A reader emailed me the other day and remarked, "It feels like ages since Kate's Wimbledon appearances, do you have any ideas until engagements resume in September?" It followed several messages requesting the return of 'Styling Kate', a hugely popular activity proposed by a commenter named Julia who had the rather splendid idea of allowing readers to show off their taste and showcase looks they would choose if they were Kate's stylist. It was really tremendous fun and a very unique means of inviting participation from all of you. We had Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, a State dinner and a Royal premiere. On each occasion, I was completely blown away by the talent on display and fresh takes on the royal wardrobe.
Styling Kate 2023
As with previous occasions, I've selected two potential events for you to style, which both call for the possible inclusion of sartorial diplomacy (there is also a third bonus styling round I'm quite sure you'll enjoy). To begin with, we're tackling evening looks... The Princess has had just one evening engagement in the UK which called for a gown this year -- the BAFTA awards in February. With that in mind, I know you'll be eager to tackle eveningwear first :)
LOOK ONE -- THE EARTHSHOT AWARDS IN SINGAPORE
Whilst there's been no word of an official Commonwealth tour for the new Prince and Princess of Wales, we do know the couple will visit Singapore in November for the third Earthshot awards. We can expect the night to be a formal, star-studded affair. With the theme of sustainability in mind, Kate repeated her lilac Grecian Alexander McQueen gown for the inaugural awards in London.
Last December in Boston, the Princess rented a grass green maxi dress from Herr Collective and styled it with Queen Mary's dazzling Emerald Choker.
I'm very excited to see how each of you interpret the brief and put your own spin on the theme. Might a sustainable designer feature or perhaps a repeat from Kate's closet? Indeed, you may opt to choose a gown from one of the Princess' favoured designers or a fresh face on the scene. In terms of jewels, choose any pieces you want from the royal vaults, Kate's own collection or your own favourite jeweller. Include a clutch, shoes and any other accessorises you wish.
Will you choose a designer with Singaporean links or possibly honour the country's colours, red and white? Below, the flag beside the national flower of Singapore -- the Singapore Orchid, also known as the Princess Aloha Orchid.
LOOK TWO - A FORMAL DAYWEAR LOOK FOR 'WALES WEEK'
I always very much enjoyed Charles and Camilla's 'Wales Week' during their time as the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall. It typically saw the couple undertake a plethora of engagements in the summer over seven days, with a truly fantastic variety. We haven't yet seen it adapted by William and Kate (though, there is still plenty of time, and it would certainly make a fantastic surprise). So, looking through the itinerary over the years, I'm asking you to style a look which covers the following three engagements:
The day will begin at Llandaff Cathedral with a thanksgiving service to celebrate the NHS (a hat will be required for this engagement only). From there, a visit to Cardiff Castle where the Prince and Princess of Wales will meet charity representatives, local officials and undertake a walkabout outside. The Prince and Princess will then enjoy a celebration of music and drama, celebrating Welsh Culture.
- A formal daywear look befitting a day of significant engagements in Wales.
- For the first engagement at Llandaff Cathedral, headwear will be required. It's envisaged the hat will be removed before the arrival at Cardiff Castle.
- Once again, this is an opportunity to deploy sartorial diplomacy and pieces of historical value from the royal vault. Possibly the inclusion of a Welsh jewellery brand like Spells of Love if you wish. However, this is entirely optional. This could be an opportunity to debut sparklers from Cartier, a new designer or to support a British high street retailer.
Equally, something along the lines of Kate's look for the luncheon and reception on the eve of the Coronation fits the bill and could easily work well with a floral headpiece or hat. Kate wore Jenny Packham, the Queen's Bahrain Pearls and Aquazzura Bow Tie pumps for the occasion.
Perhaps you'll select a coatdress or go for a daring trouser suit or jumpsuit? The choice is entirely yours. The second look is far more open to interpretation; there are no rights or wrongs. Red is of course Kate's colour and happens to be one of the colours of the flag. The national flower is the Daffodil and the Leek is the national emblem. Of course, Kate has a Leek brooch and wore it on St David's Day (another ideal sample for this look).
LOOK THREE -- BONUS ROUND -- LET'S GO PINK!
Over on The Royal Digest last week, I remarked pink is truly everywhere thanks to the movie of the summer Barbie. It's truly been a treat to see the incorporation of the colour across fashion and media in recent weeks. (My friend's eleven-year-old has been to see it twice and insisted all cinema-goers dress in pink for the occasion; the results were fantastic). So, for our final bonus round, I want you to style Kate in pink! That's it, there are no other rules. If you would like to style a white-tie look for the Princess with a tiara, this is your chance! A look for a day of engagements at home or on tour, Wimbledon, Trooping, Chelsea Flower Show or a simple casual look, the choice is completely yours. If you're looking for a shoe-stopping sparkler from the royal vault, click here to read about the 'finest pink diamond every discovered'. If you're shopping Kate's wardrobe, Susan over at What Kate Wore has done a fabulous, comprehensive review of Kate's pink looks over the years.
A list of the looks:
1) An evening look for Earthshot in Singapore.
2) A formal daywear look with headwear for engagements in Wales.
3) GO PINK for any event you wish, as glamorous or informal as you want.
Below sample looks from previous years of Styling Kate from our readers Christine from NJ, Duchess Fan from Down Under, and S From E.
Below, a selection of links to various designers and fashion retailers. I've begun with three designers who have Singaporean links as options. I've also included vintage and sustainable designers. This list is merely cursory; part of the fun will be doing your own travels on the internet.

