada. However anything is possible or maybe they will separate and get back together after some work.

  6. I LOVE this outfit!! Kate looks beautiful and confident! The tailoring is superb!

  7. It's kinda funny how Harry and William are so tall, or those around them are short, that they always stand out. And Kate is tall but not super tall, I think 5' 9" without heels, but she always stands out. The rest of the RF always looks so much shorter, but I assume their kids will be tall and things will even out later. :)

I was so sad about Autumn and Peter! I don't actually think about them at all but it seems so sad for them to be separating with the two small adorable little girls so young. (I am bemused at the media's attempts to blame Meghan, or their leaving for Canada, on this split!) I'm sure Kate is affected -- for whatever reason they are splitting, I'm sure it will be sad for Kate and william, especially because of the girls.

Kate's outfit seems a bit severe but she may be allowing Camilla to shine, which is hard on a cold day as they seem to be having.

  8. Looks like Kate now favors a super long, straight silhouette that replaces the A line silhouette she wore for so many years. I'm not really crazy about this bc IMO it accentuates her long torso and lack of waist/hip definition. I think this outfit could look great if the skirt were shorter. Having said that I love the top half of the outfit. And her hair is nice.

    ReplyDelete

    1. I agree about the suit--the proportions are off, so her waist looks twice as long as it really is. I think shortening the *top* of the skirt would help a lot. Actually, I agree with your whole post! LOL I'm curious how her hair is done. It's not your standard "pull it back in a barette"; somehow the hair covers whatever is holding the hair back. I quite like the look.

      Delete
    2. Lisa I think Kate once she finds a new look she fancies tends to go all in on that new look ... until she finds something else. I've been noticing that all the new coats have been super-long and straight, versus the old A-line coats. The new skirts have also been long and straight, instead of the knee-length A-line skirts. I guess if you're royal and so much leeway to spend on clothes you want to experiment with new looks. But in this case I think the old A-line silhouette really did fit her best -- it made her waist not look as long, made her hips look more defined, and showed off her great legs.

      Delete
  9. I like this suit but I think the skirt could be slightly shorter especially when worn with boots. Lovely to see C & C and W & K at an event together.

  10. I should love this outfit, but I don't know, it looks a bit uncomfortable or something. The collar looks like it's be restrictive. Also the tightness around the hips. The buttons look like they're holding vents closed like temporary stitching on a new jacket. Does that make sense?

    1. I feel the same way--I should love it but I just don't! The button placement is odd as well as the silhouette and shape. Not my favorite--but I love Kate!

  11. Ha! It just goes to show that everyone has different taste. Unlike most of the comments so far, I love this outfit. I think Kate looks super sharp. The tailoring is excellent, and I love the length of the skirt. It is a nice change of silhouette. Sometimes the shorter skirts look kind of girl-ish on her, in my opinion. Also, I love it when she wears her hair half up and half down. So here is at least one vote for this look. Really, she looks pretty great in almost anything she wears. I am a fan :-)

    1. I agree with you wholeheartedly! I was so impressed with today's look. Only very few women have such a slim figure and gorgeous proportions! With Kate's impeccable tailoring she absolutely shines today, honoring Alexander McQueen's legacy in a big way. Honestly, in many of the side-by-side images of Kate and a model wearing the same clothing item, Kate outshines the professional model. I imagine today is no exception.
What I loved about the look: the shade of blue is gorgeous and the buttons add a flair. (Also the placement of the buttons is very flattering as it is not over her chest.) The cut is narrow and the collar is stiff and YET she makes it look so elegant and almost flowy and she looks so comfortable in it... most women would look too constricted in this type of tailoring, but not our Kate. The boots are to die for and she's wearing her hair in a youthful yet professional do, it's one of my favorite styles, especially for a windy day. The bag a gloves are just the cherry on top. I would vote this one of Kate's best looks this year.
It just shows that one can't please everyone... =)
      But I'm certainly pleased.

