The Duchess Reveals Plan to Take Questions for 5 Big Questions Online Forum

In a video released by Kensington Palace, the Duchess of Cambridge revealed she's excited to share "five big insights" from the results of 5 Big Questions later this week. On Friday, Kate will give a keynote speech at an online forum hosted by the Royal Foundation and Ipsos MORI.

The Duchess said, "Earlier this year we asked you 5 Big Questions about raising our under-fives. We wanted to hear what you think about the importance of the earliest years of our children’s lives. More than half a million of you answered that call, so we’ve taken your input and combined it with even more public research to produce the U.K.’s biggest ever study on the early years." Kate continued, "This is just the beginning and I want to thank you for starting a conversation because we’re all on this journey together."

Hello! reports:

'More than 500,000 people responded to the questionnaire at the start of 2020, making it the largest ever response to a public survey of its kind.

Kelly Beaver, Managing Director of Public Affairs at Ipsos MORI, who conducted the study, said: "Ipsos MORI has been conducting research with the public in the UK for over 50 years, and we have never seen a response like we did when the 5 Big Questions was launched."

The Duchess will answer questions from the public during Friday's online forum.

The Duchess wore a trouser suit for the video with a rose pink Massimo Dutti top (with many thanks to Heaven). The 100% Cashmere Sweater features a crew neck, ribbed trims and side vents at the hem.

And accessorised with her Alex Monroe's Paleontology Nugget style. The £285 charm necklace features "fossilised nuggets etched with botanicals, animals and Alex’s iconic bumblebee!".

  1. Fantastic! Love the video she sounds wonderful and looks great. However I am not sure the sweater is identified correctly. Regardless, she looks great and I love that they are using the same spot in their home to video most of their messages from. It works really well.

    1. Complete with a collection of photographs that are personal but still all in the public sphere, so no big fuss about identifying the pictures in the background.

    2. RachelZA Yes!! The photos are casual and genuine, like any of us would have but also, we have already seen them so they are not revealing more than they are comfortable with. Plus that leaves the focus on the engagement not on the background.

  3. Impressive to know that more than 500.000 people invested their time on the survey. I was glad to read that the company that carried it out has said that the biggest response they’ve seen on their UK surveys.

  4. Well done to HRH. Over half a million respondents. I'm looking forward to the results. The start a child gets in their life is vital. I'm sure the Duchess will use the results to guide her work going forward.

  5. Kate is so quietly understated about her work - the marvellous response to the the Hold Sill photographic exhibition she helped promote and now this: 500,000 responses to any survey is extraordinary. I'm delighted for her success in bringing attention to these things...

And of course, a peek into her home is a bonus!

  7. Love the rosy pinkish color of that sweater...or jumper. 😁
    I just don't think there's a color she doesn't look pretty in.

  8. I think this is a very worthy project. Somehow, many people think that everything goes "naturally" with very young children and it's no big deal. On the contrary: a lot of parents are unsure and need a lot of help and support during their kids' early years. I'm glad Kate draws the public attention to this topic and I believe it can bring a lot of good in the long run.