You can submit your choices by simply leaving a comment with links, or if you would like your looks to be a 'surprise' for other readers, send me an email at hrhcatherineblog@hotmail.com
You can simply email me links to the products/looks you choose. If you don't receive a response from me via email within 24 hours, please let me know to ensure I received your submission.
Whichever option you choose, please leave a first name or moniker so you can be properly credited. In terms of a deadline, you can share your looks for inclusion for the next week (10th August), you don't need to do all three at once either. I hope you'll all submit for the three categories listed. If not, choose your favourite. On that note, happy fashion sleuthing!
I absolutely love that 'Kelly green' outfit with the architectural wide-brimmed hat on Catherine - definitely one of my favourite day looks....but is that a ladder in her tights on her left foot by the shoe?? *fun comment*. If so, isn't it wonderful to see normal wardrobe malfuunctions on those we admire??
ReplyDeleteI have been blown away by past entries! The three you list above are SO interesting. I personally thought last year's rented green gown fit perfectly and made sense but I really just hated it. The BAFTA look was awful. She had such wonderful clothes in the first years after her marriage -- I would love for your readers' results to be passed along to Kate's team. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the white dress with the red roses... beautiful!!
DeleteI have to agree. I loved the individuell pieces from the BAFTA look but sadly they didn't go together at all. The green gown fit perfectly but the shade of green was way to harsh. And the jewellery didn't go with it. Kate has made some spectecular missmatches between neckline and hair to necklace and earrings. Looking back, so many posters have created the most gorgeous looks for her. Often including re-wears and jewellery that is either in her possesion or could be on loan (be it as Duchess of Cambridge or now as Princess of Wales). And often better than what Kate and her stylists have choosen.
DeleteRegards, C.
The pink look for me.

It is one of the nicest in the royal collection. I hope Williams Grandmother was as generous to him with jewelry as her Grandmother Queen Mary was to her. I would love to see the Princess wearing it without the base for now, the base would make a nice hairband. S.🙂.
DeleteI just popped in to see if you had any news and I’m delighted to see this post. Can’t wait to see the selections.
ReplyDeleteWhat are the dates (time of year) for Wales Week?
ReplyDeleteHello Elle, it was typically in July for Charles and Camilla. It's a tradition I hope William and Kate will continue.
DeleteCharles and Camilla did it again this year. Maybe a farewell tour, as events had been scheduled pre last September?
DeleteYes indeed. I'm thinking they might actually do a few days in Wales as King and Queen every year. We should have a much clearer picture in 2024.
DeleteStyling Kate!
ReplyDeleteThis is my favorite activity - it’s been so crazy at work that I’ve missed commenting on so many things but in my opinion, the Wales’s have been putting their best feet forward. There have been a few missteps for me but we all have those!