  12. Wow, just wow!! This suit looks great on Kate, so professional. I agree it's a bit too long, but still is beautiful. So glad to see this " Fab Four" working together.

  13. I kinda like the top of Kate's outfit because it does have this military feeling to it which she seems to go for. But the bottom is just weird. At least in these two photos it doesn't look flattering. Is it a skirt or pants? I think I would like it more if it were pants which were tighter. If it's a skirt it makes her look like a nanny. No offense. But definitely not my favorite look of hers.

  15. Kate always try to not to wear beautifull clothes when she is with her father-in-law. That dress last year for the 50 anniversary and this outfit seems to go well with a gouvernante from a period drama. Last Christmas, everyone seemed sad, I thought someone might be very ill but the Philips separation and the Sussex's quitting was already known to them, not to us.

  18. Kate's fashion statement today is fabulous. Hopefully, it will continue as her work schedule has picked up and we see more of her. I love that both Kate and Camilla have embraced the lady mini bag rather then the clutch for day time use.
Unfortunately, I think Camilla needs a little pick up in the fashion department. She looks lovely at formal affairs but her day wear when working is tired and unflattering on her. Perhaps Kate could lend her a new coat or two!!!!! LOL

    1. USA Granny, so agree about Camilla. She had some really nice outfits but this one is so dowdy. The photos make it seem sometimes like she is tagging along, and really, as the next Queen consort, she should be more important looking.

Sometimes I forget that she has her own children and grandchildren and perhaps her focus is more on them than on Charles'. However, I hope there can be another family photo before too long that includes a more grown-up Louis and little Archie!

  20. Thank you for the post. Kate’s outfit seems to be polarizing the comments. I am not a fan of the longer hem length, but this seems to work. I think fewer buttons or changing the configuration from waist to hip would work as well. But I am not a designer, just the general public who adores Kate’s look.

  21. Noooo! They are coming to Cork two weeks before I will be there. Waahhhhh!!!! It will be quite a significant visit after Ireland's elections yesterday where Sinn Fein (unionist party) won the popular vote. They will probably meet the VERY short President Higgins and his lovely dogs--M & H charmed and were charmed when they met him/them. If anyone looks like a leprechaun it's President Higgins :) And there are rumblings that Northern Ireland might want another poll re unification with the South. The North's majority vote was to Remain over Brexit. So, as I said, some careful diplomacy even if they are visiting the South and not the North.

    1. Sinn Fein are a Republican party, not a Unionist party! They want Ireland to be re-united as a single, independent country. The Unionists parties want to remain "united" with the United Kingdom - of which the Republic of Ireland is not a part. But agreed, it will be a tricky diplomatic situation - and I think most people will love to see them there. I wish they'd go to Galway which is the EU Capital of Culture this year.

  22. Although not usually a fan of McQueen, I do like this suit a lot, although I think it would look better with a shorter/different style skirt.

Sad news about Peter and Autumn. I got divorced from the father of my first two daughters when my oldest was 7, and it was especially hard on her at that age. It sounds like they are doing the best thing they can do for their daughters by living close by each other and having joint custody, which is what we did at first. Although it became difficult as time went by and we went on with our lives - new jobs and new spouses didn't always allow us the parents to stay as close to each other. But they will probably be able to manage it.

  23. This outfit is a home run!!! Tasteful, professional, polished, on point. The juxtaposition of the structured jacket with the more feminine skirt is a total win. The fit is right on. Her hair is perfect. Incredible job DOC!!!

  26. Wow! What a jam packed post.... I think it's one of the fullest, either ever since 2011, or at least in a long time & of a diverse nature. I'm so sad to hear about Autumn & Peter! So sad, as they always seemed like such a well suited couple. At times like this, it's nice that they are one of the BRF couples who are not on the front burner.

