William, Kate, George and Charlotte enjoyed Christmas with the Royal family on the estate before reportedly ringing in the New Year in Bucklebury with the Middletons. It was thought the family had returned to London ahead of the beginning of term at Charlotte's new nursery last Thursday. It now looks very likely Charlotte will start during the coming week as Prince George returns to school at Thomas's Battersea. Below, William and Kate arriving with the Duke of Edinburgh this morning.
Kate's sister Pippa Matthews and her husband James were in attendance. Pippa wore The Fold Clarendon Coat with a navy fedora Jess Collett hat. With Kate celebrating her 36th birthday on Tuesday, I expect the Duchess is once again enjoying a low-key celebration with family and friends at Anmer.
William and Kate's close friends James and Laura Meade also joined them.
William and Kate's neighbour the Marquees of Cholmondeley was photographed; I expect his wife Rose was also there.

Locals and well-wishers gathered to greet the royals.
Kate selected her popular Moloh Turpin Coat today.
She debuted the coat on Christmas Day 2014.
The £685 eighteenth-century style garment is from the 2013 collection and comes in brown and cream check with flecks of orange.

Kate wore it with a Russian style fur hat. The eagle-eyed What Kate Wore suggests it's the Lacorine Sumac Style in chocolate brown. Susan referenced a Claudia Joseph story which revealed the following "Kate bought the Sumac hat in black, chocolate brown and champagne, while Pippa wore a brown one to the Cheltenham races in 2013."
Kate teamed the coat with her £267 Tod's Pumps with fringes. The shoes feature an almond toe, fringed detailing and metal buckle on the toe, with leather insole.
In the photo below, we can see Kate's sapphire and diamond earrings.
Kate wore the brown Cornelia James Clementine Gloves with faux fur trim. I received an email from the brand confirming.
And Kate carried her gorgeous burgundy Chanel bag from Paris.
Wishing the Duchess a very Happy Birthday! 2018 promises to be a very exciting year for her. I expect we'll see the release of a photo or two to mark Charlotte's first day at nursery over the next couple of days.

Looking forward to seeing them at their upcoming engagements and Charlotte starting school! I assume that the nursery might do as they do here. The regular kids start earlier and they get back into the swing of things before the newcomer kids starts getting schooled in!

Oh this is my favorite coat of Kate's! So much so that I see about trying to find a similar one this year (at a slightly lower price point!). Indeed, my Christmas church outfit was identical to what she wore today- fur hat and all! What an exciting way to wake up this morning!

Lovely to have an unexpected outing and loving all the recycles. I think a fur hat suits this coat better than the Christmas day outfit and it all looks great with the block-heel Tod courts, they make a great winter pick.

Glad Pippa is helping celebrate Kate's birthday. 🎂 The Daily Mail was reporting a while ago on renovations she and James were doing to their house and included diagrams of their home. A huge spread for the city. Apparently she has household employees.
I wonder if Jame's parents have been able to restore Eden Rock after the hurricane? Not sure about Pippa's hat. I like the coat though.

DeleteSurfer girl, to say that I have mixed feelings about the brooch would be an uderstatement... I think it looks so much out of place and childish and cheap. I don't know whether there is some background or meaning to it, and if so, I apologize for bashing it. For me however, it is a huge miss especially for such occasion as today's service and probably for any other as well...

Just saw the earrings. I don't like them with this outfit even though she might have on a dress that would match. Kate has worn earrings a couple times that seemed out of place with the outfit she had on. :)

DeleteThe star just does not quite work as a design element....if it was part of a PR fundraising event, then Yes, but it is just very odd looking....I may be wacko in my design sensibilities, but when I look at that hat with that very odd looking gold star , I think WHAT!!!! It just makes no sense except for a fundraising or marketing product.So I blame the haymaker for just adding a seasonal or fun element to try and del hats... so maybe do not buy hats from this business.

Thanks. I'm really hoping to see a new picture of her when she goes to school. I was disappointed that they weren't at the Christmas service and that the Christmas photo was an older picture. The only one we've seen lately is just them in the back of the car for the Queen's lunch, but that's not quite the same.

She is still very young, it is more like daycare at her age than school.But she may be more than ready for some other kid interactions and lets face it, living at KP does not mean having neighborhood friends....
DeleteThis coat is one of my favorites. It’s so understated and chic. I despise these huge Russian style hats, though. To me, it just looks like a big animal decided to use your head as a (rather precarious) perch. At least it must be warm!

We should never take them for granted. Also old friends. Other articles showed James Meade and his wife there. So it looks like a little birthday get together got Kate, who by the way just looks radiant.

DeleteYou Know.... With all the excitement over "The Crown", I have been re-watching all the documentaries & shows that surrounded The Queen's 90th Birthday. Whenever I see that film reel played from her 21st Birthday in Africa, when she pledged her service whether her life be long or short, I am struck by how much of her (at that moment in time) that I see in William's face when I watch her, from her nose, cheeks, mouth & chin. I love Pippa's hat. I've always been a fan of fedoras ever since Humphrey Bogart . . . Well. Anyway, I like it. I wonder what the star means, if anything? She's worn it before I understand, so it must "mean" something. Kate looks great; I like how the fur trim on the gloves complements the hat. I love that coat. Prince Phillip, who is such an amazing man to be walking to church at his age, I hope wasn't cold without a hat or scarf or gloves. William's hands looked cold, see how the one is clenched as he walks. Either that or he doesn't like having his picture taken.

LOL at the image of Charlotte being the nursery school boss. She does rule the roost by the looks of it. I can imagine her as being a very competitive athlete one day. Maybe tennis, if the stories are true! Although she also seems to like books very much and might turn out to be an academic!