Wow, just stunning looks. I've been hoping to see a jumpsuit and love the 'Date Night' idea.
DeleteAlaina, love your looks. If those earrings by Amado Gudek aren't in her jewelry box, they should be, simply exquisite. Love, love your Barbie 'date night' look! So exciting to see such creativity!
DeleteI wasn’t so sure about a jumpsuit until I saw the one I posted….I think Kate can pull it off, plus it can work for dressy or more casual - very versatile.
DeleteI was inspired for a date night look because you always hear about the work side but they do also have a personal side. I feel like they’d be a fun couple to have a fancy night in.
A fabulous post, thank you.
ReplyDeleteSingapore's national flower is the Vanda Miss Joaquim.

While the Earthshot Awards is a somewhat understated events - I went BIG! I wanted to find a gown for Kate focused on flowers given the focus on saving the Earth. Paired with - and drawing the eyes down, one of my favorite pairs of shoes - https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/jimmy-choo-romy-glitter-degrade-100mm-pumps-prod202930019 and the matching Jimmy Choo 'Ellipse' Navy and Silver Coarse Glitter Degrade Clutch. Kate's hair would be drawn back - similar to the Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace but with long romantic curls. For a rewear, I think the McQueen black gown with the embroidered flowers would be lovely as well. :-)
For the day in Wales, I fell in love with the pattern and styling of this Smyth Blazer - https://shopsmythe.com/products/birkin-blazer-topaz-houndstooth - which is why I'd ask for a bespoke coat in a 'fit & flare styling (remove the patch pockets but keep the flaps at the waist). The lapel is perfect for the Celtic brooch that was given to Kate as a wedding gift. For the church event add the Jane Taylor 'Neith in Straw' headwear in Ivory. Underneath I chose separates. Kate's Reiss Vinnie Ivory blouse - https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/reiss-vinnie-chiffon-blouse?ID=1654387&CategoryID=2910 - and pair it with an Ivory Pencil Skirt - https://www.tedbaker.com/us/p/Womens/Clothing/Skirts/Midi-Skirts/AMBEROS-Tailored-Longline-Pencil-Skirt-Natural/265784-NATURAL - Kate would carry her Demellier Nano Montreal Bag (complimenting the buttons on the coat) and her Celia style shoes by Ralph Lauren. Kate would sport an updo and accessorize with the Queen's Chandelier Earrings. Two very different looks for a variety of events. :-)
ReplyDeleteI too thought of Barbie Pink as 'Date Night'. Maybe Kate and Wills would go dancing at a local upscale club. I started with Pink, Wide-leg Slacks - https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/boss-tunipa-wide-leg-pants?ID=4728112&pla_country=US&cm_mmc=Google-PLA-ADC-_-GS_Local+Only-_-All+Products-_-621384558828-_-go_cmp-325403191_adg-23120909431_ad-80153669791_aud-179496473344:pla-296731747429_dev-c_ext-_prd-621384558828&gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwib2mBhDWARIsAPZUn_kD-5xysQo-gdEEJ60hR8XDhmgcW26QpP1R6vQ91GozOLmwhhMADSoaAkgVEALw_wcB - and paired it with this darling Zimmerman lace top - https://www.theoutnet.com/en-us/shop/product/zimmermann/tops/statement/gathered-cotton-blend-lace-top/1647597306357789?cm_mmc=Google-ProductSearch-US--c-_-TON_EN_US_PLA-_-TON_AM_US_PLA_Designer_Zimmermann--Zimmermann-_AM&&&vtp00=GOOGLE&vtp01=SEAU&vtp02=19652186084&vtp03=149436245641&vtp04=&vtp05=&vtp06=aud-1648197707459:pla-296161883691&vtp07=&vtp08=9031914&vtp09=&vtp10=g&vtp11=c&vtp12=647301801259&vtp13=&vtp14=pla&vtp15=118643736&vtp16=US_0400629842942&vtp17=US&vtp18=en&vtp19=296161883691&gad=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwib2mBhDWARIsAPZUn_kzq1PBxX8BdlCIh3cOBFHMRtsHALoffdoRYcQMhgXdfzuOZ9bLxykaAr2oEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds - and couldn't believe that I wasn't able to find a pair of black strappy sandals in Kate's closet so I had to go shopping and found these - https://www.sarahflint.com/products/perfect-sandal-85-black-suede?variant=40324153278561&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=m6-shp-acq-prospecting-nb-bof-producttypes-sandals[medium]-conversions-purchase-troas-us&utm_content=shoes_luxuryshoppers&utm_term=&gclid=Cj0KCQjwib2mBhDWARIsAPZUn_mD31QRRr5TKjNntdyNW8uUXYuutjz5RFcPADI87GdlhFLLh9bRgEkaAi7cEALw_wcB - which are only 85mm high (perfect for dancing) and would accessorize with Kate's Electric Gem Statement Earrings - https://www.regalfille.com/product/accessorize-eclectic-gem-statement-long-drop-earrings/ - and her Wilbur & Gussie 'Charlie' Clutch in Gold Glitter. Of course a high ponytail completes the look for a night of dancing.
ReplyDeletePS: Sorry for the amazing long links Charlotte :-(
Elle, your thoughtful choices are fantastic. The 'pink looks' are leading to some of my favourite ever style on the blog to date.
DeleteFor Earthshot I would like to see the Princess wearing the green Jenny Packmam dress she wore in Pakistan and the Royal Albert hall. Hair slicked back. Jewelry wise the emerald necklace worn as a hairband and the Cambridge bracelet. With any large emerald earrings. There are 5 Cambridge emeralds in Queen Mary's stomacher that would make a beautiful pair of earrings and ring or pendant. I live in hope. S.🙂.
ReplyDeleteS, you share my line of thinking when it comes to jewels. The emerald necklace as a headband is stellar :)
DeleteYes indeed Charlotte, I've noticed your interest and good eye for jewelry. The late Queen also had a lovely diamond cuff necklace that would look beautiful on The Princess of Wales. Charlotte, speaking of jewelry. I tried to post 4 times on the Williamson pink on your Digest and got the same message each time. A problem publishing. I will try again. I'm enjoying reading all the suggestions especially on the jewelry.S.🙂.
DeleteS, do let me know if you continue to experience issues commenting there.
DeleteCharlotte, I just checked it did post probably after I pressed send about 20 time's on my 4th attempt. It's happened here a good few times before. I really enjoy reading your posts but I do hope you're talking the time to enjoy the summer with your Husband and family. Wishing you and yours all the best from a very rainy Ireland. S.🙂.
DeleteThe same to you, S.
DeleteIt's been a very good summer thank you. Busy and a little chaotic as always :)