All these tours.... it's a festival of riches! I was so overwhelmed by just how I'm so used to seeing William & Catherine in their newer more comfortable established, empathic yet regal skin, that I actually found myself forgetting that they weren't actually already The Prince & Princess of Wales!? I had to catch myself! That's never happened to me before, yet I'm sure it will increasingly do so, as we watch them only step more & more into what resembles the role of the 2nd in line.

I don't know if I've ever commented on any aspect of Kate's ensembles that I don't care for....? I usually comment about what I like, but just leave it at that. But today, I feel oddly compelled to comment on how I feel the length of the skirt was not flattering, due to her height & slender figure. I love the McQueen Ensemble (nice nod to the 10th anniversary & nobody does her military looks like this fashion house)..... but I just wanted to reach into the computer & grab her skirt & fold it up a bit. She is just so lovely & I felt the long length just elongated her already elongated figure. It's a small thing & I don't know why after all these years it made me twitch... but it did! lol

  27. I like this hairdo on Kate, evwn if I think darker hair suits her better. I don't like the outfit - long skirt over boots is a pet peeve of mine, and even if I love military style, and I love it on her, this doesn't look very good: it isn't flattering (Kate usually favours high waist and flaring skirts, which make her long thin frame look great.. this outfit with the dropped waist and cylindric, heavy skirt that only opens at the thighs, does the opposite). Also the colours are off - I think winter paleness + that hard dark blue + decoloured hair = unflattering. This said, Kate is always lovely and beautiful, and military style is one of her everpresent homages to whoever and whatever she is visiting.

Seeing the royals in a rehab centre for the army members, I couldn't help thinking of Harry. I even wondered whether the engagement might originally have been planned for another foursome, the Cambridges and the Sussexes. Maybe not but the idea still made me sad. 1. You are right Zora, there is an air of sadness for royal followers that is hard to shake.
The news of Peter and Autumn is somewhat sobering, and whether or not the Cambridges and Sussexes were to have been at this event together, seeing William and Charles joking around as father and son was a little bittersweet. Even though all these things maybe added to the grayness of the day, the one constant I see is when Kate is at these events, she is present and in the moment. Her quiet strength continues to surprise me and I see in her hope.....hope that there is a happily ever after in all of it for her and her family. Corny maybe...but to coin a phrase from The Holiday, "I'm looking for a little corny in my life." cc

  34. A thoughtful nod to McQueen today from Kate. It’s so hard to believe it’s been that long. I love the pieces but something is off. I wonder if the jacket bodice was cut down an inch or so, would it perhaps lay better as it’s buckling between the waist band and collar.. As a seamstress, I also question all these pieces that are tailored so tight that would look better looser and give a little extra space to breathe and move comfortably. Lovely to see the four or them together.

I wondered with amusement in the video of C&C signing the guest book; did Charles bring his own pen or take the one provided? Just a silly thought but it did make me laugh either way.

So very sorry to hear of Peter and Autumn. They always seemed so loving and fun with each other on occasions, especially with their daughters. I feel if since it’s amicable and that Autumn has a life there (12+ years)that she wouldn’t disrupt her children, including regular access to their Dad. I’m sure she already spends some considerable time in Canada with her family so her daughters are connected to her extended family etc. I don’t know why the media takes it to the extreme.

I guess I'm in the wish the skirt was just a tish shorter category or she was wearing botties and not tall boots. She is so long and lean in this, but maybe just a tad too buttoned up? I like the color and she looks great, these are one of my favorite pairs of her earing's. Does the skirt have the silver buttons on it as well but they are hidden beneath the jacket? not a fan of these separates, something about the waist ends up looking funny, don't know how to describe! nice to see them with C&C. pure class from our gal Kate!!

Was also sorry to hear about Peter and Autumn, they always seemed so sunny and happy and like they had a secret joke. I hope they get the privacy they need to keep their transition positive for all.

    Thanks as always charlotte!!!

  37. I adore Kate. I don't like this outfit or her styling really but I adore her and am just so proud of her for how hard she is working with everything else going on this year.