Look 1 (Earthshot):
ReplyDeleteI'm going really wild with these so I'm having Kate dig into Sophie's vaults. I think it would be a great way to show unity, the family's support/commitment to environmentalism, and I just wanted to really go for it. I chose to have Sophie lend Kate her custom Amanda Wakeley gown worn to Crown Princess Victoria's wedding concert. I thought since it was an older piece, it was a more realistic choice for Sophie to lend and this look feels like it's something Kate would like. To keep sustainability in mind, I chose her Jimmy Choo shoes and Anya Hindmarch bags that she already owns. I of course chose one of the great sapphire pieces she has access to with the fringe sapphire earrings from the royal vault

Nancy, the nod to the NHS for Wales is such a thoughtful choice and perfect for the nature of suggested engagements.
DeleteFor Wales Week, my pick is a rewear of her Eponine London Chi Chi coatdress. It is pretty close to NHS blue so seems appropriate to the occasion. I have her wearing the Prince of Wales feather brooch for obvious reasons. I found a cute pair of Spells of Love earrings for her to debut. I like the idea that the one piece she debuts would be a Welsh designer. I chose for her to rewear her Sean Barrett hat, Gianvito Rossi pumps, and Emmy bag.

Delighted to see your name pop up Laura. As expected, terrific pieces chosen!
DeleteFor readers who may not know, Laura is one of the most talented ladies when it comes to ID'ing royal clothing and accessories. She has been lightening fast with many Kate pieces over the years on Twitter (using the handle of @Japanese_Ginger) A must follow account for royal fans.
Laura - wonderful to meet you! I think it's wild how people ID Kate's clothing. Sometimes I definitely have a feel for it but to do the actual work - seems daunting.
DeleteThanks for the very kind and generous intro! And thank you too, Elle. I love pretend styling so I HAD to jump at the opportunity.
DeleteFor the last challenge of pink I'm going to highlight a designer from Northern Ireland I'd love to see Kate champion, Shauna Fay. Shauna's designs are so feminine and feel so Kate to me. I chose a soft pink dress for Kate. To go with it, I added a new color to Kate's Emmy London collection, cupcake. I love the different shades of pink with the dress and accessories to lean into the Barbie theme. To finish it off, I thought a Kate fave of pearl earrings made sense. And because I love the Swedish Royal Family and Will and Kate visiting Sweden is still one of my top royal moments ever (especially when they met Estelle and Oscar) I chose the in2Design earrings Kate debuted on that visit.

Those shorts are gorgeous and the Williamson brooch deserves to be seen regularly :)
DeleteAgreed! I used this piece from the Royal Vault the last time we "styled Kate". I loved your blog post Charlotte about this magnificent piece (link in post above). Given HM wore it at several weddings it would be fitting if the broach was incorporated when designing the wedding gown for Princess Charlotte.
DeleteA lovely thought, Elle.
DeleteIt is a spectacular diamond. What a waste for something so rare and beautiful not to be used and seen more. I was hoping to see this diamond set in the new Queens crown. S.🙂.

Thank you, I also could not access the links posted & couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I will check back for the graphics this weekend.

ReplyDeleteSue in WA
Hello Sue, Check back to August 9th. Comments by Intrigued, Admin & Maggie. That should help with info you need.
DeleteHello Charlotte-Admin, Comments date August 7 on Emerald Necklace, if it is the Emerald and Diamond choker Catherine wore to Earthshot look back to 1985. Princess Diana wore this choker as a headband one evening in Australia. She wore it often as a choker but only once as a headband. Diana and Charles had been on a walk-about that day and she had a very red sunburn on the back of her neck. A choker would have been painful, so it was worn as a headband. I would attach pictures if I could.
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely the same necklace. A gift to Queen Mary from the ladies of India. That's a very famous photograph of the late Princess of Wales wearing it across her forehead. I suggested it be worn as a hairband on Princess Catherine in her hair. The royal collection has a lot of emeralds, hopefully she will get to wear more. They really suit her. S.🙂.
DeleteHello S, Possibly Catherine could wear the Emerald and Diamond earrings made for Diana to be worn with this choker. I wonder where they are. I have several photos & videos of Diana and Charles dancing that night in Australia when she wore the choker as a headband. Diana's look was amazing, quite like Catherine on the night of the Earthshot awards. I don't mean that the gowns were alike in look, but that each of the
DeletePrincesses looked amazing in their choice of gowns and jewelry.
Maggie, if it is the emerald drop earrings you are referring to, they were a 22nd birthday gift from Princess Charles. Gifted with a emerald bracelet. I have also seen her wearing the necklace with large emerald earrings. Very similar to the large emerald earrings Princess Catherine has worn. There is a choice of 4+ pairs in the royal collection. It's the 4 unworn Cambridge emeralds I would like to see made into earrings for The Princess of Wales. S.🙂.
DeleteMaggie, I forgot to add. The Princess should also now have the emerald Princess of Wales earrings, gifted to Princess Alexandra by the ladies of Wales. S.🙂.
DeleteHi again S, Yes the emerald drop earrings and bracelet from Charles are the ones I was speaking of. I know the large emerald and diamond earrings Diana wore with the choker. The center emerald has a surround of mostly marquise cut stones. I am several years younger than Diana and have followed her from engagement until we lost her. I am surprised to find someone here who knows as much about Diana as I do. That is why I leave out details about Diana when commenting on Catherine.
DeleteAs for the Cambridge emeralds there were/are so many pieces I'm sure the Royal Jewelry Vault has a room just for them.
Maggie, my mum is the same age Diana would be today, and she adored her. I credit my own royal interest in hearing so much about Diana from mum and about Queen Elizabeth II from my grandmother.
DeleteI appreciate all the background information especially as I hope to grow a royal archive of posts over on The Royal Digest.
Thank you Charlotte, Unfortunately for those of us who were and still are Diana's Girls there was nothing like your Blog at the time. So nice of you to share about your mum, as she and I both adored Diana.
DeleteI'm a big fan of the late Princess of Wales. I think it's ok to talk about her especially when it's about jewels they have both worn. I think Catherine could wear any of the late Princess jewelry and make it her own. I hadn't seen those earrings before today. Now I'm wondering are they the earrings Diana wore with a emerald necklace I have only seen her wearing one time. She is standing next to Princess Margaret. Any more info on them Maggie? S.🙂.
Delete@Maggie.
DeleteActually the reason for Diana wearing it as a headband was due to the fact they had forgotten to include a tiara in their suitcases for the white tie dinner that evening and it was a last minute decision to use the necklace as the tiara , reminiscent of the 1920s era.
Hello again S, I don't know which earrings you are looking at as I cannot access the links to see the pictures. If and when I can see the pictures I will gladly tell you whatever I know about the earrings. Maybe that isn't appropriate as this is a Catherine blog. Perhaps we need an attached Diana blog.