I am so excited about all the royal tours! Genuinely hoping and praying that the busy schedule is not too stressful on their marriage or family relationships. They are taking up a LOT! I wonder if the increased engagements are due to the Sussex leaving?

I am sad about Peter and Autumn :( Divorce is never how it's meant to be. Hoping for the best possible adjustment for their daughters. And I hope the Queen gets some *good* news this year!! I so hope she is doing well amid all the disappointments of late!

LOVE seeing the 4 of them do an engagement together. Hope we see more of this in the future!

  38. It was sweet to see Prince Charles try to help his son make a basket. I also thought that maybe this engagement was meant for Harry to attend. It makes a huge difference for someone who served in the military to recover with their peers. I love how W&K were asking about mental health. For fashion , I am with the group who thinks the skirt was about four inches too long and the top looked too long for some reason. As for Peter & Autumn, how sad for them and their girls.

May I ask who is accompanying Kate as an assistant on visits lately? Does she have a new personal assistant? I always enjoy looking in the background for Mr. Security and whoever is helping with flowers, purses, etc. I haven't recognized anyone supporting her lately. i can't imagine she's totally on her own. Charlotte, maybe this would be a good time for an update on her staff, since there have been some changes. Thank you for all you do!!

  41. Love what Kate is wearing, Boots and all. What a wonderful event it would be nice to see other royals ream up together.

  42. I am with commenters that dislike this outfit. Kate has numerous „military inspired“ costs in her closet. There are some great ones from McQueen from her early years too. The last ones were huge misses though. This one is not a great pick either. I also tend to get annoyed how she always brings out this kind of clothes for every military related engagements. I get it when William is in uniform too but everyone else is wearing perfectly normal clothes. She hasn’t been in the army so her dressing up like this makes it look costume-y.
The hairstyle is nice- I hoped to see this half up half down more often. The darker hair is really flattering on her complexion and makes her look way fresher than the yellow highlights.
Poor Beatrice. There is no way her wedding wouldn’t have been televised if things had gone down different last year. And now, even the wedding date announcement is over shadowed by the divorce news. I don’t get the fuss. They seem to have come to amicable and well thought over decision. If this will ensure more peace and happiness for the family all is good. People don’t divorce without reason. The BRF is no stranger to divorce. Three of the four Queen‘s children are divorced. I don’t see the big drama. All I hope is that the children will be ok and still feel supported and loved.

    1. C. I do believe it would be a sad day when we are so desensitized that divorce is no longer considered to be a sad end to a relationship and in that sense newsworthy. Nobody gets married with the aim of getting divorced. So when they do get to the point where they realise that it is not going to work the way they envisioned, it is sad for all involved.
But I agree it should not be completely unexpected. With 8 grandchildren, combined with the added pressure of the royal fish-bowl, it was inevitable that not all the marriages will last.

Having said that I think Peter and Autumn are handling this with the minimum amount of drama possible for a public split. Actually there seem to be no drama.
It was bound to make the headlines when the news broke. But because they got their ducks in a row behind closed doors and released a quick statement when the news broke it was already old news by sunset.

  43. Beautiful sartorial choice for the duchess on the ten year anniversary of Lee Alexander McQueen's passing and reminder of his legacy. Love the unusual vertical silhoutette of this perfectly tailored suit. The style looks like its inspired by pre-Revolution Russia.

  44. On some pictures the satchel bag looks different from the mini Wicca model. Is it a bespoke version ?

  45. I didn’t like the look at first but it’s really fitting for the event and Kate looks beautiful.

  46. William needs a coat, he looks ill equipped for the winter snow conditions. His father, Camilla and the gentleman greeting them, in the top photo, looked like they were ready for the outing. Kate could use a coat as well, she could remove it for the indoor activities.

  47. This outfit is a rare miss for me. It looks very stifled, stiff and tight around the jacket. The military theme I really like, but it is a ongoing theme, but I understand the emphasis today. The same with the colour, I love navy, but the beautiful coat last week was of the same line colour.