DeleteHello R F Blog, This might not be appropriate as it refers only to Diana. It was not a white tie dinner that evening. Charles and Diana attended 3 Gala/Balls in Australia in different years. Each event included dinner and dancing to a live band with singer. For each of these Diana wore a necklace and earrings and sometimes a bracelet. She never wore a tiara. She and Charles began the dancing and as Diana was twirled about the dance floor by Charles a tiara would not have stayed in place on her head.
DeleteI have more details but as I said, not necessary on a Catherine blog.
I'm sure that might be the case. I read it in one of the books about Diana. Will check back to the title of the book. But I read that that's why the necklace was worn in that format.
DeleteRegards.
Khilen
@Maggie
DeleteI also read that she tried to fit it over her head rather than the normal way of undoing the clasp and then placing it on her neck. So each biographer gives some other version of the story.
Hello Khilen, Nice to know your name. Yes, I agree. Many of the people who have written about Diana are giving a version, not a fact. That is why I rely on what I saw and heard and not something written in a book that is different from what I saw and heard. If you follow Catherine and watched her at a live event, then read somewhere that what she did or said or wore was entirely different from what you saw live on television, which would you say was true? I am telling this to you so that you can understand how I have the information I have. I rely on what I see and hear. I watched Diana & Charles on live television coverage in Australia that day and night. I could clearly see the red sunburn on Diana's neck and that evening it was commented on by the person filming the event that I watched. Also, Anne Beckwith-Smith who was Diana's Lady-in-Waiting and would have helped to dress Diana certainly knew how to
Deleteattach a choker. Please do not take this as a lecture. It is just that I too have read different versions of events in Diana's life and if what is written is different from what I saw and heard, I believe my eyes and ears.
Regards, Maggie
Thanks Maggie, the earrings I was talking about are the ones surrounded by the marquise diamonds. S.🙂.
DeleteHello Anonymous S. Just this morning I was getting all of the info together about the Emerald - Diamond earrings. I had to look for pictures of Catherine with this jewelry as I do not follow her daily as I did Diana. Here is what I found. For Bafta Awards February 2018 Catherine wore Emerald & Diamond bracelet with matching pendant necklace & earrings. The earrings are a large Emerald with flat square front and surround of small marquise and other shapes of diamonds. For Met Museum visit December 2014 Catherine wore the same Emerald & Diamond bracelet without the matching necklace but wore both parts of the earrings. The top is a chandelier shape of many small marquise and other shapes of diamonds and the attached bottom is the same large Emerald with flat square front and surround of small diamonds. If you look at pictures of both events you can see what I mean. The pendant part of the necklace is the same as the earrings with both parts together. I checked The Court Jeweller and confirmed the earrings are 2 pieces that can be worn separately or together. They even explained how the earrings are made so they can be taken apart without any damage to either part. I found it interesting that for each occasion Catherine was pregnant and wore very similar gowns. With Charlotte in 1984 & Louis in 2018. Please look at pictures of these two outings and tell me what you think.
DeleteTomorrow I will start on the Diana with Princess Margaret picture to check on the earrings Diana is wearing. I found a 1 page magazine article with more pictures so I will post another comment on the Diana/Catherine earring question in a day or two.
Waiting to hear from you S.
Maggie
Hi again S, one detail I forgot to mention about Catherine's Emerald & Diamond jewelry. The diamonds are both white and yellow - don't know why clear diamonds are called white, the yellow diamonds are called canary after the yellow canary bird.
DeleteM.
I'm also a bit late to the party, so no worries if I'm past the deadline, but here are my looks!

DeleteHi Charlotte - It says something about your integrity that you remembered and acknowledged credit to Julia ( "Julia from Leo Minister") / I think that was her name on this blog). I participated in two different years and had exciting fun and some discovery of style, jewelry, fashion, and designers. I remember those years as genuine, innocent, fun, and informative, and with lots of identifiable names; it was easier to follow the person's posts, communicate, and enjoy the blog. I don't post much on this blog or the MAD blog. I read your posts on both blogs on subjects that interest me and some comments.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to all the creative talents posting their sets of items. I will watch and enjoy this time.

Great to see your name Anon15 and yes, absolutely, they were certainly better times in royal watching. So much of the fun has disappeared. I really do hope we can all find it again :)

DeleteGood to connect with you Charlotte - Thank you. I hope we will find it too. In spite of the change of times, you and your blog continue to be constant and deliver the same quality in information, photojournalism, and fashion/style. Your commentary is unique especially when times call for it. Even though the change of times can be outside of your control, you maintained both blogs judicially and courageously. I appreciate years of a sane, informative, and very pleasant blog. You certainly have the skill and wisdom for it, and I can also imagine the hard work it involves. Stay well and good.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much Anon 15.

Prince of Wales broach
Catherine’s emerald earrings
I'm very much hoping to see the 'Paris' Jenny Packham again. Thank you so much for participating :)
DeleteI just love looking at the various posts here in the comments and was inspired to submit a "re-wear" for Kate at the upcoming Earthshot Awards in Singapore. I'd love to see the spectacular Silver, One Shoulder, Draped Jenny Packham gown she wore back in 2014:
ReplyDeleteWith a simple silver shoe: https://www.gianvitorossi.com/us_en/woman/shoes/sandals/portofino-85/G60953.85RIC.NPSARGE_37.html
And no surprise, the Queen's Emerald Tassel suite (which Kate wore in Jamaica back in 2022) including the earrings, bracelet, and brooch: https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2022/05/the-queens-emerald-tassel-suite.html The Earthshot Awards event is definitely a time to wear emeralds.
Kate's hair would be blown straight but full and brushed back (gotta show off the brooch).
The Silver Elie Saab 'Abat Jour' Clutch: https://katemiddletonstyle.org/item/elie-saab-abat-jour-clutch-bag/
Another look for Wales Week mainly because I really love this Eponine dress (the neckline is so pretty especially with the deep V in the back) and could see Kate wearing it. Luckily I also found a white Catherine Walker coat that I thought would work well with it (and besides, this coat could be styled completely differently a second time): together: https://eponinelondon.com/collections/archive/products/lisa-carol-fremont?variant=39599279243456
https://www.catherinewalker.com/beatrice-2/
Would love to see the drop diamond and ruby earrings Kate wore back in 2020 for the annual Commonwealth Day service: https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2022/07/the-duchess-of-cambridges-royal-rubies.html
Her beautiful red hat by Lock and Company worn in 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant and again for Trooping the Colour in 2016. And the Miu Miu Bow Bag in red suede: https://katemiddletonstyle.org/item/miu-miu-bow-bag/
For the shoes, I'd change it up with the Black and White Alessandro Rich 'Fab' spectator shoes:https://katemiddletonstyle.org/item/alessandra-rich-fab-pumps-in-beige-with-black-toe/
Kate's hair would be worn up to show off the deep V in the back of her dress at the afternoon events (and of course those fabulous earrings).
Charlotte, please ignore this submission if you already have complied everything. I've enjoyed the process so much - and pretty sure I have always participated. I have never really looked at the Phillip Treacy or Jane Taylor website before. I was blown away. I think buying a hat in England should be on my bucket list (even if I never wear it - I'd display it, they are so lovely). Thank you!
Elle, gorgeous choices. You are in plenty of time :)
